Russian Aviation Day. Air Force Day (Air Force Day)

When finding out when the International Day is celebrated civil aviation often there is a lot of controversy. And misunderstanding is observed precisely among residents of different countries. After all, the day when employees accept congratulations on Civil Aviation Day may not coincide at all with the day on which others are used to celebrating this holiday. And the whole point is that there is a confusion of two similar concepts. International Civil Aviation Day is the same for all. That's why it's international. But the day of a civil aviation worker (without adding the word "international") can be different in different states. But it is probably better to look to the past to find out all the nuances of the present.

The initial path of civil aviation

Aviation (meaning civil aviation) became a more or less tangible phenomenon only at the beginning of the twentieth century. It was at this time that thanks to Russia, Germany, England and France, it was possible to create such devices for flying among the clouds as airplanes and passenger-cargo airships. This happened thanks to the joint efforts of these countries. In imperial Russia itself, due to impending wars and the need to create exclusively military aviation its civilian counterpart did not have time to get proper development at that time. And therefore, pre-revolutionary Russia did not leave behind the Soviet government any infrastructural and industrial legacy in the field of civil and transport aviation.

Civil aviation in those days began with the decree "On Air Movement", which was adopted in 1921, on the seventeenth of January. In this decree, for the first time, flight rules were established, which must be followed by foreign and Soviet aircraft flying over the RSFSR and its territorial waters. The provisions of this decree became the basis of the Air Code of the USSR, which was later approved more than once in the 32nd, 35th, 61st, and also in the 83rd years of the twentieth century. Soon, on May 1 of the year following the signing of the decree, a permanent airline on the Moscow-Königsberg route began to operate successfully, which in 1926 was extended to Berlin. Earlier, in 1923, an airline appeared from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod. Its length was 420 kilometers.

The origin of the holiday

Civil aviation continued to develop. On December 1, 1922, the Inspectorate of the Civil air fleet. Its goal was to develop measures for the development of civil aviation, as well as to control the activities of all its divisions. In addition, February (the ninth day) of 1923 is known as the day the resolution was adopted, according to which the Council for Civil Aviation was organized under the Glavvozdukhflot. After that, every year, Soviet citizens involved in this area accepted congratulations on the day of civil aviation on the ninth of February.

International Civil Aviation Day

As for the assignment of the status of "international" to this holiday, it's a completely different story. International Civil Aviation Day was established in connection with a significant date - fifty years since the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. It happened on December 7, 1994.

The convention itself spelled out special international standards used to fly over foreign territories by civil aircraft, and also indicated the creation of special air corridors that were located over countries for the movement of aircraft. In accordance with this convention, the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) was created. The holiday itself was "invented" in order to draw everyone's attention to this area on an international scale, as well as to its expansion and development.

December 6, 1996 and the UN also announced international day civil aviation on this particular date. In addition, the UN has indicated to the government and relevant intergovernmental, international and regional organizations the need to take appropriate measures and actions to celebrate this date. International Civil Aviation Day is an official professional holiday. It is included in the register of festive and anniversaries Russian Federation. But no matter how significant this day may be, it failed to become a day off - the holiday of workers takes place in the service.

Russian Civil Aviation Day

As already described above, civil aviation in Russia began to develop as early as Soviet time. Since then, it has become an integral part of the life of most of the inhabitants of our planet. overcoming vast distances V as soon as possible, freight and postal transportation - all this is real now, and without this we cannot imagine the present. Civil Aviation Day is celebrated on different countries on different days. In Kyrgyzstan, for example, this day is annually celebrated on October 7, while the Russian Civil Aviation Day is traditionally celebrated on February 9.

Day of civil aviation workers in Russia

Sometimes this day is called differently. The holiday is also called the day of civil aviation workers. Although in some countries it may be two different days. And yet we recall that it can be celebrated in different dates in different countries. So, the day of civil aviation workers in Belarus, for example, is celebrated in November, on its first Sunday. In Azerbaijan - the second of June.

As for Russia, in 2013 the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On the Day of the Civil Aviation Worker" was signed. This document states that professional holiday, called "The Day of the Civil Aviation Worker", has been established and will be celebrated on February 9. This document was published on February 15th. According to the established tradition, on this holiday, all services and flight personnel receive congratulations, and also come to work or go on a flight to dress uniform. And although this date is given great importance, this holiday does not add us another day off. Everyone goes to work according to the schedule.

Other holidays related to aviation

Many more holidays are associated with it. Perhaps some of us are unknown. Perhaps somewhere in distant countries there is even a holiday called Civil Aviation Pilot Day, who knows. But we will mention only a few known dates.

For example, on December 23, when New Year already on the nose, the Day of Long-Range Aviation is being celebrated. But on the first day of the warmer month, June, the day of the Military Transport Aviation is celebrated. A little later - on the seventeenth of July - Naval Aviation Day is celebrated, and on hot August, on the 12th, the day Air force Russian Federation. AND latest date, which is traditionally celebrated for a very long time - August, or rather, its first Sunday. This holiday is called the day of the Air Fleet. We do not have life, but a continuous holiday, however ...

Civil Aviation Day 2019, which will be celebrated in February, is a relatively young celebration celebrated at the official state level. The historical love for the celebration of our compatriots has led to the fact that in the Russian Federation two holidays at once are dedicated to one industry.

Aiming for the sky

Ever since the time ancient Greece humanity sought to conquer the vast expanses of the sky. Having passed thorny path, from the myths of Icarus, to the Wright brothers, man took off. But driving such a machine turned out to be difficult. The well-being of the flight depends not only on the pilot, but also on the people "on the ground", coordinating the actions of the crew during takeoff, route and landing.

Modern aviation companies that provide civilian air transportation employ many thousands of personnel, in which pilots and flight attendants are only a small part. This includes dispatchers, engineers, designers, managers, lawyers, PR people and others. It would be unacceptable if these people were left without the attention of society. In this connection, on December 7, 1996, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution under No. 51 \ 53, which initiated the creation international day civil aviation.

December 7 was chosen for a reason, this day marked the half-century anniversary of the Convention on Civil Aviation, approved in Chicago back in 1944.

Up!

In Russia, in addition to the celebration of the international date, they celebrate the Day of the Civil Aviation Worker. The relevant documents were adopted and signed by the President of the Russian Federation in 2013. Despite the youth of the holiday, the history of its origin lasted almost a century.

It all started back in 1923, when on February 9 the Council of Labor and Defense created the “Organization of the Council for Civil Aviation”. This significant date served as a start for the development of the air fleet of the "young" country. The first cargo airline of the USSR, specializing in the transportation of mail and passengers, was Dobrolet.

Interesting! Dobrolet actively developed due to the sale of a huge number of shares to everyone. The company used the following aircraft:

  • Junkers F.13

Having worked for almost 9 years under a benevolent name, the company changed its name to the well-known and now Aeroflot. Aviation developed faster and faster: new aircraft models were created, improved and modified. Aeroflot served not only for the benefit of civil transportation, the company actively transported cargo of various weights and provided its services for the study of the atmosphere.

Such a colossal contribution to the aviation industry could not be forgotten. The country's administration did not think for a long time what date to hold the celebration. As is often the case, we chose significant date: February 9 - formation of the "Organization of the Council for Civil Aviation".

Feast of the Conquerors of Heaven

Civil Aviation Day is an event when the whole world remembers and thanks people working in this field for their invaluable work. Every day, tens of thousands of aircraft rise into the sky, and the same number land. Working in aviation has a strong impact on health, so the state gives you the opportunity to go on vacation earlier.

The state administration holds events: exhibitions, solemn rewarding of distinguished workers. Veterans of aviation are invited to television, the programs talk about new achievements and developments, and some channels broadcast thematic films.
Corporate companies also congratulate their employees. Announce promotions and rewards with entry in work book taken on that very day. In the regional centers of companies, banquets are held, which most of the heroes of the occasion do not get, because it is impossible to imagine one day without a working aviation.

Special gift

What congratulations to prepare for colleagues or relatives and friends who gave to civil aviation the lion's share your life and health - this is a standard question that you should think about before the holiday. You can use several options, for example:

  1. The simplest, but most significant, is verbal congratulations. By choosing the right phrases, you can show respect and gratitude for the work, thereby making the person pleasant.
  2. In the case of a good financial condition, they give some thing. It can be anything, you just need to take into account the tastes and wishes of the person.
  3. Separately, I would like to note congratulations for aviation veterans. After all, these are older people who may not have enough attention. Pilots and flight attendants love to talk about funny situations that happened to them, and air traffic controllers tell stories about how planes were bred in critical situations. The stories are very interesting and exciting, but an attentive listener may notice that a lot of the stories have a common basis.
  4. Attention - will the best gift, because aviation employees are quite wealthy people and they do not need valuable gifts. If you want to congratulate loved one- get something small, but memorable that you can take with you on a flight, but rather do it yourself.

Civil Aviation Day is a reminder of the burden of responsibility that rests on industry employees and the importance of the work they do.

Civil aviation moves cargo and passengers. The aircraft allows you to quickly cover long distances. In some cases, it acts as a non-alternative means of delivery. Aircraft and helicopter flights have become an integral part of the economy and significantly affect its development. A holiday was created to honor employees of this sphere, increase the prestige and attractiveness of the profession.

Later, an unofficial custom of honoring specialists in the field arose. The tradition of the disintegrated country has been preserved.

On this day, honored figures of civil aviation are honored in Russia, they are presented with gifts, certificates, diplomas. Officials of the government of the Russian Federation send thanks, letters, make speeches and statements. Aviation officials talk about actual problems and ways to eliminate them. Training sessions are being held to improve skills. Celebrations are organized among airline employees. Colleagues exchange gifts, toasts. Veterans share their memories of flying. Thematic programs are broadcast on television and radio stations. Information resources publish materials about the industry, technical staff, journalists talk about important events.

About the profession

Civil aviation employees ensure the movement of passengers and cargo by air. They perform the tasks of agricultural, research, medical, entertainment purposes. The path to the profession begins with obtaining a specialized education. The student acquires the necessary knowledge and skills. Strict requirements are imposed on employees for knowledge of the material part and service standards.

The profession is classified as hazardous to health and life due to high stress, possible accidents, specific working conditions.

In 2013, civil aviation carried 755 million passengers worldwide.

Employees of carrier companies retire earlier due to the danger of work.

In 2012 passenger traffic air transport in Russia exceeded the railway by 70%.

In the Russian Federation, the share of civilian aircraft of European and American production exceeds 60%, of long-haul aircraft - 75%.

Long gone are the days when a man dreamily looked into the sky in the hope of soaring under the clouds. Today it is enough to buy a ticket on an airliner to make your dream of flying come true. It's just at first glance. Dozens of specialists involved in various fields aviation. The calmness of passengers depends on their well-coordinated work. A special holiday was even established for them in February - Civil Aviation Workers Day.

It is not difficult to overcome thousand-kilometer distances in our century. There is no need to spend long days on the road, and sometimes even months. Modern aircraft fly over such segments of the path in a matter of hours. It has become customary for some passengers to fall asleep in the eastern hemisphere and wake up in the western.

But such flights, and even shorter flights, are comfortable and comfortable travel for passengers and the complex, responsible work of thousands of civil aviation employees. Since 2013, it has been customary to congratulate these workers in Russia on their professional holiday in early February, on the Day of the Civil Aviation Worker.

Development of civil aviation: who celebrates a professional holiday?

The question of the use of aviation for civilian purposes arose as soon as military pilots demonstrated in practice the safety and convenience of flights. In 1923, a decision was made to develop a civilian fleet, the name of which was given to Dobrolet. Good flights were designed to move civilian passengers and cargo through the air.

The first flight took place on February 9 between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. This flight was a test flight. Military pilots covered four hundred and twenty kilometers on the ANT-1 aircraft. The flying business began to develop rapidly, and by 1927 an international flight was carried out. Russian plane landed in the capital of Japan. And just a couple of years later, Soviet planes were already flying North American airspace.

The pioneer pilots were the military. It was they who began to train flight personnel for civil aviation. Military pilots simultaneously mastered the features of flights in peacetime and implemented their knowledge in life. Later, specialized educational institutions are opened to provide passenger flights with personnel. They train not only pilots, but also mechanics and flight attendants.

In 1932, the young structure changed its name to Aeroflot and acquired its own flag, and a unique uniform was developed for employees.

After the collapse of the Union, the promoted Aeroflot brand goes to one of the Russian airlines. Against the backdrop of the development of market relations, new structures are emerging that provide transportation services. civilians and cargo.

These organizations employ tens of thousands of employees whose responsibilities include providing flights. And all of them will celebrate their professional holiday on February 9th. On Civil Aviation Day, pilots and navigators of passenger flights, flight attendants and engineers, air traffic controllers and support staff of airports will raise their glasses. All of them ensure the safety of air traffic at all levels.

Congratulations will also be given to veterans of civil aviation, who in their hearts have forever remained inseparable from the sky. People whose work is connected with the design and creation of aircraft will also celebrate. After all, it is their knowledge and responsibility that determine how comfortable and reliable our aircraft will be.

history of the holiday

For the first time, Aeroflot employees were honored with their own professional holiday in 1979, when civil aviation had existed for almost forty years. The celebration was called Aeroflot Day and was celebrated for a long time in mid-February.

After the collapse of the Union as such, civil aviation did not have a professional holiday for a long time. Similar celebrations were celebrated, such as the Day of the Russian Air Force, the Day of the flight attendant. But on an unofficial level, colleagues out of habit gathered in February to congratulate each other on their professional day.

And only in 2013, the President of Russia signed a special Decree number 98, according to which the Day of Civil Aviation Employees received an official status. And the date is chosen exactly on February 9, as a historically significant day in the calendar of the development of aviation.

Civil aviation today

Modern Russian civil aviation has become a multi-purpose industry. It is provided with a huge fleet of various aircraft. The structure includes a developed network of airports, educational and scientific institutions. Ensures uninterrupted operation and vitality of the entire structure of repair enterprises, an extensive flight control system.

And at every step of the complex structure, professionals with capital letter. After all, not only the viability of the industry depends on them, but the safety and comfort of passengers.

Therefore, each employee undergoes special training. In addition, intermediate tests and controls, retraining and advanced training are mandatory for all employees.

In civil aviation, the quality of service is constantly improving, new technologies are being introduced. Passengers today can appreciate the convenience and reliability of aircraft.

Specialized enterprises are working on their construction. Of course, it is hard for the domestic aircraft industry to return to the mainstream after the post-Soviet collapse. But the vector of the industry's development strategy was chosen correctly, and albeit in small steps, this segment of the economy is recovering, and in some places it is ahead of foreign competitors.

Congratulations in prose and poetry

We congratulate all employees of civil aviation on their professional holiday and wish them safe flights without an empty drive. Let all takeoffs be successful, and landings unambiguous.

Larisa , January 16, 2017 .

Russian Air Force Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday of August. In 2019, it is celebrated on August 18th. All aviation employees participate in the celebrations: pilots, flight attendants, airport support staff, repair units. The celebration is joined by employees of aircraft factories, design bureaus, teachers, students and graduates of specialized educational institutions.

Aviation moves people and goods over considerable distances in relatively a short time. Aircraft carry out important military operations: they participate in combat sorties and supply units with equipment and food. A professional holiday is dedicated to specialists who are employed in this industry.

Traditions

On the Day of the Russian Air Fleet, aviation workers accept congratulations. Management hands certificates of honor, valuable gifts to distinguished employees. Colleagues get together festive tables. Events take place in cafes, restaurants or outdoors. A picnic is accompanied by fishing and swimming in ponds, cooking on an open fire. The participants make wishes and toast that the number of take-offs coincides with the number of landings, exchange experiences, and discuss technical innovations.

Television and radio stations broadcast programs about the history of aviation. Pilots, flight attendants, dispatchers talk about their career path, cases during flights.

On this day, events are also held in honor of the Day of the Air Force (Air Force).

Story

The first celebrations took place in 1933, after the publication of the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR dated April 28, 1933 No. 859 "On the celebration of the Day of the Air Fleet of the USSR." The document prescribed to hold events annually on August 18.

The tradition of celebrating was preserved in Russia after the collapse of the USSR. On September 28, 1992, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation issued Decree No. 3564-1 “On the Establishment of the Russian Air Force Day Holiday”. The document formalized the holding solemn events annually on the third Sunday of August.

About the profession

Air fleet pilots provide and conduct flights. They are required to operate the aircraft in accordance with established rules and regulations. Service personnel troubleshoot equipment, replace it, check its functionality.

The path to the profession begins with the end of the profile educational institution. The graduate receives the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Before you become an employee of the air fleet, you must pass certification.

The crew of ships has the right to retire earlier established age. This is due to the harmfulness and danger of the profession, which come not only from technology and nervous tension. In the upper layers of the atmosphere, where aircraft routes lie, the level of radiation is several times higher than on Earth.
