How to model a craft step by step

Choose a thin sheet of colored paper, since in the future you will have to fold the squares repeatedly to obtain modules - the rays of a snowflake. Copy or replace color.

Usually snowflakes are depicted with 6 rays, but we will have to place them around a circle, the shape of the parts will be diamond-shaped. To fill the circle without gaps, you will have to prepare 8 modules. Thus, cut out 6 squares of the same size from a sheet of paper.

In each module you need to highlight the cross-shaped middle. Fold the squares diagonally, unfold them, then fold them along the second diagonal.

Direct two adjacent sides to one of the selected diagonals, perfectly aligning them in the center. Now we have a quadrangle from a square with one very acute corner.

Turn the paper over to the other side, make the same central fold, but the other two sides will be bent in the opposite direction in relation to the previous sides. Now you have a diamond-shaped module, the front side of which is two-color.

Prepare 8 diamond modules. The basic rays for the craft are ready.

Cut out a circle from the same purple paper. Lubricate the white side with glue and begin to attach, perfectly matching all the rays.

Fill the circle with rays.

To make the craft more elegant, decorate it with rhinestones. Glue the red pebble to the center.

Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise, leaving the white side inside or vice versa (depending on which you choose white or pink as the main color). Unfold the paper again. Turn the rectangles with the white side facing you (or vice versa). Fold two adjacent corners on one side of the rectangles to create houses.

Turn the back side towards you. Fold the two beveled sides again at the top to create a sharp two-tone corner. The top tip of the corner will be pink (if you fold the paper like this). Bring out the triangle ponytails.

Fold the bottom side as well, but in the opposite direction. Bevel adjacent corners first. Then make an even deeper bend and bring the triangles out.

Prepare 6 identical rays. They are assembled using the origami technique.

Cut an additional circle from the paper you are using or thicker paper. Lubricate the surface of the base with glue. Begin attaching the rays by connecting the base points to the center of the circle.

Glue all the rays evenly around the circumference. We used 6 parts.

The product also looks beautiful on the back side, so choose the part that you like best, and it’s worth making the front side.

Glue randomly small rhinestones - in the center and on the rays. Use pebbles of different colors to make the resulting decoration look rich. New Year's paper craft is ready!

This beauty looks impressive when assembled from paper of two or three colors. In order to make a voluminous snowflake with your own hands, we will need:

6 squares of colored or white paper of the same size;
scissors;
Ruler and pencil;
stapler;
glue.

Work order

Our three-dimensional paper snowflake consists of 6 identical parts. We will make each of them according to a stencil prepared in advance. Draw 6 straight lines on an equilateral triangle disjoint lines at right angles to each other and at equal distances. Leave at least 1 cm between cuts.

Take a square piece of colored paper and fold it in half diagonally.

Make 3 cuts along the stencil. If you decide to make a large six-pointed star for a Christmas tree according to these instructions from sheets of whatman paper in A11 format, you will have to make more cuts. Accordingly, turn, connect and peck too.

Unfold the square and fold the corners of the small inner square together. Secure them with glue or a stapler.

Turn the sheet over to the other side. Fold the corners of the next inner square and also fasten them together.

Turn our craft over again and repeat the steps. In this case, the first smallest folded square will be inside your third square.

Turn the piece over one last time and seal the corners of the largest outer square. We got such a voluminous multi-layer icicle. This is only one sixth of our snowflake.

As already mentioned, our volumetric paper snowflakes, the cutting and installation diagrams of which are given above, consist of 6 identical parts. Therefore, we make 5 more “icicles”. Secure them with staples, three at a time. Bend the tail on which the fastening bracket is located.

Attach the two halves into one whole snowflake. Use a stapler and don't skimp on staples.

To prevent the snowflake from falling apart into its components, it must be fastened with a stapler at 6 points.

All. You can tie a thread and hang a voluminous snowflake from the ceiling or place it on the top of the Christmas tree.

We can do this work from one piece of paper.

Advice: You can make a square out of a rectangle very simply and quickly, without using a ruler and pencil. Fold the leaf, aligning the top short side with the side long side, starting the fold line from the corner of the leaf. Cut everything that remains below the two-layer “pie” evenly. Unfold the rest and make sure you get a square.

Next, unfold the folded paper and bend it along the dotted lines as shown in figure (d). The resulting figure (Figure (e)) must be folded again along the dotted line and then trim off the excess edges. That’s it, the paper is ready to cut out snowflakes :)

Agree, a lot of time and paper can be spent on cutting out snowflakes blindly and choosing at least a few normal ones from the many freaks. In order to carefully work out the shape of a snowflake before moving on to cutting it out in kind, it is best to use some kind of CAD program.

Original patterns for making snowflakes can be created using computer-aided design systems. Let's look at this using the KOMPAS-3D program as an example.

Let's create a 3D model of our future snowflake. Open “File” - “Create”, select “Part”. First we need to create a sketch. We draw two auxiliary lines in it, intersecting at the origin of coordinates at an angle of 30° to each other, as shown in the figure below.

Next, at right angles to the vertical auxiliary line, you can draw another line. The result is a triangular area limited on all sides. In this sector we have to draw the future template of a six-rayed snowflake. To construct various openwork elements and curls, you can use the Spline by Points tool.
