Happy child 03.01.2018

Dear readers, we celebrated the New Year, congratulated our family and friends, and made our deepest wish. But the fairy tale does not end there - Christmas is ahead. And, of course, when we prepare for this holiday, we will also make Christmas crafts with the children.

Anna Pavlovskikh will share with us ideas for DIY Christmas crafts. These include a beautiful postcard, window decorations, magical angels made of paper, fabric and other materials. These crafts are suitable for decorating your home, for participating in a competition or exhibition at school or kindergarten, or as a gift to your loved ones. A master class with photos will make this process easy and understandable. I give the floor to Anya.

Hello, dear readers, I am glad to meet you again. Let's spend the holiday weekend doing interesting activities that will not only entertain us, but also fill us with warmth and light. After all, Christmas-themed crafts are always the creation of a fairy tale, and I am sure it will bring great joy to both you and your children. While this requires minimal materials, almost all of them can be found at home or replaced with some others.

Window decoration for Christmas

Windows decorated with Christmas pictures cut out of paper using templates look very beautiful and fabulous. How to decorate windows for Christmas? I suggest you print the templates on a printer or redraw them on paper with a simple pencil. Carefully cut out the design along the contours with scissors or a cutter. Let the children stick the finished pictures to the window using thin transparent tape.

As you work, you can tell a story about a good angel who looks into the windows of houses on Christmas Eve. This angel puts gifts under the tree for those children who are waiting for Christmas and preparing for it. And, of course, in this case you also need to hang Christmas decorations on the tree. The best option for this would be angels made with your own hands from various materials.

Craft “Angel of Christmas” from paper and napkins

Materials that we will need for the Christmas Angel craft:

  • two sheets of colored paper 10 by 15 cm, you can use decorative or metallized;
  • white plain napkins;
  • openwork paper napkins – 3 pcs.;
  • colored paper;
  • a piece of padding polyester;
  • glue stick;
  • scissors;
  • stapler

Cut one openwork napkin in half, and the second into four equal parts and glue it onto colored paper, as in the photo.

Cut along the outline again, now along with colored paper. Roll large cones out of semicircles, and small ones out of quarters, fasten them with a stapler.

Cut off the tops of large cones. Large cones will be the angel's dress, and small cones will be the sleeves. Fasten the sleeves together. Cut the third napkin into 4 parts - these will be the wings of angels.

At the back of the large cone, first attach the sleeves and then the wings.

You need to make a head from a simple napkin. To do this, separate a single napkin, cut out a square, place the crumpled remaining napkin in the middle of the square, fold it and rewind it with thread.

Insert the resulting head into the hole of the large cone. Glue the end of the napkin inside the cone.

Glue a hairstyle made of padding polyester, eyes and a mouth made of colored paper onto the head.

...There are festive speeches everywhere,
Happiness awaits children everywhere...
Throwing the Christmas tree over your shoulders,
The angel goes with joy...
Look through the windows yourself -
There's a big celebration there!
The Christmas trees glow with lights,
As it happens at Christmas...
F. M. Dostoevsky

Christmas angel made of fabric

To make this craft for Christmas in the form of an angel, you need to take a mesh from flower bouquets, as it holds its shape very well. You can also use thick fabric or burlap.

For the body, take a rectangular piece of fabric 11 by 15 cm. Roll it lengthwise into a thin tube. Bend the tube in half and tie the head with thread.

Roll a piece of fabric 11 by 6 cm into a tube along its length and tie it at the edges with thread, insert this tube between two parts of the body and tie it crosswise on the chest with thread.

To make wings, fold an 11 by 11 cm square in half diagonally and secure it in half with thread and tie it to the angel’s back.

Wrap another rectangular piece of fabric around the angel - this will be a skirt.

An angel flew across the midnight sky,
And he sang a quiet song,
And the month, and the stars, and the clouds in a crowd
Listen to that holy song.
He sang about the bliss of sinless spirits
Under the bushes of the Gardens of Eden,
He sang about the great God, and praise
His was unfeigned.
He carried the young soul in his arms
For a world of sadness and tears;
And the sound of his song in the soul is young
He remained - without words, but alive.
And for a long time she languished in the world,
Full of wonderful desires,
And the sounds of heaven could not be replaced
She finds the songs of the earth boring.

Christmas angels made from cotton pads

Christmas angels can be made from a variety of materials, and one of them is simple cotton pads. Ideas for such DIY Christmas crafts are also simple and easy to implement.

Option 1

For such an angel you will need 3 cotton pads, eyes, thread for hanging, felt-tip pens.

Bend the first cotton pad and glue it together, as in the photo. This will be the body of an angel. Glue a loop of thread to it.

Cut the second disk in half - these will be two wings, cut a circle for the head from the third disk. Carefully glue all the parts together, attach the eyes, and the child can paint and decorate it at his own discretion.

Option 2

Materials for making an angel:

  • 5 cotton pads;
  • PVA glue;
  • pen;
  • scissors;
  • beads, beads for decoration;
  • threads with a needle;
  • “grass” threads;
  • padding polyester or decorative cotton wool.

Draw a wing template for the angel on paper. Cut out two wings from cotton pads according to the template.

Divide the next cotton pad into two layers, roll one layer into a ball and wrap it in another layer, wrapping it with thread. You will get a dense ball-head.

Cut out a small sector from another cotton pad.

Make a cone out of this cotton pad by wrapping the head in it. Glue everything well with glue. Cut a quarter out of the disk and divide into 2 layers. Wrap each layer with a cone at the end of the handle and glue it. These will be the hands of an angel.

Collect and glue all the parts of the angel. Style the angel's hair, decorate the dress, and attach a loop for hanging.

Craft on the theme of Christmas “Fan Angel”

I really like the option of making an angel from a paper accordion. This option is very simple, but it makes a very original Christmas gift or a beautiful decoration for the Christmas tree. I suggest you watch the video and try to make such a Christmas-themed craft with your children with your own hands. I think you will appreciate such a simple but effective idea.

Christmas card "Candle"

And now I propose to make a Christmas card with your own hands.

Necessary materials:

  • metallized cardboard A4 format;
  • foil;
  • openwork napkin;
  • yellow paper 6 by 11 cm;
  • green paper;
  • sequins, beads for decoration;
  • glue stick;
  • scissors.

Fold the cardboard in half to form the base of the card.

Glue an openwork napkin to the top part, and glue a cut-out candle flame from foil on top. Fold the yellow paper into an accordion lengthwise and glue it just below the flame.

Cut strips of different lengths and widths from green paper and twist into spirals with scissors.

Beautifully straighten the spirals and glue the candles at the base, decorate the card with sequins and beads.

Craft for the Nativity “Nativity scene”

Making a Christmas nativity scene can also be a very interesting activity with children during the holidays. This is a wonderful old tradition. Try making figurines of the baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the Magi, and several animals. Be sure to make a bright star. You can put on a real performance on the table. Tell your child a Christmas story and let him choose the appropriate role for himself.

The fabulous snowy season encourages us to get creative and we want to make crafts for the Nativity with our own hands, so that the world around us becomes a little kinder, more comfortable and more beautiful. If you have children and you plan to do needlework with them, it will be doubly interesting.

First of all, everyone is interested in how to make a nativity scene, an angel figurine, a wreath. It is these crafts that we will try to make for the holiday.

It is assumed that your nativity scene will serve as a decoration for the holiday, and then be neatly put away on a shelf, so organize a suitable place for placing the craft and think about the background. For convenience, you can make a small sketch, which you can use as a reference in your work.

A simple plywood board can serve as a background. You need to make something like a scene, for which a large box will do.

According to biblical stories, Christ was born in a cattle pen. Make the floor a brown or gray drapery and the backdrop a red one.

In the center of the composition you need to place a manger with a baby, on the right - a figurine of Mary (blue and red colors), on the left - Joseph (brown outfit). Around you will need figures of animals such as sheep, donkeys and bulls. The star of the Magi must be present in the scene.

What materials to make it from?

As you can see, the composition should turn out beautiful in the end. But exactly how to do it depends only on you. There are a lot of materials for creativity, from drawings to ready-made figures. What materials can you use in your work?

To make it beautiful and Christmassy, use natural materials and what you have on hand. For the scene - fabric, textured draperies, braid, yarn. You can sew, knit, sculpt figures from dough or plasticine. Additional details, such as a star, can be made from foil. Everything is standard as tools - glue, scissors, glue gun, varnish.

You can get by with cardboard figures, but in this case you must show all your talent in drawing. However, you can get templates on the Internet; all you have to do is carefully cut out and arrange the figures.

Figures tied with yarn or sculpted from polymer clay look beautiful. The flight of your imagination will not be limited by anything.

Angels for the Christmas tree

From felt or cotton pads

What's Christmas without angels? To make small angel figurines that can be hung on the Christmas tree (), use white felt. The scheme is quite simple and is performed in 4 steps:

  1. Cover a small bead with a piece of round felt and tie the bead with a thin thread of the same color.
  2. Carefully cut out the edges; they will serve as wings.
  3. Fold the second round piece of material in half and form a triangular “body” of an angel.
  4. All that remains is to sew two parts and hang them on the tree.

By the way, if you don’t have felt, you can use simple cotton pads, but in this case, it’s better not to sew the parts together, but to glue them together.

From coffee filters or papyrus paper

Use white paper, preferably thin and fragile.

  1. Prepare 3 circles cut out of paper, one of them should be slightly larger in diameter than the others.
  2. Roll a ball out of plasticine to serve as the head.
  3. Place a ball in the center of the largest round piece and tie it to form a figurine.
  4. Cover the ball with another layer of paper on top, it will be smaller, so we will get something like frills.
  5. Make wings from the remaining paper blank and glue them to the back of the base.
  6. Tie the “neck” with a golden ribbon.

This figurine can be planted directly on the Christmas tree, but it will look nice if you hang it.

Christmas wreath

Making a wreath with your own hands is the most interesting thing. The craft itself is very simple, there is an unlimited amount of materials, and it turns out so beautiful that you can organize an exhibition.

We will not describe the process of creating a wreath step by step. Look at the examples and make something similar. Let’s just share the variety of possible materials:

As a wreath base:

  • vine;
  • wire;
  • twigs;
  • spruce branches;
  • wooden base.

For decoration:

  • cones;
  • Christmas decorations;
  • candles;
  • beads;
  • bows;
  • figures made of dough or plasticine.

Christmas tree made from pine cones

To make such a mini-Christmas tree, you will need a blossoming cone.

  1. Place the pine cone on a solid base; it can be made from plasticine or a wooden block. In the latter case, the base needs to be glued.
  2. Paint the pine cone green and let it dry.
  3. Wrap the Christmas tree with thread, which will serve as a garland.
  4. Glue small beads and bows. They should be proportional to the cone and look like Christmas tree decorations.

We hope you will try to make crafts for the Nativity with your own hands and you will get your own beautiful masterpieces.

If you want to decorate your home and create a Christmas environment, make Christmas themed crafts. It's not difficult at all, our master class will help you. Create and enjoy the magical holiday of Christmas.

Angel pendant

If you have a desire and some free time, make an original “New Year’s Angel” pendant with your own hands, which will perfectly complement the composition of New Year’s decorations.

To work you will need:

  1. Felt in white, red and cherry colors
  2. Red thick threads
  3. Needle with big eye

Stages of work:

On paper, draw a pattern of the body and wings of an Angel, as shown in the photo, then cut out blanks from felt using these patterns. Cut the body white, and the wings cherry. From red felt, cut out a heart and a strip 1 cm wide and about 15 cm long.

Attach the heart to the bottom of the front side of the body and sew it with red thread.

Use a pen to draw some eyes for the Angel. Then fold the front and back parts of the body together and sew them along the outline with red thread.

Tie a red strip of felt around his neck like a scarf, and secure the knot with thread so that it does not come undone.

Now all that remains is to sew the wings to the back.

This is such an interesting New Year's craft we made.

The whole family will love this voluminous craft for Christmas. This wreath is very popular now; it is customary to hang it on the door or decorate a wall or window in the house. It is usually made in golden-red or green tones. It's not difficult to make. Now there is a lot of New Year's tinsel in stores, or maybe you have some left over from last year.

To work you will need:

  1. Green Christmas garland - 1.5 meters
  2. Several artificial spruce branches
  3. Cones
  4. Acrylic gold paint
  5. Any decorative ribbons
  6. Tinsel
  7. Christmas balls
  8. Wire
  9. Hot-melt gun or glue

We bend the wire so that we get a circle with a diameter of 20-25 cm. We cut out a wider circle from cardboard. If you have trouble finding wire, just a cardboard circle will suffice. We wrap both circles with a bandage or any fabric. We wrap it evenly and tightly so that there is no empty space. It is best to glue parts together with a hot-melt gun, but if you don’t have one, then any glue, for example Moment, will do. It turns out to be a circle - it will be the basis for a Christmas wreath.

We wrap the resulting circle with a green Christmas tree garland.

This is the green wreath we got.

We glue the pieces of the artificial Christmas tree at the same distance from each other.

Preparing the cones for the wreath: paint them with gold paint. We are waiting for them to dry. We paint tinsel.

Then we glue scraps of painted tinsel into the middle of the branches of the artificial Christmas tree. Next we glue the bump.

Our wreath comes to life, like in a fairy tale. It turns out that it’s easy to make a fairy tale with your own hands. Glue Christmas balls onto the circle at equal distances.

We make bows from a thin ribbon (for wrapping flowers) and glue it between the balls.

So our Christmas craft is ready.

Attach a thin thread and hang it on the door or wall.

If you want to create a Christmas atmosphere at home, decorate your window with paper stencils of Angels. Some stencils can be used as a garland. To decorate the window we will need white paper, a photocopier (if you don’t have one, draw by hand), scissors and transparent tape.

We copy and cut out the Angels from paper. We attach it to the window with tape, this is what should happen:

Stencils can be enlarged:

Angels made of different materials

You can make these interesting Angels with your own hands for Christmas without much effort.

The body is made of cloth or felt (or white cardboard). We make a white felt hat for the head.

Cardboard angel

Golden angel with openwork wings. We glue the cone of the body from thick white cardboard, fix the head with a halo on the body. Then we cover everything with gold paint. We make lace, tulle, and openwork wings. Starch or glue with simple glue to keep their shape.

The new year has come! I would like to once again congratulate everyone and wish you happiness, good luck and fulfillment of desires! And Christmas is ahead of us - a bright and kind holiday. We will gather again at the festive table in a cozy company, which means we have another great reason to please our family and friends with gifts! Be original - make your own Christmas gifts!!!

Yes, there is not enough time left, but we will come up with something) What is customary to give for Christmas? As a rule, these are Christmas cards, decorative candles, candlesticks, angels or some other cute souvenirs. You know your family well enough, so making a choice will not be difficult.

Handmade Christmas gifts retain a piece of your warmth, so they will be received with gratitude!

Christmas cards

Traditional colors are red, blue, gold and white.

The blank for such a postcard can be cut out of white cardboard, and the image of an angel can be cut out from a magazine or an old postcard. You can find a beautiful picture on the Internet, print it and use it for a postcard.
If the background paper is white, tint it with watercolors using a sponge (for example, for washing dishes). To sew a sewing line along the edge, first make holes (use a thimble!), and then sew. As you can see, here the line goes only in places and this gives the card lightness and romance)

Snow specks can be made using a toothbrush and toothpaste; we all know this method from childhood!

If you are fond of scrapbooking and have a figured hole punch in your supplies, then making small snowflakes will not be difficult. And if not, don’t worry, the card will look cute enough without them! In addition, you can use a narrow ribbon and tie a beautiful golden bow, and then glue it to the card.

Using this principle, you can make 2 or 3 postcards, replacing only the central pictures and background color!

Candles are generally a win-win option! Designers often use candles in interior decor, so this Christmas gift is a great choice!

You can easily make original candles with your own hands! All you need is regular wax candles, wax molds (use green pea tins!), wax crayons and ice! The candles turn out very beautiful!

If you don’t want to make candles yourself, decorate ready-made ones and add some zest! Decoupage napkins will help you create original gift candles!

Want an even faster way? Please! Buy some decorative ribbon and decorate your candles! What could be simpler!? But it's beautiful, isn't it?

If you want your Christmas gift to be remembered for a long time, make a Christmas composition from candles, fresh flowers and sweets! Yes, you will have to work hard, but there will be no limit to the delight of those gifted!!!

A few more songs for inspiration!

DIY candlesticks

Another great Christmas gift is a candle holder!

To create such a candlestick you will need a small jar, matte varnish, acrylic paint, and a stencil.

First coat the jar with matte varnish. Pre-degrease the glass with alcohol.

Then, attaching a stencil to the jar, cover the image with silver acrylic paint.

To make the design more visible, use a brightly colored candle, such as red. You can choose decorative ribbon and other decorations to match the color of the candle.

You can always use decorative braid as decoration! She looks very impressive!

Christmas angels

Angels are a wonderful gift for Christmas, because many people associate them with Christmas, with the birth of Jesus Christ. Make an angel with your own hands and you definitely won’t go wrong!
