Nick Vujicic. The incredible story of a man without arms and legs who achieved stunning success! Nick and Kanae Vujicic: love without barriers

Some people literally accomplish small feats every day. We have collected 5 real stories about five amazing people, which illness and injury do not interfere with full-fledged, active life and only, on the contrary, they stimulate new achievements and victories.

Nick Vujicic

Australian of Serbian origin Nick Vujicic was born with a rare hereditary disease - tetra-amelia syndrome. At birth, he did not have full arms and legs; he had only one foot with two fused toes. However, the boy grew up and began to lead a full life, which is so full of events and achievements that most healthy people can envy him.

Nick learned to walk, swim, skateboard, surf, play on the computer and write. Moreover, Vujicic has turned into a professional motivational speaker - he travels all over the world to tell sick, disfigured and distressed people about his life, and that often insurmountable problems that befall a person are not an obstacle to his further development .

Nick Vujicic appears in feature films and documentaries, appears on the covers of glossy magazines, and also writes books that motivate other people. Each of them becomes a global bestseller.

Vujicic’s physical deformity did not become an obstacle in his personal life. In 2012, at the age of thirty, he got married, and in 2013, Nick had a daughter.

Aron Ralston

Part of the story of Aron Ralston is known to hundreds of millions of people on Earth. After all, it was about him that the famous feature film “127 Hours” was released in 2010. Let us remember that in the movie we are talking about a lover of an active lifestyle, who, while walking along a mountain crevice, fell into natural captivity - a stone firmly pressed his hand to the rocky surface. After more than five days of waiting for help, Aron was forced to cut off his own limb with a blunt knife in order to free himself.

But the film does not tell about the further fate of Aron Ralston himself. The injury did not prevent him from continuing his activities in mountaineering and rock climbing; he was even able to conquer all the eight-thousand-meter mountains in the world. In place of the living hand, Aron installs special prosthetics, which are also part of his professional equipment. Ralston no longer needs to hold all kinds of mechanisms and tools in his palm - the hand itself becomes them as needed.

Aron's story became public knowledge. He became a frequent guest on television, and then wrote a book about his tragic incident, published in Russian with the title “127 hours. Between a rock and a hard place." The famous film starring James Franco was made based on it.

Todd Key

American Todd Key attracts attention at literally every cycling competition in which he takes part. And this is not surprising, because he is the only professional cyclist in the world who does not have an arm and... a leg.

At the age of seven, Todd had a bad fall and broke his arm, after which it began to become deformed and stopped growing. He lost his leg at the age of seventeen - doctors were forced to amputate it due to knee cancer.

But Todd Key did not accept his injuries. He began to engage in various sports, eventually giving preference to cycling. Now he even takes part in professional bicycle racing, being the “face” of the AirparkBikes company, which created a special bicycle for this unusual athlete.

Of course, Todd Key is not a contender for medals in cycling. His participation in such competitions is already a daily victory over himself and public opinion.

Key also gives lectures and meetings with people who have recently become disabled. By his example, he convinces them that life is not over, success awaits them ahead, but for this the main thing is not to get hung up on their own problems, but to regularly discover new horizons for themselves.

The dance duet Hand in Hand is yet another proof that the absence of arms or legs is not an obstacle to achieving worldwide success in areas where it would seem impossible to do anything without these limbs.

The ballet couple Hand in Hand consists of dancers named Ma Li and Zhai Xiaowei. The girl in this duet does not have an arm, and the guy does not have legs. But this did not stop them from creating their own successful dance show, which is applauded by audiences around the world.

Each of this couple tries to compensate and level out the injuries of their own partner with the help of their actions. And they do it very well.

John Bramblitt

American John Bramblitt can be described by a phrase that for any inhabitant of the Earth will seem to be a mutually exclusive concept. He is a blind artist, and at the same time, a fairly good creator, whose paintings are exhibited even in the most famous galleries and museums in the world.

At the age of thirty, John Bramblitt lost his sight due to complications caused by epilepsy. At first, he practically did not leave the house, was in a state of depression and even thought about suicide. But over time, he took up drawing. To do this, John managed to find relief paints, so he paints by touch.

Bramblitt's work was noticed by art agents and gallery owners. To date, John has had solo exhibitions in more than twenty countries around the world, and he is one of the most successful contemporary artists in the United States.

Nick Vujicic is a renowned Australian Christian preacher, author, social activist and motivational speaker.

This cheerful man and charismatic speaker is unique in that he achieved worldwide recognition despite the fact that he was born without arms or legs.

Childhood and youth

Nicholas Vujicic was born in Melbourne to Duska and Boris Vujicic, immigrants from Serbia. At the birth, the father was present in the delivery room and saw the child's shoulder without an arm. Out of fear, he ran out into the corridor, and after the end of labor he asked the doctor: “Was my son born without an arm?” The doctor made the diagnosis with great regret:

“He has no arms or legs. This is tetra-amelia."

The disease took away the baby’s arms, and his lower extremities included an underdeveloped foot with fused toes. Surprisingly, despite the enormity of his physical condition, Nick was born completely healthy. His siblings also showed no abnormalities.

For the first 4 months, the mother did not allow the baby to breastfeed. His parents didn't know how to deal with him. Gradually, month after month, the parents began to get used to the special boy. They loved him for who he was, with all his flaws and characteristics.

Nick Vujicic is an avid surfer

Surgery immediately after birth allowed the toes to be separated. Thus, Nick received his only limb, a manipulator with the help of which he had to explore the world. This helped Vujicic learn to write and even skateboard, pushing off the asphalt with his feet.

As a child, physical disabilities oppressed Nick. His parents insisted that their son attend a simple school, and the boy suffered from awareness of his own inferiority. In addition, children often bullied him because he was different from them and could not answer them. When Nick was 6 years old, his cousin died of cancer, which was a great shock for Vujicic.

At the age of 10, he decided to commit suicide, but thoughts of his loved ones kept him from taking the fatal step. The boy imagined what pain he would cause to the people who loved him, and abandoned his terrible intention. Then Nick found himself in Christianity, realizing the power of divine love, which permeates the whole world and does not require him to be perfect.

Sermons

At the age of 17, Vujicic gave his first sermon to church parishioners. At 19, he was asked to give a speech to students at Griffith University, where he was studying at the time. The performance was a success and found a lively response among young Australians. That was the first time Nick Vujicic realized that his calling and mission was to motivate those around him with the word of God.

Preacher Nick Vujicic

His unconventional appearance, charm and love of life brought popularity to the young preacher, which allowed Vujicic to found the religious charity organization “Life Without Limbs” in 1999. Over the course of several years, Nick's popularity on the continent grew so much that in 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Young Australian of the Year award.

Nick is constantly improving his level. He received 2 higher educations - in accounting and financial planning. In addition to being the founder of Life Without Limbs, he is the owner of the motivational company Attitude Is Altitude.

To convey his worldview to a wide audience, Nick Vujicic gives lectures and sermons. He has visited 45 countries and is constantly expanding the geography of his trips. In March 2015, he gave motivational lectures in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In India, 110 thousand people came to just one meeting with the speaker.

Vujicic has an excellent sense of humor. One day Nick had to fly to another lecture. He entered the plane, positioned himself in front of the passengers and introduced himself as the captain of the plane. A moment's silence gave way to enthusiastic laughter and thunderous applause.

Preaching the idea of unconditional love, Nick held a hug marathon, where he hugged 1.5 thousand listeners. As part of his social activities, the man uses the capabilities of the World Wide Web. Nick shoots videos, blogs and shares with fans details of life in "Instagram". In addition, Nick Vujicic writes books where he talks about fate and shares with readers his thoughts about man’s place in the world.

Books and films

Nick starred in a short film by Joshua Weigel. The film tells about a circus with unusual performers. Among his artists are an old man who flies under a circus big top, a kind and graceful acrobat girl, and a flexible person who fits into a suitcase. But Vujicic plays the main role in the film. His hero is used as a living exhibit, tomatoes are thrown at him, everyone mocks him.

Nick Vujicic in the movie "Butterfly Circus"

The picture tells about a strong man who listened to his heart and, despite the absence of arms and legs, began to live a full life. The film motivates and evokes respect for Vujicic, because the plot is similar to the fate of Nick. This is one of the best motivational films according to viewers and the jury. It won first place at the Ashland, Hartland, Sedona and Method Fest Independent Film Festivals.

Nick's bibliography includes 4 bestsellers. The books talk about willpower, which can be cultivated if you believe in yourself and strive to achieve a great goal. Vujicic’s first work “Life without borders. The Path to an Amazingly Happy Life" was published in 2010. The book revealed to the world the phenomenon of a preacher whose life is associated with great restrictions.

In addition to talking about himself, Nick formulated the principles of a happy life on the pages of the publication. The absence of limbs does not prevent Vujicic from enjoying the joys of life, surfing, swimming, jumping from a springboard into the water. His computer typing speed reaches 43 words per minute. The preacher told the readers these and other amazing facts from his biography.

3 years later, Nick released his second work, “Unstoppable. The incredible power of faith in action."

In the book, the speaker described in detail how he managed to turn faith into action. He paid great attention to the difficulties that every reader has to overcome every day. Soon followed by the release of the publication “Be Strong. You can overcome violence (and everything that prevents you from living),” which enjoyed no less success than previous books; it was also sorted into quotes.

Personal life

Nick was an amorous boy from childhood. His first love overtook him in 1st grade. The girl's name was Megan. At the age of 19, Vujicic fell in love again. I had a difficult relationship with the girl. The platonic romance lasted 4 years, after which the feelings cooled down. At one time, the young man thought that he would never improve his personal life and would not be able to start a family. But he was wrong.

Nick Vujicic and Kanae Miyahara

Seeing his future bride for the first time, Nick experienced an explosion of emotions; he felt himself regaining his legs and arms. It was love at first sight. The writer's chosen one was Kanae Miyahara. The girl turned out to be half Japanese and half Mexican. She was also a member of the Evangelical Church. The bride's father moved to Mexico, where he founded his own business. Later, after his death, the family, consisting of his mother, two sisters and a brother, moved to the United States.

Just 3 months after they met, in the spring of 2011, Nick and Kanae decided to live together. It was not easy for the young couple, but the girl quickly got used to the everyday peculiarities of life together, and besides, Nick at that moment lost all his savings after the financial crisis. But Kanae turned out to be a wise and patient woman.

In 2012, Nick Vujicic got married. The speaker placed the diamond engagement ring in a basket of chocolate ice cream, which is Kanae's favorite. The girl agreed. The wedding took place simply, without unnecessary publicity. Only a few photos from the celebration appeared on the Internet. Nick described the details of the novel in the book “Love Without Limits. A remarkable story of true love."

The wife loves her husband madly and copes with all responsibilities. His wife helps Nick in charitable and preaching activities. They often appear together at special events and sports matches.

A year later, on February 14, Valentine's Day, Nick Vujicic and his wife became parents for the first time. The couple had their first child, who was named Kieshi James Vujicic. The child is completely healthy (3.6 kg at birth); he did not inherit his father’s genetic pathologies. The birth of their first child inspired the couple, and their second son was born 2 years later. The boy was named Dejan Levi.

In 2017, Nick Vujicic’s family was expanded with two charming girls. Twins Olivia and Ellie were born at the end of December. The daughters, like the speaker’s sons, are completely healthy. The first thing Nick broke the news to his subscribers was

A man born without arms and legs due to a rare disease inspires millions of people around the world with his example. AiF.ru recalled the most revealing facts from his biography.

Shocking birth

Nick was born into a family of immigrants from Yugoslavia. His mother's pregnancy was going well. Doctors did not reveal any pathologies or abnormalities. Nick's father was the first to see him during the birth. More precisely, he saw his son’s shoulder, from which the arm was missing. This shocked him so much that he jumped out of the room in which the birth took place. It was an even bigger shock for him when he learned the whole truth from the doctor. At first they didn’t even want to show the child to the mother. But it had to be done. Over time, they came to terms with and accepted Nick with all his characteristics.

Attempt to die

Unlike his parents, Nick, of course, took longer to accept himself. Today he recalls that at first it was very difficult. When he was seven years old, Nick even tried to drown himself in the bathtub. At the last moment he stopped. Nick suddenly realized that his parents would blame themselves for his fate until the end of their days. After this episode, Vuychich, much earlier than his peers, began to wonder why he was born, what his purpose was.

The fateful role of the school janitor

Nick was helped to find himself not by teachers or psychologists, which would have been obvious, but by an ordinary school janitor. He once told a guy that he simply had to speak in front of his peers, tell them his story, open up about his experiences. Nick didn't react to this. But the school janitor turned out to be incredibly persistent. For three months, he told the guy that his destiny was oratory. Finally, Nick gave in and tried to perform in front of his peers. The effect exceeded all his expectations. Nick realized that perhaps the janitor was right. He began calling other schools with an offer to speak to teenagers. But he was refused for a long time. Nick didn't give up. And when his second, and then third performance did take place, he was bombarded with calls, including from those schools that had previously refused. By seventh grade, he was elected class president. And after graduating from school, he received two higher educations - in the field of financial analytics and accounting.

Became a man of the world

Today Nick receives up to 100 offers a day for interviews and lectures from all over the world. He has already traveled to more than 25 countries. He wrote several books, acted in films, learned to skateboard, and became interested in surfing and parachuting. His name is known all over the world.

Happy father and loving husband

Five years ago, Nick married a beautiful Asian-looking girl. Their wedding photos spread all over the world. And in February 2013, an event happened that Nick dreamed of almost more than marriage - his first son was born. Today the couple already has two sons. They are absolutely healthy and truly proud of their father. “My life, my destiny is clear proof that miracles happen in this world,” says Nick.

His formula for happiness can be summed up in 12 rules. 12 tips learned over 33 years of life as a millionaire who doesn't even have fingerprints and gives lectures about 250 times a year!

1. Don’t lose hope, it conquers death

I used to worry that I would never have a wife, that I would never, ever be able to have children in my life. But now I have a wife, Kanae, and two wonderful sons - three years and eight months. The eldest, Kiyoshi is already taller than me. I used to worry that I would never be able to hold my wife’s hand, that I would not be able to hug my children when they were feeling bad. But now Kiyoshi is hugging me. He says “high five” and hits me on the shoulder. Now I realize that it doesn't matter if I can hold Kanae's hand, as long as I always hold her heart.

2. If it doesn’t work, try again. Do the best you can

I was surfing in Hawaii one day. Everyone on the beach looked - a man without arms, without legs wants to ride! I was lying on the board and people were pushing me onto the wave. My friends placed a stack of towels on the board for me to lean on and lift myself up. I tried to get up 15 times. And nothing worked for me.

But my parents taught me: if something doesn’t work out, try again. If something doesn't work out, it doesn't mean you're a failure. If others see your failure, do not humiliate yourself. It's okay if you can't do something. It's okay if you don't have everything. But you can strive for it.

And I tried again and again to get on the board. And you know, when I finally got up, I thought: “Oh God, what should I do now!?”

3. Don’t limit your own joy

Many people do not enjoy life simply because they limit it. You've probably seen a video on YouTube about how I like to joke on airplanes. Sometimes I ask to be put in the carry-on luggage rack. And once I took a pilot’s suit from my friend, he works for a commercial airline, and met passengers in this suit. You should have seen their faces!

Remember, sometimes circumstances dictate what you have, but what you have should not determine the joy within you. Don't let people's opinions or events bring you down.

4. Don't be afraid of hard work

They tell me that you are from Australia. But even there, not everything is paved with gold. When my parents moved from Yugoslavia, they only had clothes. Only the one they were wearing. They worked hard. And I was always told to do this.

I was not allowed to be a “bad” boy. They didn't give me money for toys. I had to earn them. I vacuumed the house for two dollars a week. And then he was free to decide what to do with this money - buy toys or give to the poor.

5. Be grateful for what you have

Being grateful to your family is just the beginning. I love my “leg” very much. Just because I don't have arms and legs doesn't mean I can be depressed. Thanks to my small leg I can swim, I have been diving. I even jumped with a parachute.

Yes, when I went to school and everyone teased me, it was very difficult to be grateful. But then I realized that everyone has problems. And perhaps having an alcoholic father is worse than not having arms and legs. We must give thanks for what we have and pray for those who cannot.

6. Hit the ball before it hits you.

Once I was playing football with my friend. He warned me that he would kick me now so that I would have time to get ready. And then I see the ball flying towards me. And I don't know how to fight back. I want to hit the ball before it hits me. I think - with my head, but it’s too low for my head. Kick? But I won't get it. And then everything was like in “The Matrix” - a slow motion effect. I jump, hit the ball and seriously injure my leg. I can't walk for three weeks. And when I was lying on the bed, looking at the ceiling, then for the first time I thought: “So this is how disabled people feel.”

7. Go to the goal

There were two people who inspired me to perform. The first is Philip, he could not walk or talk. He had osteomyelitis (this is when the body shuts down in parts). He was 25 years old when we met. He made a website and tried to inspire people, restore their faith in life.

And the second person is a janitor at the school. He said, “You will be a speaker and tell people your story.” I want you to know that he was an older man and I respected him. But I had no intention of becoming a speaker. I was going to be an accountant. But he told me this every day for three months.

In the end, I agreed to speak. Then I realized that I could inspire people too. It doesn't matter who you are, whether you walk or talk, there is a purpose in your life.

8. Don't invest happiness in temporary things, otherwise it will be temporary.

My father said - you have to work. But try to get people to work for you. You will have to pay them for doing for you what you cannot. You have responsibility for yourself.

And I feel this responsibility. I am complete, I have arms and legs, I know my purpose. I have peace, strength and truth. I don't need money, power, drugs, alcohol or pornography to feel happy. These are temporary things and happiness from them cannot last long.

9. Accept yourself for who you are

Girls, you don't need a new pair of shoes to be happy. You don't need a boyfriend to be happy. Look for a husband who will love you, and when difficulties begin, he will not leave.

Guys think you have to swear sometimes to be cool. Or build bigger biceps. But my biceps were so big that they fell off.

Understand that the pain and dissatisfaction you feel was given to you by the devil. But even from your broken pieces, God can make something beautiful. The main thing is to accept yourself, understand who you are and what you want.

10. Dream and your dreams will come true

Just because we don't believe in something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. But if we never think about something, then we are not looking for it. If we don't look, we won't find it. If we don't find it, it means we'll never get it. It's simple.

Dreams become reality, miracles become reality. I'm not saying it's simple. For example, I will never become a football player. But I can be a happy person. Happiness was written in my future. I believe in it.

11. Focus on what you can do

I asked nine-year-old children: “Have you ever been stressed?” And they said yes. Hard homework, bad teacher. I asked 13-year-olds. They said that everything annoyed them - friends, parents, their own changing body. When I was 17, people told me they were stressed about finishing school. “If I go to university, everything will be fine,” they said. But nothing changed. Then they will say: “If only I had found a job...”. And at work they will be annoyed by their boss. All unmarried people think that they are not happy because they have to find a husband or wife. “When I find myself a husband, everything will be wonderful!”

Noooo!

If you are not happy without your husband, then you will not be happy with him. Focus on what you already have. On what you can do now. Don't wait for your husband, your job, or the end of your exams to do what makes you happy!

12. Make good choices, they produce good results.

The decisions I made before immobilized me. I thought: “You have no arms and legs, no one except your parents loves you, you are a burden for everyone, there will be no job, no wife, no purpose.”

But believe that God has a plan for you. If he has a plan for the armless and powerless Nick Vujicic, then rest assured, he has one for you too.

If you haven't received a miracle yourself, become a miracle for someone else. After all, in the end, time and love are the two main currencies. Every day answer yourself the question: who are you and what do you want? Do what you can. Remember the poor. Pray. Inspire.

Thank you!

Nick said all this from the stage. He was brought to the podium in a wheelchair, he was taken away from there in a wheelchair. But the whole hall froze from his courage and sincerity. The whole audience laughed at his jokes about his knees trembling before a parachute jump, about “not feeling his legs” when he met his wife, about his hands sweating from excitement before the most important football match of his life. There was a standing ovation. And then they let all the wheelchair users go forward for a “hug” with the legend.

So, Nick, the long-awaited first-born, was born with a very serious pathology - the child was missing all his limbs. In other words, the baby had neither arms nor legs, and only in place of his left leg did he have some kind of foot with two toes.

Nick Vujicic was born in 1982 in Brisbane, Australia, into a family of Serbian immigrants. However, calling this event - the birth of a son - a joy for his parents could only be called very conditional. So, Nick, the long-awaited first-born, was born with a very serious pathology - the child was missing all his limbs. In other words, the baby had neither arms nor legs, and only in place of his left leg did he have some kind of foot with two toes. The boy's father, who was present at the birth, could not believe his eyes; he left the delivery room, barely seeing one of the baby's shoulders, which did not end with an arm. Later, barely alive from excitement, he turned to the doctor: “... My son... Doesn’t he have an arm?” The doctor’s answer was unequivocal: “The baby does not have both arms and both legs.”

Then the entire maternity ward cried - nurses, midwives and even seasoned doctors. No one dared to show the baby to the mother, who was no longer able to find a place for herself from excitement.

And yet, be that as it may, the time has come to decide what to do with the unfortunate, but at the same time their desired son. It is not difficult to imagine the state of the parents of a newborn - they watched their baby in a kind of stupor, and no one even dared to imagine how he could adapt, and whether he could adapt at all, to the world around him.

Questions, questions, questions... Can such a person be happy? And does he need life at all? On the other hand, if life has already been given to him, can they even think about whether he needs it? However, while the parents looked at their child with a mixture of fear and pity, the baby also began to look closely at the outside world in his own way. At the same time, Nick was “healthy” - that is, despite all his terrible congenital defects, the rest of his body worked properly. Moreover, the baby wanted to live!

So, after several months of confusion, after a sea of tears and devastation, Nick's parents resigned themselves and began to simply live. His mother later said that at that time they did not dare to look into the future for a long time - they simply set themselves small tasks and solved problems one by one, in small steps.

So, the life of a little Australian named Nick began in a difficult, painful and very unusual way. As a child, he did not think at all about how much and in what way he differed from his peers.

Depression came later as Nick Vujicic grew older. The first suicide attempt occurred at the age of 8 years. So, it was at this age that the boy began to suffer and suffer because of his shortcomings, and it was then that he realized that it was useless to ask God every night to give him legs and arms. God, unfortunately, remained deaf to his prayers. He later admitted that every morning he was ready to wake up with new arms and legs, but with each new morning these hopes became more and more elusive. Hope was replaced by disappointment. The electronic hands that his parents bought for him did not help either - they turned out to be too heavy for the baby, and Nick continued to live and use only the semblance of the left leg that he received at birth.

It wasn’t easy for Nick’s parents either, who had the difficult task of explaining to their son why God didn’t love him, why he not only didn’t help him, but even completely took away from him what he was entitled to by nature – ordinary arms and legs?

So, one day Nick asked to be taken to the bath - and there he suddenly realized that even drowning himself was too difficult for him. It was then that the boy imagined his possible funeral - the inconsolable parents who loved him so much, and whom he himself loved. It was at that moment, as he admitted later, that he once and for all stopped thinking about suicide.

However, this did not make life any easier or softer. Despite the fact that Nick's parents managed to get the authorities to ensure that their son went to a normal, regular school, his classmates and peers refused to play with him. Indeed, Nick could not do anything - neither kick the ball, nor catch it, nor catch up, nor run away.

But the boy held on - he tried to be “like everyone else”, tried his best. So, he went to school, studied well, could write, learned not only to walk and swim, but also to skateboard and use a computer.

He also spent a lot of time thinking about God. So, it was in his faith that he learned to draw strength. Nick was sure that if God created him this way, then this is exactly how God needs him. And, therefore, you should search, and most importantly, find your purpose. And the fact that Nick had this very purpose, and it was very important, left no doubt.

The answer came to the young man when he was already a student at Griffith University, where he studied financial planning. So, having once received an offer to speak to students, Nick simply told them what he knew. By the end of his short, regimented speech, many in the hall were crying. One of the girls even jumped on stage to hug Nick. And later, upon returning home, he announced to his parents that he understood once and for all what he could and wanted to do in life - Nick Vuychich wanted to talk to people - he wanted to be a speaker, a preacher.

He firmly decided not to stay within four walls and not stand still - in front of him was a whole open world, full of people with their suffering and troubles. And Nick felt that he had something to say to each of these people.

From that time on, his wanderings began, during which Vujicic traveled to more than two dozen countries, delivering 250 speeches a year. And offers to perform continued to exceed Nick’s capabilities.

Nick Vujicic's first book, Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life, was published in 2010. By the way, he typed his book on his own on a computer, developing a very decent speed for a person without hands.

Today Nick lives in California, and on February 12, 2012, he married the beautiful Kanae Miyahara. His life is full of both work and relaxation - in his free time from lectures and writing, Nick plays golf, likes to fish and surf.

When Nick falls, and he does fall often, he first rests on his forehead, then on his shoulders, and every time he gets up. And in these falls, and, most importantly, rises, lies the philosophy of Nick Vujicic:

“It happens in life that you fall, and it seems you have no strength to get up. Then you wonder if you have hope... I have neither arms nor legs!.. But after another defeat I do not give up hope. I will try time after time. I want you to know that failure is not the end. It's how you finish that matters."
