Meridians and types of energy

Meridians and types of energy

Even in ancient times, vital points were discovered through which human health can be stimulated. Subsequently, order was found in the location of these points - the points were located along strictly defined lines, called meridians or channels (Fig. 1). Circulation Qi in them obeys the internal biological clock (Fig. 2). In the process of this circulation, the interaction of all organs occurs, and through points located along the meridians, communication with the environment is carried out.

Rice. 1. Passage of energy along the meridians of the arms and legs

Energy Qi(corresponding to the Indian understanding of “prana”) circulates in the body, sequentially flowing through all twelve meridians, starting with the lung meridian and ending with the liver meridian, constantly returning again to the lung meridian. Energy circulation occurs in a certain order and taking into account the so-called “optimal time” of each organ. There are twelve main channels in the human body Qi(actually we are talking about pairs of channels, each of which runs on one side of the body). In the drawings of the location of meridians in the human body, only one meridian from a given pair is shown, the second runs in a similar way, only on the other side of the body (Fig. 1). These channels can be compared to river beds. Six of these channels connect to the fingers, the other six to the toes. Each of the twelve channels is associated with a specific internal organ.

Rice. 2. Time of energy circulation along the meridians

Ancient Chinese doctors discovered that in addition to 12 constant meridians, there are also non-permanent ones, formed due to pathology or when circulation is disrupted Qi simultaneously in several constant meridians. They're called wonderful meridians and serve as original reservoirs with the help of which the level of Qi in the remaining twelve channels. These include the anteromedial - Ren-Mai (see Fig. 3) and the posteromedial meridian - Du-mai (see Fig. 4). They are, as it were, intermediate between permanent and non-permanent channels - May. Energy always circulates through them from bottom to top.

Millions of small channels (lo) bring Qi from the main channels to every part of the body, from the skin to the bone marrow. If in any of the twelve channels Qi stagnates, the organ associated with the channel will not be able to receive the required amount of energy. This will cause dysfunction of this organ or, at least, its faster decrepitude. If this state of affairs is not corrected, the result may be illness, as well as premature old age. Your organs need a certain amount to function properly. Qi, like an electric machine, which requires electric current with the appropriate characteristics to operate. Therefore, the most important way to maintain organ health is to maintain a balanced and uniform flow Qi.

Principal meridians located in depth. They end in half or roach. There are 12 of these meridians - six Yin and six Yang, which pass, respectively, in the Yin and Yang parts of the body, in depth. We will talk about them in more detail later when we look at the elements.

The meridians in the human body are located in such a way that if you raise your hands up, the Yang meridians will run from top to bottom along the outer part of the body, and the Yin meridians will run along the inner surface from bottom to top (see Fig. 1).

Special meridians start from the main ones, being, as it were, their secondary channels.

Special meridians are located partly superficially, partly deep. Therefore, they separate the superficial and deep circulation of energy. The special ones, like the main ones, unite, alternating in pairs of Yin-Yang, roach and half. Special meridians begin near large joints, in the armpits, groin, and under the knees.

Each main meridian has a special one. Special ones run deeper than the tendon-muscular ones and can be higher or deeper than the main ones. Special meridians are connected to the internal organs and control them, flowing only into the Yang meridians.

The meridians become “blocked” as a result of illness, physical or nervous stress, poor nutrition, injury, lack of physical activity or incorrect ways of thinking.

However, they can be “opened”, forcing energy to pass through previously closed areas of the body - various methods are used for this.

Tendon-muscle meridians located superficially, there are also 12 of them. They pass approximately along the same trajectories as the main meridians, but along the surface, at the level of the skin in the grooves, and are not connected with the internal organs.

It should be remembered that tendons tend to accumulate gross energy as they cannot maintain their normal functioning. If they do not work properly, then the junction of the tendons and muscles begin to tighten and absorb a certain amount of energy. This is the energy that is not processed in the body. When it stagnates, it becomes rude. As a result, the tendons begin to dry out, becoming rigid and inelastic. Particularly important are the elbows, knees and groin folds. These are exactly the places that are pinched by the edges of the underwear, creating additional obstacles to the flow of energy. Many women's diseases are associated with pinching the area under the breasts (bra) and along the edges of panties. If we remember the shape of women's underwear that was worn quite recently and the number of diseases, then much will become clear. Therefore, certain places in the human body cannot be pinched or bandaged with clothing, as energy blocks and diseases quickly arise. Although sometimes some elements of clothing and jewelry were used in ancient times to create protective energy circles. Belts and bracelets served as amulets and protected the body from wasting effort.

Constant work with tendons: pulling, stretching and twisting are associated precisely with the release of energy. It is recommended to do this regularly in order to be healthy and harmonious. It should be noted that the energy blocked in the tendons, in the area of the elbows, knees and groin is necessary for the body for protective functions and development. Released, it provides the necessary vitality, and the body stops aging. Many people know that older people generally have stiff and inelastic tendons. Working with tendons allows you to restore their missing flexibility.

Concerning main meridians , – each of them has two hours of maximum activity and two hours of maximum passivity during the day. Undoubtedly, the sun influences the work of the meridians in the human body, so the circle of work of the meridians can be confidently superimposed on the circle of passage of the sun (see Fig. 2).

Many manuals talk about a clear correspondence of meridian activity to certain hours, but you should not get attached to this. Most often, the time in Moscow is indicated, if it is recalculated at all from Chinese time. In addition, with regard to maternity time, several shifts have already been made both regarding the seasons and the government’s presentation in order to save electricity. However, our body continues to function, adhering to the cycles of sunrise and sunset. Undoubtedly, an increase in daylight hours due to artificial lighting introduces shifts in the work of the meridian circle, but these shifts create serious disruptions in the flow of energy along the meridians.

The first book already talked a little about energy Qi– the energy of life circulating in the air, plants, animals.

In the human body, this energy manifests itself in three forms:

1. Parental energy- as it were, the chromosomal energy of a species that characterizes an individual (race, mental strengths and weaknesses, etc.)

2. Energy that nourishes internal organsIN. This energy is obtained by the body from food and liquids.

3. Cosmic Qi– air energy entering the body through breathing.

Energy circulates cyclically in space and time, in space and in man.

Each of the three human energies can have the forms of Yin and Yang.

Progenitor(hereditary) – individual energy. Its depletion leads to aging and death. This is a qualitative energy associated primarily with semen or blood. This is the formative energy that is necessary for existence. Primordial Energy Jing Yuan (Yuan Jing), transmitted from parents and formed upon connection ching father and ching mother. The place of concentration of this energy is the kidneys, although it is also concentrated in the glands and Yin organs: liver, lungs, spleen. This energy is one of the most important sources of life and growth; it is distributed throughout the body, supporting its vital functions.

At the moment of conception, the Qi of the father and mother merges, forming Primordial Qi unborn child, that is, his hereditary energy . The amount of original Qi is always limited and is constantly spent throughout life. When is the entire quantity exhausted? hereditary energy Even a person who does not look sick dies.

There is another type of energy - sexy essence jing , which begins to accumulate in the prenatal period of fetal development. Jing is closely related to hereditary energy and determines in adulthood the level of sexual potency of a man and the reproductive ability of a woman, as well as the level of health of the body as a whole. As a result of sexual intercourse and the onset of orgasm, Jing is wasted: either burns without a trace, or is spent on education hereditary energy child.

Energy Jing It is naturally activated during a person’s arousal, both sexual and emotional. The state of aggression and increased excitement, as well as strong emotional experience, is associated with the activation of this energy, which begins to drive and redistribute Qi.

Hereditary energy depends on the lunar months and has a certain rhythm. Among women Jing associated with the liver and mammary glands, as well as the ovaries.

Ancestor Energy circulates in wonderful channels.

Nutritious Ying-Qi energy controls the balance of internal organs, its level is maintained by air and food.

It is also called Basic Qi (Zong Qi) or light energy of Rong Qi and controls the respiratory function of the lungs and the functioning of the cardiovascular system. It arises from liquids and food, nourishes all organs and tissues, and ultimately leads to the formation of blood.

Nutrient energy is located mainly in the Middle Warmer, which turns it into blood, which forms a single whole with it from the physical and energetic side. Its source is the lungs (there it is from 3 to 5 o’clock) and the stomach.

It is this energy that circulates for two hours in each limb and in 24 hours passes through all 12 main channels, starting with the lungs.

Nutrient Energy Ying saturates the floor and roach, circulating in the main meridians. Polvo and roach have an energy reserve from the moment of their formation. Disturbances in the energy environment change the curve of human energy development (which has a maximum and a decrease) and shorten life. Reserves must be constantly replenished to work on the restructuring of the cellular elements of the body.

The circulation of nutritional energy is deep and difficult to damage. Often, to influence the circulation of energy in the meridians, they use certain points on them and perform actions that can tone - Boo or slow down - Xie its course. However, thoughtless use of toning (boo) and braking (se) energy in the meridians can cause great harm, leading to concentration or depletion of energy (Qi) in the internal organs responsible for maintaining balance.

Along its course, energy Qi defined as useful And harmful .

And according to the functions performed in the body Qi can be divided into five categories:

1. Hereditary Qi – regulates and harmonizes breathing and heartbeat. In addition, it moves blood Qi.

2. Protective energyWEI(anti-stress). It circulates mainly over the surface of the body, regulates temperature and sweating, and warms the organs.

3. Feeding energy – closely related to blood. During digestion, it helps absorb nutrients and distribute them throughout the body.

4. Meridian Qi – this part of Qi moves in the body along all meridians, making constant transformations.

5. Organ Qi – breathes life into all organs and carries out their functions.

Protective energy Wei. Everything that remains from the processing of foods and fluids in the body and is not included in the structureNourishing Qi, goes to the formation of the body's defenses.

Energy imbalances often occur due to meteorological changes. In the atmosphere, pressure, ionization, rhythms of winds and rains, humidity, and temperature are constantly changing. It has been observed that at certain times of the year, various internal organs experience the same characteristic problems. For example, at the beginning of autumn, the lungs have to adapt to colder air. In the process of adaptation, the lungs become vulnerable to all sorts of adverse influences, so that a person can easily catch a cold. The digestive system is also subject to seasonal changes: for example, appetite may increase or indigestion may suddenly occur. Certain problems with the kidneys and bladder appear when the ambient temperature drops. If there is excess strain on the kidneys, you may experience lower back pain. The change of seasons leads to seasonal diseases: runny nose and pulmonary diseases - in autumn and winter, diarrhea, liver and intestinal diseases - in spring and summer.

Rice. 3. Anterior median meridian (Ren-Mai)

The body protects itself with Wei protective energy , a particular form of energy manifestation Qi. Wei Energy circulates over the entire surface of the skin, regulates the opening and closing of pores, the function of sweat glands, blood circulation, and sensitivity. Its nature is mainly Yang, the paths are the tendon-muscle meridians lying on the surface of the body, but then it penetrates into the depths, protecting the internal organs, through the wonderful control channel Du-Mai (posterior medial) (Fig. 4) penetrates into the head and the spinal cord, then through the wonderful Ren-Mai canal (anteromedian) (Fig. 3) rises in the center in front to the neck and turns to the back of the head. Moving along this path, it regulates the temperature.

Rice. 4. Meridian posterior median (Du-Mai)

Internal protective energy Wei – a special form of protective energy Wei, it manifests itself during injuries, after operations, restoring and healing damaged areas. It circulates in special meridians, where pathogenic energy can penetrate from the outside, striving to enter the main meridians. Protective energy tends to deflect it into special meridians, blocking the path to the internal organs.

This is due to the fact that damage to a special meridian is considered not so dangerous. Thus, the protective energy preserves the nutritional energy of In.

Protective energy always begins from the outer and inner sides of the nail bed. Therefore, it is important to keep these places in a state of Yang (activity).

Perverted energy can affect special meridians, bypassing the main ones, penetrating through the small capillary channels of special meridians, and entering the internal organs. This happens when the energy of the main meridians is strong and does not allow perverted energy to enter.

The perverted energy is expelled from the internal organs by Wei energy, circulating according to the daily rhythm, and pain occurs every time. If, for example, a disease occurs on the right side of the body due to lack of energy, then an excess of energy automatically arises on the left side.

If there is a lack of energy in the body, perverted energy can act, filling this deficiency. As a result, an excess is formed on both sides: on the one hand - normal energy, on the other - perverted.

External influences cause pain on the surface of the body, the paths of their irradiation (spread) correspond to the channels of protective energy, and not to the nerve trunks and not to the channels of classical acupuncture.

The protective energy of Wei in the organs repeats the movement of Ying in space and time.

In space, Ying energy moves from east to south, then west and north. The Sun also moves and Yang and Yin develop.

In other words, the protective energy of Wei moves from the liver (corresponding to the east, spring) to the heart (south, summer), to the spleen (center, late summer), then to the lungs (west, autumn) and then to the kidneys (north, winter).

This is a normal CREATION CYCLE, energy passes from one organ to another, like a son after a mother.

The liver is the mother of the heart,

Spring is the mother of summer.

Ancient Chinese philosophy understands the word “health” as the harmonious distribution of chi energy along 12 paired (left and right) meridians of the body. Diseases disrupt energetic harmony, which is expressed in the occurrence of an excess of energy in one meridian with an obligatory lack of it in the other. A disease can be cured only by reducing the energy level in the meridian with excess energy and increasing the amount of energy in the meridian with its deficiency. Ancient Chinese medicine has developed a list of laws for creating energy balance in the body. This chapter is devoted to a description of these laws.

Daily cyclicality of energy movement along the meridians

Ancient Chinese medical philosophy speaks of the existence of two cycles of the movement of Chi energy through 12 acupuncture channels: daily and annual. Let us give a brief summary of the doctrine of the daily cycle of energy.
1. Daily movement of energy.

During the day, energy passes through 12 meridians. Its excess does not fill all channels, but flows into one of them every 2 hours. The movement of energy begins from the lung meridian, where it remains from 3 to 5 am. Next, the meridians of the large intestine (from 5 to 7 am), stomach (from 7 to 9), spleen (from 9 to 11), heart (from 11 to 13), small intestine (from 13 to 15), bladder are oversaturated with energy (from 15 to 17), kidney (from 17 to 19), pericardium (from 19 to 21), three heaters (from 21 to 23), gallbladder (from 23 to 1) and liver (from 1 to 3 am) . See table 2.

Figure 24. Daily cycle of energy movement along the 12 standard meridians.

Figure 25. Sequence of meridian connections in the daily cycle.

Since energy cycles throughout the day, it moves from the last meridian of the liver to the first meridian of the lungs at 3 am. The daily cycle of energy can be represented by the following formula:

→ → P → GI → E → RP → C → IG → V → R → MS → TR → VB → F →→
→ → P → …………………………………………………………………………………..→ F →→

Excess energy simultaneously moves along two closed curves - along the 12 meridians of the right and left sides of the body. In fact, excess energy occurs in two meridians at once: the left and right meridians of the lungs, the left and right meridians of the stomach, etc. If you mark the meridians on a watch dial, the clock hand will show the movement of excess energy in a circle. See Figure 24. If you extend the arrow to the opposite side from the axis of rotation, it will point to the meridian, which at this time has a lack of energy. If the meridians are combined into pairs (a meridian with a deficiency and an excess of energy), then the movement of energy will have the form shown in the figure.

2. The physical reason for the movement of energy.

The existence of a daily cycle of movement of biocurrents in the human body can be explained as follows. Astrophysics has proven that the Sun has a positive electrical charge, since its plasma consists of 100% positively charged protons (p +). The human body has a negative electrical charge, since its surface is saturated with electrons (e -), which are continuously produced by biological generators of electricity. The positive electrical charge of the Sun constantly attracts negative charges located on the surface of the human body. Attraction creates an increased concentration of charges (free, static electrons) on the surface of the human body in the place closest to the Sun. All people are on the surface of the Earth, and the Earth rotates daily around its axis in 24 hours. Let's observe from a great distance (from the north pole of the Earth) a rotating and standing person. A person stands on the equator and rotates with the Earth. In the morning During work, a person stretches his arms towards the Sun, and the charges of his body are concentrated in the meridians of the arms. Therefore, in the morning, the hand meridians absorb the largest number of electrons. At noon The sun is located above the head, and the charges are concentrated in the head and hands. At the same time, a lack of electrons will exist in the foot meridians. In the evening The sun shines on the back and legs, where the greatest concentration of static electrons is concentrated. At night the legs are directed towards the Sun, therefore, electrons will be concentrated in the legs, and the leg meridians will do the most work of absorbing electrons. At the same time, the amount of static electricity in the head and hands will be low. The attraction of the solar electric field causes the daily rotation of static electrons (energy) inside the human body. This is how physics can explain the occurrence of the daily cycle of electrical energy movement.

3. The reason for the movement of energy along the meridians.

Electrons along a conductor, such as the human body, can move from one part of the body (from one meridian) to another, if an excess of electrons is created in one, then in the other there is a lack of them. According to traditional views, Chi energy can move from the lung meridian P to the large intestine meridian GI and further in a circle. Therefore, the lung meridian should have an excess of electrons (electropositive), then the large intestine meridian, to which the currents are directed, should have a deficiency of electrons (electronegative). After some time, energy fills the large intestine meridian. It acquires an excess of electrons, becomes electropositive, and the neighboring meridian (E) turns into electronegative (P– - GI + –– E –). From the large intestine GI meridian, energy is transferred to the stomach meridian E and further in a circle. The daily excess of energy changes the electrical potential of each meridian twice: once making it electropositive, the other time electronegative. If we abstractly imagine the daily cycle of chi energy, then the electrical potential of the meridians will consist of alternating excess and deficiency of electrons (chi energy). So, every 2 hours there is a natural disturbance in the energy balance (equilibrium) in one of the 12 meridians. In one meridian there is an excess of energy, in another, located nearby, there is a deficiency. The remaining meridians in a healthy body at this time have a normal amount of energy, “are electrically neutral.” The rotation of the Earth around its axis causes a daily circulation of energy within the human body.

4. How does modern electrophysiology explain the daily cycle of energy movement?

Unfortunately, modern physics does not find facts confirming the existence of a daily cycle of biocurrents. Electrical appliances do not notice the flow of excess energy into one or another meridian. The devices do not record periodic strengthening or weakening of the activity of acupuncture points of the corresponding meridian at a certain time. For example, according to traditional views, from 7 to 9 o’clock in the morning the stomach meridian E should have an excess of energy and the pericardial meridian MC should have a deficiency. However, the devices do not register these changes. Is the doctrine of meridians and the daily cycle of energy movement along them “dead”, invented by ancient acupuncturists for the convenience of selecting acupuncture points? Maybe modern electrical appliances are not sensitive enough? Maybe measurements should be carried out using subcutaneous electrical contacts, rather than removing the potential from the surface of the skin at the site of the acupuncture channel? Future medicine will provide answers to all these questions. There is no electrical evidence for the existence of internal meridians at all. Modern science can imagine internal meridians only in the form of “trajectories” of movement of ballast biocurrents inside a living organism. Changes in electron flows within the human body and the long-term residence of electrons on the skin are poorly understood. This problem also awaits its researchers.

5. An example of energy movement.

Consider, for example, the sequence of locations of the internal and external meridians of the heart (C) and small intestine (IG). See Figure 25. The spleen-pancreas (RP) meridian ends at RP.21. The internal meridian “Great Yin” begins from it, which penetrates many internal organs and connects the meridians of the spleen RP and heart C. The acupuncture point RP.21 is localized in the sixth intercostal space at the intersection with the middle axillary line. The internal meridian of the spleen begins from this place. According to traditional views, the deep branch of the meridian enters the abdominal cavity in the lower abdomen, approaches the spleen, pancreas and stomach. Then it branches in two directions. The first branch rises along the esophagus to the base of the tongue. The second branch leaves the pancreas, crosses the diaphragm and goes to the heart. This is the “trajectory” of the internal meridian “Great Yin”, which belongs to the RP meridian. The internal branch of the heart meridian C begins from the heart. It is a continuation of the internal channel of the spleen RP. Immediately after leaving the heart, it divides into three branches. One of the branches passes the diaphragm and goes to the small intestine. The other goes along the inner surface of the body to the eyes. The third branch of the meridian from the heart goes to the skin of the armpit, where the first point of the outer meridian of the heart C.1 is located. This is the “trajectory” of the internal meridian “Great Yin”, which belongs to the heart meridian C. Then the biocurrents pass in a thin stream along the points of the heart meridian from C.1 to C.9, that is, they go along the arm from the armpit to the terminal phalanx of the 5th finger brushes On the little finger there is an end-to-end connection between the meridians of the heart and small intestine. The first point of the small intestine meridian IG.1 also begins on the little finger. Then the biocurrents pass in a thin stream through the points of the “hand” meridian of the small intestine from IG.1 to IG.19 (the latter is located near the ear).
According to traditional views, the internal collateral of the small intestine meridian begins from point IG.15, which is located at the inner edge of the scapula. The energy is first directed to the point of the posterior median meridian T.14, from where it penetrates into the chest cavity and divides into two branches. One of them runs along the esophagus to the heart and then through the diaphragm reaches the stomach and small intestine. Another deep branch of the meridian rises along the neck to the ear and further to the inner corner of the eye. This is the “trajectory” of the internal meridian “Great Yang”, which belongs to the small intestine. In the area of the inner corner of the eye (at point V.1), the internal meridians of the small intestine IG and the bladder V connect.

6. Electrical diagram of the movement of energy along the meridians. The described diagram of the daily cycle is presented in a simplified form. Due to the fact that “neighboring” meridians are connected not only according to the “end-beginning” principle, but also through internal meridians, significant complications of the diagram arise. Meridians consist of two parts: internal and external. The part of the meridian that is located on the surface of the body and consists of acupuncture points belongs to the outer part of the channel. Its second part passes through the internal organs of the body and is called internal. Internal channels indicate the approximate directions of movement of ballast biocurrents inside the body. Some meridians originate from internal channels (P, E, C, V, MC, VB), others, on the contrary, end with internal channels (GI, RP, IG, R, TR, F). In relation to the location of the inner part of the meridian course, they can be divided into centrifugal and centripetal. Centrifugal meridians end with internal meridians, centripetal meridians begin with them. Let us draw general conclusions on the movement of energy in the daily cycle.

1. On the limbs (fingers and toes), the meridians are connected end to end. These are connections of meridians such as “arm-arm” and “leg-leg”.
2. The connection of the meridians on the head and body occurs through the internal meridians. This is a “hand-to-foot”, “leg-to-hand” connection.
3. Ancient Chinese doctors gave certain names to all internal meridians: large (or great) yang and yin, small yang and yin, etc. See Figure 25.

7. In acupuncture, the law of daily movement of energy plays a very important role.

All existing laws in Zhen Chiu therapy are derived based on the sequence of meridian connections. These are the laws of “noon-midnight”, “mother-son”, “husband-wife”, etc. Without knowing them, it is impossible to carry out “energy” treatment.
Thanks to the daily cycle of energy movement, acupuncturists determine the time for the most effective treatment of the disease. For example, if some disease arose from excess energy in the stomach meridian E, then treatment is recommended to be carried out between 7 and 9 am. At this time, a “natural” daily excess is added to the “pathological” excess of energy. During this period of the day, all the symptoms of the disease worsen, pain intensifies, gastric bleeding, vasospasm, etc. may occur. Treatment has a greater therapeutic effect if it is carried out taking into account the time of day when a “double” excess (or deficiency) occurs in the body. energy. Another practical application of the circadian cycle is acupuncture diagnostics. If some disease periodically worsens from 7 to 9 am, then we can say with confidence that it arose from an excess of energy in the stomach meridian E and due to a lack of energy in the pericardial meridian MC, etc.
The next conclusion that follows from the law of daily movement of energy is that at the same time, all people living in the same time zone (on the same meridian of the Earth) experience an excess and deficiency of energy in the same acupuncture channel. This energy imbalance is held for 2 hours in each individual meridian.

Annual cyclicity of energy movement along the meridians

In addition to the daily (24-hour) cycle, in the theory of Chinese acupuncture there is an annual cycle of energy movement (12-month cycle).

1. Annual energy circulation.

The movement of CHI energy along 12 meridians throughout the year is reflected in ancient Chinese medicine in the teaching of the Five Elements (the teaching of U-XING). This system arose from the merger of the medical science of the time (2nd century BC) in the form of acupuncture (Zhen Ju therapy) and the philosophy of Confucianism. Ancient philosophers argued that the entire world around us consists of varying concentrations of the five main elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. According to their concept, if you mix these elements in various proportions, you can get the entire material world of the Universe, including living beings. Chinese physicians adapted the theory of the Five Elements to explain the relationships between the “life channels” from acupuncture points (jin lo). In addition, they supplemented the concept of “elements of nature” with medical content. See Figure 26 and Table 3. According to this medical-philosophical theory, chi energy circulates along 12 standard meridians (channels) per year. Since there are 12 months a year and 12 life channels, each month excess energy fills one of the Jin Lo channels.
Energy moves in a circle from one “element” to another, for example, from the element “tree”, which is combined with the concepts: spring, wind, emergence (birth), green color, sour taste, anger. The “wood” element combines two meridians: gallbladder VB and liver F. These two meridians are in a state of energetic antagonism in relation to each other. If an excess of energy occurs in the gallbladder meridian, then a lack of energy immediately appears in the liver meridian and vice versa. Then the energy moves clockwise, i.e. leaves the element “wood” and flows into the element “fire”, which has the following philosophical and abstract definitions: summer, heat, greatest development, red color, bitter taste, joy. In relation to life channels, the element “fire” has one feature. There are five main elements, and for each element there is one pair of life channels. Consequently, the U-SIN system can combine only 10 meridians. But there are 12 meridians. Taking this into account, ancient doctors endowed the element “fire” with two pairs of meridians. The first (main) pair: meridian of the small intestine IG and the heart meridian C. The second (additional) para-meridian of the three heaters (three body cavities) TR and the pericardium MS. In each pair, the meridians are in a state of energetic antagonism to each other. From the element "fire" energy penetrates into the element "earth", which has the following properties: end of summer, humidity, change, yellow color, sweet taste, reflection. The element "earth" does not actually have its own season. The fact is that there are five elements, and four seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn, winter). Therefore, a season is defined for it as “end of summer.” The element “earth” corresponds to a pair of meridians: spleen-pancreas RP and stomach E. These meridians are also in a state of energetic antagonism. From the “earth” element, energy passes into the “metal” element, which has the following philosophical and abstract properties: autumn, dryness, withering, white color, pungent taste, melancholy. It corresponds to a pair of meridians, which consists of the lung meridian P and the large intestine meridian GI. These two meridians are in energetic antagonism.

Figure 26. The annual cycle of energy movement along the 12 meridians.

From the metal element, energy flows into the water element, which has the following properties: winter, cold, disappearance, black color, salty taste, fear. The element corresponds to a pair: the kidney meridian R and the bladder meridian V. They are also energetic antagonists. From the element “water” the energy again passes to the element “wood”, and the cycle repeats. According to traditional views, every year the Chi energy makes one “revolution” through the Five Elements, and therefore through the Six pairs of meridians, that is, through 12 “life” channels. In parallel with how spring turns into summer, summer into autumn, autumn turns into winter, and winter again into spring, excess energy moves from one meridian to another. Over the course of a year, energy passes through 12 meridians in turn, which connect with each other and form a closed curve. How many years a person lives, so many times the excess energy makes circular movements along the 12 meridians of the right and left half of the body.

It should be noted that measurements with sensitive electrophysical devices do not confirm the seasonal movement of “excess CHI energy” (biocurrents). The intensity of electroabsorbing points on the surface of the human body at all meridians does not change either in summer or in winter. The current state of electrophysiology cannot confirm the existence of an annual cycle of excess energy movement. However, it is apparently premature to categorically declare the absence of such, since acupuncturists, based precisely on this teaching, cure many diseases. More research is needed.

2. Laws of connection of meridians within “elements” and between them.

So, the movement of CHI energy from one “element” to another has a logical basis. At the same time, if you trace the sequence of the flow of CHI energy from meridian to meridian, then insoluble contradictions arise in the system, which force a significant part of the structure of the teaching of the Five Elements to change. There are no particular difficulties in explaining the movement of energy between the two meridians that make up the “element”. These meridians connect end to end in the area of the fingers and toes. For example, the meridians of the earth element (stomach E and spleen RP) connect at the toes. The stomach meridian E brings energy to the foot (it is a centrifugal meridian), since the first point E.1 is located on the head, and the last point E.45 is localized on the second toe. The first point of the spleen meridian RP.1 is located on the first toe, and the last RP.21 is on the lateral surface of the chest.
The meridian removes energy from the periphery of the body to the center and is centripetal. The short segment connecting the stomach and spleen meridians is 2 cm long and connects the first and second toes. On the foot, the meridians of the elements “water” (bladder V and kidney R) and “wood” (gallbladder VB and liver F) are similarly connected. On the hand, the meridians of the “metal” elements (lungs P and large intestine GI) and two pairs of meridians of the element “fire” (small intestine IG and heart C, three heaters TR and pericardium MC) similarly merge. The connection of all 6 pairs of meridians, which make up the five elements in the U-SIN system, is subject to four main laws. See Figure 26.
1. Inside the “element”, either two “foot” or two “hand” meridians are connected to each other. The “foot” meridians include those that begin or end on the feet (E-RP, V-R, VB-F). “Hand” include those that begin or end on the hands (P-GI, IG-C, TR-MS). The places where they connect are the hands and feet.
2. Yang and yin meridians are connected inside the “element”. The external (yang meridians) include E, V, VB, GI, IG, TR, and the internal (yin meridians) - RP, R, F, P, C, MS.
3. Inside the “element”, centrifugal meridians are connected to centripetal ones, and not vice versa. Energy comes to the junction along the centrifugal meridians (E, V, VB, P, MC, C), and leaves it along the centripetal ones (GI, IG, TR, RP, R, F).
4. Inside the “element” the meridians are connected on the fingers and toes “end to end”. The distance between the end of one and the beginning of another meridian does not exceed 1 - 20 cm.

Absolutely opposite laws for connecting the meridians of two neighboring “elements”.
1. Between the “elements” the meridians are connected using the “foot” and “hand” meridians. The connection point is the torso or head.
2. Between the “elements” the meridians are connected using yin-yin or yang-yang connections.
3. Between the “elements” the centripetal meridians are connected to the centrifugal ones, and not vice versa. Energy comes to the junction (torso) along the centripetal meridians and leaves it along the centrifugal ones, which are directed to the limbs.
4. Between the “elements” the meridians are connected by two long internal meridians. The length of each internal meridian is approximately 100 cm. The outer part of the centripetal meridian ends at the torso or head. From these areas, the internal paths of centripetal meridians begin, which penetrate many organs, muscles, ligaments, and bones. In some place in the chest or abdominal cavities (near the heart, stomach, etc.), the internal centripetal meridian connects with a similar collateral of the centrifugal meridian, which also has a length of about 1 meter, penetrates many organs and tissues and “surfaces” to the surface of the body in the head or torso area. The outer part of the centrifugal meridian begins from this place, passing through the skin acupuncture points. Consequently, between the “elements” (earth-metal, metal-water, water-wood, etc.) the meridians are connected by internal paths of the centripetal and centrifugal meridians.
Once the laws of connection of meridians within the “elements” and between them have been determined, it is possible to construct a closed curve of the movement of chi energy along all meridians in the annual cycle. According to the traditional concept, in all cases the Chi energy is born and begins its movement from the lung organ along the lung meridian. The internal meridian begins from the lungs, which “surfaces” to the surface of the body in the area of the outer edge of the collarbone. The lung meridian runs along the inside of the arm to the 1st finger. Next, the energy continues to move along the GI meridian of the large intestine, which begins on the 2nd finger of the hand. It carries energy to the head and is connected by the long inner part of its meridian to the bladder meridian. See Figure 26. This meridian carries energy to the foot, where it connects “end to end” with the kidney meridian R. In all the described cases, the connections of the meridians strictly obey the laws.

3. In the U-SIN concept, an absolutely insoluble contradiction in the movement of energy exists between the elements “water” (bladder V and kidney R) and “wood” (gallbladder VB and liver F). The connection of the meridians of the elements “water” (V-R) and “wood” (VB-F) cannot be accomplished without violating the laws of existence of only five elements. There must be six elements. One can, of course, assume that the energy from the kidney meridian R moves further along one of the channels of the “wood” element, i.e. along the liver meridian F or gallbladder VB. However, this cannot happen without a gross violation of the relevant laws. Energy from the kidney meridian R, according to the rule, can never be transferred to the liver meridian F for two reasons:
A) Between the metal-wood elements, the meridians must be connected using the foot and hand channels. The R kidney meridian is a foot meridian and the F liver meridian is also a foot meridian, so they are incompatible for transferring energy between the elements.
b) Between the “elements” the centripetal meridians are connected to the centrifugal ones. However, both meridians (kidney and liver) are centripetal. The kidney meridian transmits energy from the foot to the front of the chest. The liver meridian similarly carries energy from the foot to the front surface of the chest. A connection between the internal meridians of the kidneys and the liver can never be formed in the chest cavity, since the liver meridian will not be able to receive energy from the kidney meridian and continue its movement in a circle, since both meridians “pour” energy into the chest cavity.

Connecting the kidney meridian R with the gallbladder meridian VB is also impossible:
A) Between the “elements” the meridians must be connected using the foot and hand channels, and the meridians of the kidneys and gallbladder belong to the foot channels.
b) Between the “elements” the meridians must be connected using yin-yin or yang-yang connections. The kidney meridian is a yin channel, and the gallbladder meridian is a yang channel. Therefore, their interaction is also against the law.
So, with a detailed study of the movement of energy from meridian to meridian in the annual cycle, one can notice that its transfer from the element “water” to “wood” is impossible. At this section of the chain there is a rupture of “interelementary” energy connections. There is not a single case of violation of the law of energy movement from the gallbladder meridian to the kidneys. But the movement of energy after the kidney meridian was “underdeveloped” by the founders of the Five Elements system.
In addition, another difficulty arises in the system of the Five Elements - one pair of meridians, consisting of the meridian of three heaters TR and the pericardium MC, is excluded from the annual cycle of energy movement. If you strictly follow the U-SIN rule on the movement of energy from one “element” to another, then it is necessary to recognize that there is a break in the energy transmission between the elements “water” and “wood”. With the least damage to the system of the Five Elements, these contradictions can be eliminated if we imagine that the pair of meridians of the three heaters and the pericardium (TR-MC) is located between the elements “water” (V-R, winter) and “wood” (VB-F, spring). See Figure 26. At the same time, all the laws of energy movement along the meridians come into compliance. However, the order of the location of the seasons of the year is violated. The TR and MC meridians in the traditional U-SIN system relate to the element “fire” and the summer season. In the modified system they are located in a season that can be called “end of winter”, and then cease to belong to the element “fire”.
Unfortunately, in the end it is necessary to state the fact of the imperfection of the teaching of the Five Elements. Many acupuncturists have paid attention to the contradictions described above. However, most of them believed that, despite the logical errors, imperfections and contradictions, reasoning in acupuncture should continue to be based on the old traditional U-SIN system. This is the position of dogmatists in acupuncture. The author has a different opinion. He believes that improving any belief system, including the teachings of U-SIN, will only bring benefits.

4. Correction of errors of the old traditional system of Five Elements (U-SIN).

As theoretical studies show, a revision of the sequence of meridians during the annual circulation of energy is required. The ideal annual cycle is shown in the figure. See Figure 26. It shows the circular movement of energy. The annual cycle is shown in expanded form in the figure. If we compare it with a similar “line-by-line” recording of the daily cycle, we can say that only the connections of pairs of meridians in their element remained unchanged (P - GI, E - RP, C - IG, etc.). However, the combination of pairs of meridians in the daily cycle differs from the combination of meridians in the annual cycle. The connections of the internal meridians called Small Yin (R - MC) and Small Yang (TR - VB) remained the same for the two cycles.
The movement of energy throughout the year is carried out along 12 meridians of the right and left half of the body simultaneously. Chi energy is retained in each meridian for one month. See table 2. If we build the annual cycle taking into account the amendments proposed above, then each meridian will correspond to a specific month. According to the table, the two winter months (December, January, February) correspond to three meridians V, R, MC, which in these months alternately have an excess of energy. At the same time, their energy antagonists experience a lack of energy. In the spring months, a natural excess of energy appears alternately in the TR, VB, F meridians. In the summer, a natural excess of energy appears alternately in the C, IG, E meridians. In the autumn months, a natural excess of energy appears alternately in the RP, P, GI meridians.
It must be emphasized that without correction (in the form of transferring the pair of meridians TR - MC into the gap between the elements “water” and “wood”), the correct relationship between the month and its meridian will not work. If we ignore the existence of a break in the energy transmission from the kidney meridian R to the pair of meridians VB - F, then the following contradiction will arise. The summer season will have two pairs of meridians IG - C and TR - MC of the fire element. Then the three summer months will correspond to 4 meridians, and the remaining 8 meridians must be distributed over nine months. You can continue to make compromises for the sake of preserving the ancient Chinese WU-XING system: one of the four meridians “fire” (summer) is transferred to the element “wood” and combined with the spring month (May) or the autumn month (September). In addition, the question arises about the sequence of location of the 4 meridians. They can be arranged in the form TR - MC - IG - C (or MC) - TR - C - IG, which will correspond to the months May-June-July-August. However, they can also be arranged in the form IG - C -TR -MS (or C) - IG - MS - TR and combined with the same months. It is very difficult to prove the true order of arrangement of meridians in the element “fire”. There are other contradictions when reuniting the meridians within the fire element.

In the Five Elements system, connections between elements are carried out according to the “arm-leg” or “leg-arm” type. At the same time, between pairs TR-MS and IG - C, only a “hand-to-hand” connection is possible, since all 4 meridians are manual. Do intermeridional connections in the element “fire” really require exclusion? Since there are 4 options for connecting the four meridians of the element “fire”, the problem arises of connecting them with the meridians of neighboring elements - “tree” (VB-F) and “earth” (E-RP). In this case, the laws should not be violated: you can connect yin-yin or yang-yang meridians, foot and hand meridians, centripetal only with centrifugal ones. Without going into details, we can conclude: some provisions of the U-SIN teaching require theoretical refinement. In order to maintain the condition of the cycle of energy movement in the system of the Five Elements, the sequence of energy movement along the meridians in the annual cycle should have the following form:

→ → (VB → F) → (C → IG) → (E → RP) → (P → GI) → (V → R) → (MC → TR) → →
→ →VB → ……………………………………………………………… → TR → →

5. Five points of wushu.

The teachings of U-SIN are also reflected in the corresponding characteristics of acupuncture points. Each of the 12 meridians has points corresponding to 5 elements (five points of wushu): fire, water, metal, earth and wood. For example, the lung meridian, which itself belongs to the “metal” element, has a “wood” point - P.11, a “fire” point - P.10, a “earth” point - P.9, a “metal” point "-P.8 and point-"water"-P.5. There is a similar system of points in each meridian.
So, over the course of 12 months, excess energy fills one of the 12 meridians every month. According to the author, the zodiac calendar most accurately reflects the annual movement of energy along the meridians. See table 2. The problem of the relationship between the seasons of the meridian leads to the connection of two empirical sciences - acupuncture and astrology. As was said, in acupuncture, psychological problems are reflected in the place where a person’s spiritual state is revealed throughout the year: summer (the element “fire”) corresponds to joy, the end of summer (“earth”) - reflection, autumn (“metal”) - melancholy , winter (“water”) - fear, spring (“tree”) - anger.
These provisions of acupuncture (Zhen Chiu therapy) can be supplemented and developed by combining it with astrology. For example, a person was born between September 23 and October 23, under the constellation Libra. During this month, the entire population of the Earth experienced a natural increase in energy in the P lung meridian and a decrease in energy potential in the GI meridian of the large intestine. According to the U-SIN theory, the pair of meridians P - GI belongs to the element “metal”. Based on acupuncture information, it is possible to predict which diseases a given person may have chronic, which organs are the most vulnerable. For “Libra” these are diseases of the lungs and large intestine. Therefore, it is possible to develop a prevention system that a person should adhere to throughout his life. These measures, in turn, will lead to longevity. Acupuncture is able to predict the “fate of health,” astrology predicts the “fate of the individual.”

6. Destructive connections in the Five Elements system (U-SIN), “husband-wife” rules.

Now let's look at the problem of destructive connections that govern the elements: fire, earth, metal, water and wood. Primary sources about destructive connections say the following: the kidneys suppress the heart, the heart suppresses the lungs, the lungs suppress the liver, the liver suppresses the spleen, the spleen suppresses the kidneys. See Figure 26. This is the interaction of destructive connections among the inmeridians. Yang meridians suppress each other in the following order: the bladder suppresses the small intestine, the small intestine suppresses the large intestine, the large intestine suppresses the gallbladder, the gallbladder suppresses the stomach, the stomach suppresses the bladder. The TR and MS meridians are also involved in destructive connections, since they are included, respectively, in place of the IG and C meridians.

Meridians can suppress (or tone) each other due to the movement of biocurrents from one to another. To oppress means to take away energy, to excite means to saturate with energy. Therefore, the mechanism of destructive connections in the yin meridians can be represented as follows: the kidneys R take energy from the heart C, the heart from the lungs P, the lungs from the liver F, the liver from the spleen RP, the spleen from the kidney R. In the yang meridians, the meridian bladder V takes away part of the biocurrents from the small intestine meridian IG, the small intestine - from the large intestine GI, the large intestine - from the gallbladder VB, the gallbladder - from the stomach E, the stomach - from the bladder V. We obtain the following sequence of inhibitory effects:
Yin - meridians: R ← C (or MC) ← P ← F ← RP ← R;
Yang - meridians: V ← IG (or TR) ← GI ← VB ← E ← V.

How can one meridian take away and another transfer to it part of the electrical potential?

1. The transfer of electricity is possible when one meridian brings energy from the limbs to the torso, and the other carries this energy from the same area to the limb. In other words, one meridian is centripetal, the other is centrifugal.
2. The transfer of electricity between elements is possible only through the long internal parts of the meridians, which are located inside the head or torso. If the meridian is directed from the head (or torso) to the fingers of the limb (centrifugal), then the transfer of its energy can only be to the meridian paired with it. The lung meridian P in the hand area merges only with the large intestine meridian GI, the pericardial meridian (MC) only with the meridian of the three heaters TR, the heart meridian (C) with the small intestine meridian IG. According to traditional views, no other connections between meridians are possible on the foot other than the connection of the stomach meridian E with the spleen RP, the gallbladder VB with the liver F, and the bladder V with kidney R.
So, meridians do not have the opportunity to influence each other if they are both centrifugal or centripetal, or if they both carry energy to the hand or foot, and are not in the traditional yin-yang pair. Taking these laws into account, most yin and yang meridians cannot “oppress” or take away energy from each other.
For example, a destructive connection cannot take place and the kidney meridian R does not have the ability to take away energy from the heart meridian (C) for the reason that the heart meridian begins in the armpit (C.1) and ends on the 5th finger of the hand (C.9 ). From there, according to the rule of destructive connections, this energy should move to the foot, where the first point of the kidney meridian R.1 begins. The R meridian runs along the inner surface of the leg to the chest, where it ends at point R.27. The probability of an exact transfer of energy from the hand (C.9) to the foot (R.1) is zero. Therefore, if we accept the position that the destructive connection is carried out by taking away energy (electric potential) from the meridian that is suppressed, then the relationship between the meridians of the kidneys R and the heart C should not exist, either theoretically or practically.
The liver F and pancreas-spleen RP meridians begin on the foot and carry energy along the inner surface of the leg to the chest. Traditional acupuncture states that “the liver depresses the spleen,” that is, the liver meridian takes energy away from the spleen meridian. How can energy from one meridian penetrate into another if both are centripetal? After all, then the energy will have to go the following way: along the spleen meridian RP it must pass from the foot to the chest, then return to the first toe, where the liver meridian F begins, and again rise to the chest. Such a movement of biocurrents is hardly feasible.
Analyzing the remaining destructive connections, we can conclude that the direct impact of some meridians on others cannot occur. If destructive connections exist, then they can manifest themselves through a complex (and still unknown) indirect mechanism, which includes several internal and external meridians in the “work”. Therefore, it can be assumed that the effectiveness of these connections is very low.

7. The annual cycle of energy movement is widely used in acupuncture. See table 3.
1. Calculation of the energy impact on meridians in the treatment of chronic diseases is carried out according to the annual cycle. If the disease is acute and lasts less than 10 days, then the calculation is carried out according to the daily cycle.
2. Based on the annual cycle, the time of the most effective treatment is calculated. For example, if a patient has chronic pneumonia, then the effectiveness of treatment will be higher in October, when the lung meridian is in abundance.
3. The annual cycle is used for acupuncture diagnostics. For example, if a patient’s stomach ulcer worsens every year in August, then it can be argued that the disease occurs with excess energy in the stomach meridian E.
4. Knowing that some meridians have a natural imbalance of energy at a certain time, it is possible to predict the onset of exacerbation of certain chronic diseases and carry out preventive treatment. For example, in a patient with skin eczema (the disease occurs with a lack of energy in the lung meridian), one can predict the onset of an exacerbation of the disease in November.
5. It can be stated that there are two natural energy imbalances: daily and annual. With a daily cycle, excess energy passes through all 12 channels in one day, and with an annual cycle, excess energy passes through the same channels in 12 months. Two natural energy imbalances can be joined by an imbalance caused by illness. If an acute illness occurs, the imbalance of energy in several meridians persists for 3 to 10 days. If a chronic disease occurs, then the imbalance in certain meridians persists for many years (until the symptoms of the chronic disease appear). The point of acupuncture treatment is to eliminate the pathogenic energy imbalance, but at the same time the circulation of the natural energy imbalance must be maintained.

Energy circulation

Eastern medicine believes that the most important thing for health is the harmonious circulation and conduction of vital energies throughout the body. When the life force is blocked or stagnated somewhere, disease occurs. The natural flow of energy rejuvenates, renews the body and mind. We all experience energy loss in our daily lives. We know that when we feel full of energy, we can do anything. Indeed, maintaining vital energy determines whether we are young or old. This energy must be carried through the body so that no part of the body is deprived of vitality. A simple method of doing this is to move rhythmically, visualizing the energy circulating and nourishing the body. The secret is to keep the body moving constantly and harmoniously, as if dancing. The movement can be very subtle and involves conscious visualization of the energy flow. The Chinese movement system known as Tai Chi is particularly suited to fully circulating the natural flow of energy in the body.

First, a person should pay attention to the navel center, visualizing how the vital forces move and curl within it, producing balance and equilibrium, like a gyroscope, being thrown outward into the areas of the limbs and genitals. Inhale rhythmically and deeply, focusing on holding the breath, while noticing the subtle nerve pathways from the navel to all the limbs and up and down the torso. Whatever part of the body your consciousness is directed to, it will still receive energy from the navel center. Yoga tests have shown that it is possible to control blood circulation, and the biofeedback system uses these psychological techniques in practice. Western medicine has only recently begun to successfully use imaging techniques to treat cancer, as well as psychological disorders such as major depression.

Lovers can conduct energy for each other. Stretch out on the floor or bed. While breathing from your belly, try to visualize the flow of energy, paying attention to any areas of tension that may be blocking its flow. It's amazing how easily the mind can feel the energy flow if you allow your intuition to come into contact with your partner's body. The partner in the active position should stand up, sit next to or straddle the other’s body, moving through the energy channels with sweeping movements with outstretched fingers. This is similar to the mystical passes used by mesmerists, hypnotists and healers. They are very effective in channeling energy if you have a positive mental attitude and do not allow doubts to enter your mind. You'll be surprised how quickly you can recharge your partner. Sometimes it is useful to verbalize the process by saying out loud: “I conduct vital energy to all tired parts of the body and mind, relax, renew organs and tissues, tuning the glands, harmonizing the senses and bringing peace of mind.”

The perceiver (recipient) must be completely relaxed and normal dialogue is kept to a minimum. Let the subtle movements of your partner come into contact with your Subtle Body. You both visualize the flow of energy between and through you. At the same time, focus on your breathing. For example, the mantra “Om-Bhur-Bhuva-Sva” - invoking the three kingdoms (our world and the future, eternity) - can be used to prevent the mind from wandering.

Making love is an ideal time to consciously conduct energy. You can channel each other's energy at the same time, or one of the partners can take on an active role. Energy is automatically transferred and circulated during lovemaking. However, very often, due to lack of awareness, energy is lost. The important thing is to become more familiar with the feeling of free energy flow so that you can recognize it.

Breathing deeply and holding it will help you experience the energy flow. You will find that some parts of your body feel awake, while others feel sleepy or lazy. If you transfer your consciousness to these parts, energy will flow there. Breath control and visualization effectively direct the flow of vital energy.

Imagine in your mind the powerful inner fire of Kundalini, the power of the serpent, which awakens in the sexual chakra. Visualize the energy rising up through the spleen chakra to the navel chakra. There the energy flares up like the inner sun, which casts or sheds purifying light on the parts of the body. Imagine the subtle channels and visualize them as thin, glowing tubes through which radiant energy flows freely. Let your vitality rise up, watch it with your inner eye. Now it has risen to the level of the heart and throat. Awaken your heart chakra and imagine how the inner lotus turns upward and begins to glow, radiating love, the purified energy of feelings. Awaken the throat chakra with the power of the heart and imagine the psychophysical system being cleansed and energized. Raise the energy up to the head chakra and watch it open into an everlasting experience of ecstasy. Imagine that the top of the head is a lunar sphere, cooling and purifying the passionate soul. Then focus on how the Drops of Wisdom descend and enrich her.

“The essence of life flows through the invisible channels of the body in invisible streams in zigzags and whirlpools. They are like sound waves. When they move upward, they are like a flame, and when they move downward, they resemble rivulets and trickles of water.”

"Sushruta Samhita"

Follow the flow of energy up your back, as well as through your arms and legs, barely touching them with your fingers. Imagine rays of vital energy emanating from your fingers. This causes the fingers to tremble slightly in order to maintain energy vibrations. Merge with your partner's body in a love dance, open to the circulation of energy and be receptive to the benefits it brings. Subtle vital energy is concentrated in the navel and heart, head and genital area, flows from one area to another, so stimulate them when you pump energy into your partner's body. This practice is especially suitable as a complement to the art of massage and helps to harmonize the mood, which is an essential component of erotic foreplay.

“This hand contains all healing balms, and it fills the whole body with the power of conscious touch. With ten fingers of both hands, these healers throw away all diseases with their soft caress.”

All Chinese medicine is based on the teaching of meridians. It is this knowledge that helps Eastern doctors successfully diagnose and treat various diseases. Qi energy circulates through the meridians - vital energy, if depleted, a person faces various ailments. Find out in the article through which channels qi energy flows and how it accumulates.

From generation to generation, Chinese doctors observed healthy and sick people and carefully studied various manifestations of the body. As a result, they were able to develop a concept about the channels through which energy passes.

What are energy channels or meridians?

Energy channels permeate the entire body, then go out and go back into the tissues. Some of the channels connect human organs with the environment. The channel system is quite complex. Thus, in the case of illness, it is by the state of the energy channels that it is possible to determine the person’s condition.

The teaching about energy channels or meridians is called Jing-Lo. According to him, the 12 main organs of the human body are supplied by 12 pairs of meridians. Energy channels and organs are divided into Yin and Yang, but all meridians, without exception, are united and represent an integral system.

In addition to the main 12 paired meridians, there are also 2 unpaired meridians, 15 secondary meridians and 8 wonderful meridians. Acupuncture uses biological active points that are located on the meridians. The purpose of the points is to dose the movement of Qi energy.

In total, there are 365 main points on the human body, and in total there are about 6000. The state of the meridians is an indicator of the progression of the disease.

How does life energy move through the human body?

A person receives Qi energy during breathing and eating. In addition, vital energy reserves can also be replenished through meditation or good thoughts.

Most of the Qi energy enters the lungs, so this organ is more responsible than others for distributing energy throughout the body.

Qi energy passes through the meridians per day:

01:00 - the beginning of the movement of Qi energy

03:00 - 05:00 - highest energy activity in the lung meridian

05:00 - 07:00 - energy passes from the lung meridian to the large intestine meridian

07:00 - 09:00 - Qi energy is in the stomach meridian

09:00 - 11:00 - energy resides in the meridian of the spleen and pancreas

11:00 - 13:00 - Qi energy is concentrated in the heart meridian

13:00 - 15:00 - vital energy is in the meridian of the small intestine

15:00 - 17:00 - energy is located in the bladder meridian

17:00 - 19:00 - Qi energy resides in the kidney meridian

19:00 - 21:00 - the pericardial meridian is full of energy

21:00 - 23:00 - energy distributed over three parts of the body

23:00 - 01:00 - Qi energy is in the gallbladder

01:00 - 03:00 - energy circulation occurs in the liver channel

03:00 - Qi energy returns to the lung meridian.

How does insufficiency or excess of Qi energy manifest itself?

Redundancy is manifested by increased function of an organ or system. It could be:

  • Contraction of vascular smooth muscles in hypertension, bronchospasm in bronchial asthma, spasmodic contraction of the muscles of the small and large intestine in spastic constipation.

Characteristic signs of excess Qi energy:

  • muscle pain;
  • headache;
  • pain in the joints and spine;
  • runny nose, cough, fever;
  • emotional overexcitation, insomnia.

Insufficiency of Qi energy manifests itself in weakening of the function of an organ or system:

  • Reduced blood pressure, relaxation of intestinal smooth muscles, motor and sensory disorders with neuritis.

Characteristic signs of a lack of Qi energy:

  • diarrhea;
  • aversion to food;
  • arrhythmia;
  • shortness of breath when walking and at rest;
  • fast fatiguability;
  • depression.

To achieve energy balance in the body, special practices are used - acupressure, exercise, meditation, and an appropriate diet is also selected. You can find out more about how to replenish Qi energy in this

The human body is penetrated by a network of meridians - channels through which nutrients move, life-giving energy circulates and everything that is necessary for life, there is a complete exchange of information between all internal organs.

Meridians perform such important functions as:

  • control of blood flow and vital energy,
  • harmonization of yin and yang,
  • revitalization of muscles and bones,
  • relief of joints.

According to ancient Eastern medicine, knowing the structural features of the meridian system, one can trace the paths of disease penetration into the body, its movement and the factors that cause the development of this disease. Along the meridian paths, diseases can be removed from the body, which is what Eastern medicine doctors have done since ancient times.

European medicine did not recognize the presence of meridians in humans for a long time. In 1986, at the Necker Institute in France, when technetium was introduced into biologically active points, trajectories were established on the human body, which completely coincided with the meridians described in ancient Chinese tracts (“Huangdi Neiqing” in the 5th-3rd centuries BC). This is how the existence of meridians (energy channels) was experimentally proven.

In ancient Eastern medicine, all internal organs are combined into organ systems; The meridians are also united into the meridian system, thanks to which our body works as a single whole.

There are a huge variety of meridians, Ancient Eastern medicine identifies 12 main ones:

  • Yin meridians correspond to organs that fill, store and process substances and energies in the body.
  • Yang - meridians correspond to hollow organs that perform the functions of excretion (removal) and metabolism.

Yin Yang:

  1. Lung meridian.
  2. Large intestine meridian.
  3. Meridian of the spleen and pancreas.
  4. Stomach meridian.
  5. Meridian of the heart.
  6. Meridian of the small intestine.
  7. Kidney meridian.
  8. Bladder meridian.
  9. Pericardial meridian.
  10. Meridian of three heaters.
  11. Gall Bladder Meridian.
  12. Liver meridian.

Meridians communicate with each other in a complex pattern, transferring energy from one to another. As a result of the coordinated work of the meridians, the required level of energy is maintained in a healthy body.

When we are sick, our illness is expressed either by an excess or lack of energy in one or several organs at once. If there is an excess of energy in an organ, then it is in the Yang state, and if there is a deficiency, then it is in the Yin state.

There is a large circle of energy circulation, along which the meridians, following each other in a certain order, form a closed system, which, by alternately stimulating each organ, ensures an even distribution of energy throughout the body.

If, for example, a channel is blocked in the area of the limbs, then the movement of energy is hampered throughout the entire channel (remember from physics: when the current strength drops, the voltage in the network decreases...), and this leads to the fact that the organs do not receive enough energy. As a result, they do not work normally and do not perform their functions.

So, energy meridians of the human body play the most important role in the process of maintaining the health of the body. Unlike their Western colleagues, representatives of the East consider the processes occurring in the human body to be inextricably linked with the events that occur in the energy shell of the Universe. All pathological processes begin on the surface and eventually penetrate deeper. Therefore, if external influences are corrected in time, the very cause of the disease can be eliminated. What are energy meridians according to modern scientists?

The doctrine of biologically active points (BAP)

There are many theories that explain the processes occurring in the human body. One of the works on this topic belongs to V.D. Molostov, he explained the nature of BAPs and their connection with the meridians of the body. Scientists have long proven that all processes of information transmission in the body are electrical impulses that are generated and transmitted by nerve cells. In order to ensure the speed of conduction and minimize the impact of energy loss during the transmission process, the transmission force must be considerable. Partially, the excess remaining energy is absorbed by internal organs and tissues, but the remaining energy needs to be utilized.

It is for the release of excess energy that there are biologically active points - small areas on the body about 2 mm in size. It has been proven that the temperature in these areas of the body is slightly higher than that of the surrounding tissues. According to experts, this is due to the ability of these areas to transform excess energy into heat and, radiating it into the external environment, rid the body of excess energy. Eastern healers, not having modern capabilities, experimentally identified chains of such places on the human body and gave them the name - meridians.

Paired meridians

There are 12 main pairs, each of which has hours of greatest and least activity and is responsible for certain organ systems.

  • Lung meridian responsible for metabolism and respiration. Exercises control over the respiratory organs, such as the larynx, pharyngeal ring, and the trachea-bronchi system. Applying pressure to its points reduces breathing problems, lowers temperature, and helps with delayed or sharply decreased urination.
  • Large Intestine Meridian. Very closely related to the previous one, it is responsible for the function of excreting processed food from the human body. It is exposed to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, skin diseases, and disorders of the mucous membranes.
  • Stomach meridian is responsible for the most important energy organ of a person - the stomach. It is here that the main source of human energy, food, is received and processed. Disruption of this organ reduces the overall protective properties.
  • Spleen and pancreas meridian. These organs are responsible for moving food from the stomach and obtaining the maximum amount of substances beneficial to the body from the food bolus.
  • Heart meridian responsible for the functioning of the heart and the condition of the vascular system. He is in charge of such manifestations as thinking, emotions, and sensations. Disruption of its functioning leads to stress, which, in turn, entails cardiovascular problems.
  • Small Intestine Meridian. This organ is involved in the further process of digesting food; its cells absorb water from it. It forms a Yin-Yang pair to the heart meridian. Exposure to it has a positive effect on pain in the upper body: head, back of the neck, shoulder blades.
  • Bladder meridian. Responsible for the process of removing fluid from the body. Exposure to it is effective for spastic pain in the body. It is also indicated for skin diseases, disorders of various etiologies of the central nervous system, and headaches.
  • Kidney meridian. Its state determines the energy state of the entire organism. Supports the activity of tissues and organs in the human body that are responsible for growth, development and reproduction. Disruption of the flow of energy in this meridian leads to a state of increased nervousness, irritability, and sleep disturbances.
  • Pericardial meridian affects the cardiovascular system more broadly; in addition, the sexual nature of a person also falls within its sphere of influence. Supports the functioning of the heart meridian points and affects the nervous system of the body. By influencing its points you can improve the general condition of the nervous system.
  • Gall Bladder Meridian closely related to the liver meridian. Exposure to it helps with pain conditions such as pain in the forehead and temples, migraines, arthritis, lumbago, neuralgia, etc.
  • Liver Meridian. The liver is the "chemical laboratory" of the body. This is where the body's most important biochemical processes take place. The correct flow of energy in it contributes to the processes of preservation and self-renewal of the body. Improves the condition and quality of blood, the production of biologically active substances.

“Three heaters” is a meridian that does not relate to a specific system of organs and tissues of the body:

The latter is divided into three sections:

  • upper - includes organs located in the chest above the diaphragm;
  • middle - body organs located above the navel (stomach, spleen);
  • lower - kidneys, urinary organs, genitals.

The activity of its points affects the excitability of the central nervous system. It is used in cases of spastic and painful conditions.

In addition to the 12 main paired ones, some eastern systems distinguish two more unpaired meridians - anterior and posterior - and eight “wonderful ones”. But this is not the final idea of the energy structure of the body. Some teachings name a much larger number, e.g. Yoga teachings have about 70,000 human meridians.
