All-Russian children's creative competition "Holy patrons of Rus'. Children's creative competition "Saint Patrons of Rus'"
The beginning of the 9th annual all-Russian children's creative competition "Holy Protectors of Rus'" has been announced. Deadline May 1, 2016.
Organizers: Russian Orthodox Church, Savvino-Storozhevsky Stauropegial Monastery and the Foundation for the Development of Orthodox Cultural and Educational Projects.
One of the main objectives of the competition is to attract the attention of the younger generation to the history of Christianity, its spiritual values and ascetics. Also identifying and supporting artistically and literary gifted children and involving children with handicapped health. The competition is held on a non-commercial basis.
General education schools, children's and youth creative studios, centers, Orthodox gymnasiums, secondary educational establishments and individual participants under the age of 16.
The competition is held in two categories:
- "Fine Arts" - a work of art made in the technique: pencil, colored pencil, pastel, charcoal, sanguine, ink, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, tempera, oil. Works made in other techniques will not be considered. The originals of submitted works must be no smaller than A4 (210mm×297mm) and no larger than A3 (297mm×420mm).
- "Literary creativity" - literary work in prose (story, composition, essay). Works are accepted in in electronic format with one and a half line spacing, typeface Times New Roman or similar, size (point size) from 12 to 14 points. The volume is not more than 5 (Five) sheets.
Competition topics can be:
- The life of the blessed Matrona of Moscow;
- Great Patriotic War. Spiritual feat and prayerful participation of the holy Reverend Matrona in the struggle for victory over fascism;
- Posthumous miracles associated with the name of the blessed Matrona of Moscow.
Participants of the competition in the category "Fine Arts" must keep the originals of the submitted works until the end of the competition.
- Each participant of the competition is awarded with a personal commemorative diploma. Diplomas are sent by the Russian Post to the address indicated by the participant when registering on the competition website.
- Teachers, school teachers who are registered on the site and organized the participation of their wards in the competition are also awarded personalized commemorative diplomas. The results of the competition and the awarding of the winners will be held in Moscow in 2016. The number of laureates and diplomats is determined by the jury.
- As a result of the competition, a book is published - a biography of the holy righteous blessed Matrona of Moscow - a full-fledged manual for extracurricular reading - designed by the best children's works sent to the competition. The organizing committee of the competition distributes the book to school libraries in Moscow, the Moscow region, the regions of the Russian Federation - schools that are active participants in the competition, cadet and Cossack corps, orphanages, hospitals.

1. FOUNDERS, ORGANIZERS, JURY
1.1. The competition was established in 2007 with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Rus', with the support of the State Duma of the Russian Federation

1.2. The founders of the competition are the Russian Orthodox Church of the Savvino-Storozhevsky Stauropegic Monastery and the Foundation for the Development of Orthodox Cultural and Educational Projects.
1.3. The Organizing Committee of the competition includes representatives of state authorities, public and commercial organizations registered in the territory of the Russian Federation.
1.4. The composition of the jury is approved by the Organizing Committee of the competition. The composition of the jury for nominations is formed by the chairmen of the jury for nominations.
2. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
2.1. The purpose of the competition is to instill in children, through creativity, an interest in studying the history of Russia, traditions and Orthodox shrines.

3.1. Works for the competition are accepted online via the Internet from November 01, 2016 to May 01, 2017.
3.2. Final solemn events competition will be held in 2017 in Moscow.

3.5 The competition is held in three stages:
The first one is creative (November 01, 2016 - May 01, 2017): creation of creative works by the contest participants and posting their electronic versions on the contest website;
The second - competitive (May 02 - May 31, 2017): selection of electronic versions of works by a competent jury and identification of the finalists of the competition;
Third - final (June 01, 2017): gala concert, presentation of a commemorative book-biography of the grand-ducal family of Dmitry Donskoy and Evdokia of Moscow, illustrated by the best creative works, awarding winners and active participants, charitable donation of books to the libraries of actively participating schools, cadet and Cossack corps, orphanages. 3.6. Competition topics can be:

4. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE COMPETITION
4.1. To resolve organizational, administrative and economic issues for the duration of the competition, the Organizing Committee is formed and working group competition.
5. FINANCING THE COMPETITION
5.1. The competition is held on a non-commercial basis.
5.2. The benefactors of the competition can be Russian individuals and legal entities who wish to take part in its organization and financing.

Every year - since 2007 - children from different regions actively participate in the competition "Holy Defenders of Rus'": they study unknown history Russia, become co-authors of books and cartoons, contribute to the replenishment of school libraries with extracurricular reading aids. All participants, as well as teachers who take an active part in preparing children for the competition, are awarded personal certificates.
The project “Annual All-Russian Children’s Festival-Competition “Holy Defenders of Rus'” was developed as part of the program of the President of the Russian Federation “Spiritual and Patriotic Education of Children and Youth”.
