How to make a car out of paper. Origami racing car. Folding instructions. Origami paper machine for children Paper race diagram

Cars appeal to very young children, and this interest does not go away for a long time. For some, it develops into a more serious hobby, and then the children enter the appropriate clubs, for others it remains at the play level. But why not make yourself a toy, even for a short time? There are quite a lot of options for how to make a paper machine, and young inventors are not limited to origami methods alone. However, even static cars made from sheets of paper can participate in impromptu races. There is a way to make them move on the table: you just need to blow on the light structure, and it will “move.”

How to make an origami machine out of paper

By folding a piece of paper, you can get a stylized object that does not have many of the functions that you would like to give it. Usually, children do not limit themselves to putting up a figurine made using the origami technique and admiring it. It is important for them to make a toy. A frog must either open its mouth or jump, an airplane must fly, which means the car must be made to move. In order for it to at least stand on four “wheels”, it must be assembled absolutely symmetrical.

Assembling a simple paper machine using the origami technique looks like this step by step:

  • Prepare a square sheet of paper.
  • It needs to be folded in half along either side.
  • We bend the opposite sides of the paper square to the resulting center line (1).
  • Now you need to bend the sides outward. In this case, the edges of the paper will be turned in opposite directions (2).
  • The workpiece needs to be lifted, the central fold in it needs to be bent in the same direction as the side folds. The result will be something like a mountain range: the middle mountain is high, the other two are low.
  • On a large “mountain” you need to step back from the center to the distance of the length of the roof of our car. It will be good if this distance does not become large. The “mountain” should be bent inward along the edges, and then the bending lines will be beveled towards the outer edges of the sheet, and the corners will protrude below the workpiece (3).
  • These corners will become the “wheels” of the paper machine. We need to get four "wheels" so that the car can stand. Each protruding corner should be bent in the direction opposite to the fold of the “mountain” (4). Then a couple of gentle ledges will emerge, and the structure can stand on them, as if on wheels.
  • And the final touch is the formation of the hood and trunk (5).

DIY paper cars - diagrams

No matter how hard you try to make a car capable of driving from a square sheet, without cutting anything out of it, it’s unlikely that anything serious will come of this idea. It is impossible to repeat exactly the outline of a modern passenger car so that it looks just as streamlined and swift in appearance simply by folding paper. This will require a different technology where scissors are applicable. Making a car out of paper by first drawing and cutting out a pattern is the best way to repeat the complex shapes conceived by car designers.

Option 2

If you are good at drawing, spatial imagination and imagination, then you can easily create a car of the future in the form of a paper model. It is better to make a futuristic concept car from a denser material - colored cardboard, then you can teach it to “drive”. The wheels of such a machine are cut out separately. It is better to work not with scissors, but to cut out circles with a pointed tube in order to get not a polygonal outline, but a truly even circle. It is important to correctly find the middle of a circle so as not to get an eccentric. A hole is carefully made in the middle, into which the toothpick axle will then fit. Ideally, the toothpick passes from opposite sides through the body of the machine made of paper (cardboard) and through two cardboard wheels.

When the size of the machine allows, it is convenient to make wheels from plastic caps from water bottles. Here, too, it is important not to make a mistake with the middle in order to avoid beats when the “vehicle” moves.

Option 2

Volumetric 3D paper cars

When you need a static fleet of vehicles in the form of a collection of models, it is good to make cars out of paper using ready-made designs. You can find many collections of similar scans on websites, and the only thing left is to download the images and print them on a color printer. It is preferable to use a laser printing device, because its ink is “welded” tightly to the paper. After an inkjet printer, color ink may leak if accidentally exposed to water.

When making such a machine from paper, do not forget about the connecting valves, by which one part is glued to another. There is a high chance of creasing the paper inside when you have to press the part coated with glue against the valve. It is better to place some object in advance that has, say, a right angle, and press it with it. For example, an eraser. Small rounded parts can be pressed with the side surface of a pencil or pen.

It is often recommended to join paper parts with PVA glue, but often the paper from such glue takes on a wavy shape, which will immediately affect the appearance of the car. It is better to use silicate glue, otherwise called liquid glass. If you can’t glue a paper car neatly, then it’s better to choose rubber glue: you can roll up the excess by running your fingers over it. The resulting pellets are easily separated from the paper. It is more convenient to assemble cardboard “equipment” using superglue.

How to make a paper car that moves

And yet, how to make a paper car so that the model can move? You can make something like a racing car with spinning wheels from a toilet paper tube. It will become the skeleton of the machine, but for beauty the tube should be covered with colored paper. The axles are made from toothpicks, the wheels are cut out of cardboard. In the middle part of the tube you need to cut a U-shaped hole and bend this piece. It will become the back of the driver's seat. A paper steering wheel is attached to the opposite side of the hole. You can also make a windshield for each “car”. A safe option is to make a paper frame and glue the film from any gift box with a “window” to it. The convex glass can be made from part of a plastic bottle, but this material is insidious in that its cuts are often sharp, and a child playing with the car can cut himself.

Another option for making a paper car drive is to use buttons as wheels. They usually have four thread holes. The wooden axle can be split at the edges into four beams and inserted into the holes of the button. It will also be possible to create an axle from wire, but you will have to thread it like a thread into all four holes. If the axle is thick, then you can simply break out the partitions between the holes in the buttons with pliers and tuck it into the resulting hole.

Video lessons: how to make a car out of cardboard

There are many options on how to make a paper car, and those who watch the video will be able to get acquainted with each one. It is difficult, for example, to make a racing car out of paper using the origami technique if you do not see the entire process. Careful work with developments is more understandable, however, there are also small tricks that are easier to learn from videos with master classes.

Creating crafts for parents and children gives excellent results: there is an active development of abstract thinking, finger motor skills, creative skills and, of course, imagination.

Every boy will be interested in learning how to make a simple craft in the form of a cardboard car for children. Therefore, the task of caring parents is to suggest the right direction for the creative process, purchase the necessary materials and stock up on a wonderful mood for an exciting game with their children with cars.

Racing cars

Cars made of paper and cardboard occupy a special place among crafts for kids. Entertaining little ones every day with toys from the store is quite an expensive pleasure. In addition, the child quickly gets bored with the same toys. Therefore, we suggest taking advantage of the master class without unwanted financial investments.

You will need toilet paper rolls, which should be covered with multi-colored paper. As soon as the adhesive composition has dried, it is necessary to make a rectangular cutout on the rolls, without cutting to the end on one of the sides, and by bending the paper, it will be like a seat for the driver.

You can color the inside of this seat using a marker. Using snow-white cardboard, you need to cut out a circle and stick it on the side opposite from the seat - this is the steering wheel, which should also be painted.

Decorate your car with applications made from a contrasting shade of paper. Glue the wheels with bolts or lids from plastic containers.

Now you know how to create a racing car out of cardboard, thanks to the car-themed craft workshop discussed above.

Fire trucks

To create such a craft, you will need matchboxes and colorful paper. Four boxes should be glued together. The created structure must be covered with red paper. Another matchbox must also be pasted over and then glued at the top of the turret.

Using plasticine, you should create a flashing light, a mount for a ladder formed from pre-glued matches. Next, you need to add windows to the car, as well as headlights, using yellow paper.

Origami machine

Adherents of Japanese art will appreciate the beautiful crafts on the theme of an origami machine made from cardboard. This technique was invented when cars did not exist. But progress is constantly moving forward, and now many schemes for folding origami products have been proposed. These include three-dimensional options, schematic figures, and a fairly accurate model.

Let's take a closer look at the instructions for making a Volkswagen car with your own hands. For these purposes, watch the video on the resource called origami car.

Thus, the scheme for assembling such a car is considered the personal development of Esseltine, who gave it to those who like the art of origami.

It is important to understand that the expected result when creating three-dimensional origami products can be obtained by using a special paper sheet for such crafts. It has the required rigidity for ease of manufacture and creation of folds, while the finished car will perfectly hold its given shape.

Convertible made of cardboard

You can make an original convertible, as in the photo of car crafts, yourself using triangular modules. Folding should begin from the hood. Its width should reach eight modules; we are gradually moving on to glass production.

In order for the paper structure to withstand many modules, as well as thin elements, we use an adhesive substance, and instead of the bottom we use cardboard paper, to which the parts are glued. This trick will enable the product to acquire maximum strength.

Papercraft kits

If you are wondering what kind of car can be made for kindergarten, then papercraft kits will help you. They are templates for cutting out parts, which subsequently, through bending and gluing paper parts, are transformed into machines of extraordinary beauty, reminiscent of a real car.

Similar models can be used to decorate a toy track drawn on thick paper. In this version, it will completely resemble the real one, since various cars will ride on it, so much like the large prototypes.

We create paper car diagrams

Do you want to assemble children's Papercraft cars, but there is no way to purchase ready-made templates? Then Runet can help! Here you will find countless recommendations on how to create cars from cardboard, diagrams that help you create and cut out the model you like.

The series offered on the pages of magazines include a variety of service vehicles, without which it is impossible to imagine exciting children's games: tractor, ambulance, excavator, dump truck and many others. Collectors of vintage cars will be pleased with the different options from the 20s. It was during these times that a car was considered a great luxury

For competent and quick assembly, the minimum required is to cut out automotive elements from the cardboard on which the drawing will be printed.

Pay special attention to unpainted elements, that is, snow-white areas are areas for gluing. It is on their surface that you should apply a small amount of glue when you bend them, and also attach the elements.

Choose the simplest white glue, as it will not leave any marks on the product, but will firmly hold the attached elements.

It is unknown, but it is likely that your child’s hobby of collecting paper cars will become the most interesting and entertaining hobby for many years, will provide a unique opportunity to fully understand the nuances of mechanics, and will contribute to fully learning how a real machine works.

It is possible that if parents support their children’s passion for cars, it is possible that they will take an active part in choosing a suitable profession for their child.

Paper race: how to make a paper race.

I once told you about my childhood, but I didn’t tell you about what toys I played with. Now I remember that my brother and I really loved making paper boats and sending them on “long voyages”, folding airplanes and sending them flying out of the window (fortunately, we lived on the third floor and the flight did not end immediately). We also loved making paper races.

Somewhere we were able to do racing like this, or even better. Oh, how we tried to paint them with a pen so that they looked like real racing cars! They tried to iron each line evenly and clearly, because not only the beauty, but also the speed of the race depended on this.

When playing with these paper toys, we always had the effect of competition: whose boat will sail farthest, whose airplane will last longer, whose race will go the farthest. And so we adored them and made them endlessly.

Nowadays everyone can make ships and airplanes, but what about racing?

Step-by-step photo tutorial. How to make a paper race.

As you can see, I took a slightly long strip of paper. I have 6 squares left on my tail! It's a lot. We must try to choose a length so that the “tail” is not so large, because this makes our race heavier, which affects its speed and range. Optimally - 2-3 cells.

To make crafting more fun, you can watch a cartoon before (or during) it. “Meteor and cool cars”, for example 😉

How to make a race out of paper / All about needlework!

Homemade toys are much more exciting for children than store-bought toys. Children's interest in the latter fades quite quickly, and a child is unlikely to quickly forget and abandon a toy that has been lovingly assembled by hand. Probably all children love to play racing games and you can teach your children to make racing cars out of paper that can be used in children's games.

Instructions

  1. Take colored paper, not too thin, but not too thick. Cut out a rectangular piece of paper.
  2. Fold it in half lengthwise and iron the fold, then bend the upper right corner of the sheet to the opposite side, and then straighten it and repeat the same action with the second upper corner. This will create a corner crease at the top of the rectangle.
  3. Fold the top edge of the rectangle along this fold, forming a triangle and folding its edges inward. On the opposite end of the paper sheet, repeat all the steps described above - bend the extreme corners, and then bend the edge of the rectangle into the shape of a triangular element. Make sure that both edges of the rectangle are symmetrical and the same.
  4. Place the figurine horizontally in front of you, and then bend the long sides along with the triangular edges along to the center fold line of the workpiece. Iron the folds carefully. Select the edge of the workpiece that will become the front part of the machine and bend the edges of this triangle up.
  5. After this, bend the workpiece in half across. Place the two “wings” that you got after the previous step, when you folded the two edges of the triangle up, into the “pocket” above the triangular element at the back of the future machine.
  6. Shape the rear edge of the machine by hand by bending it slightly and tucking the back panel inward. Make several paper cars in different colors and have races at home.
