Make beautiful beads with your own hands. DIY jewelry: how to create a unique look

Gone are the days when handmade jewelry was considered bad taste and lack of money. Many designers develop jewelry collections that cost much more expensive than jewelry from gold with diamonds.

So what is jewelry?

By definition, bijouterie (from French bijouterie)- decorations from inexpensive materials. A variety of metals and alloys, transparent and colored glass, plastic, ceramics, wood and leather can be used for production. But high-quality jewelry can consist of expensive crystals, gilding or silvering. This kind of jewelry appearance may be indistinguishable from the real jewelry and cost much more.

In more complex leather jewelry, real patterns are created or figures are carved.

Natural materials (wood, stones, shells)

Wonderful summer decorations can be made from lacquered shells and strung on a thread.

Ordinary pebbles can also be used to create jewelry. Most often stone interesting shape braided with wire to create a pendant:

A wooden decorations have become classics for a long time.

Felt

Felt is a great material for creating jewelry. Decorations are very bright and really sunny.

Rules for wearing jewelry

A few rules to follow when using jewelry:

  1. Decide what you are making jewelry for? If it should complement your look, then it is better to make a classic elegant necklace or neat earrings. If the purpose of jewelry is to create style, then it is better to turn to bright, large jewelry made from different materials.
  2. Decide on a decoration style. Will they fit the event? For example, bright ethnic-style beads will look ridiculous with a business suit.
  3. Accessories should be in harmony in color with your outfit, but made in the same color scheme they just get lost. Check out the stylist's tips on color combinations.
  4. The factor of combining decoration and clothing in form is also important. So, if the dress has round neckline, then the image can be complemented by round earrings.
  5. Don't go overboard with the quantity. Stylists do not recommend wearing more than 3 types of jewelry. And if the accessories are quite large and bright, then it is better to combine them in pairs: a bracelet and earrings; ring and beads.

Now you know how to make jewelry with your own hands and how to wear it correctly. Good luck in creativity!

Adding a twist to your style is quite simple - it is important to use the right accessories. Handmade jewelry is sure to emphasize femininity and attract attention. Due to their uniqueness, they have a special charm and always remain in trend.

Pearl beads

Necessary materials:

  • 50-60 pearl beads;
  • silk threads;
  • needle;
  • carabiner with clasp;
  • 2 end caps for attaching a clasp.

Beads are made in knot technique. You can, of course, just string beads on a thread, but there are 2 reasons to make a product using this technique.

  1. The knots keep the beads from rubbing, thereby maintaining their luster.
  2. Reliability. Even if the beads break, most of the pearls will remain in place and will not be lost.

To secure the trailer, pass the needle into the middle of the device and make a knot, then make another knot on top of it, close the device and start stringing pearls. This last knot is important, otherwise the extreme pearl will rub against the metal clasp.

To ensure that the knots after each pearl lie back to back, you can use silk threads, a large needle or an awl, this will help move the knot to the right place to tie there. WITH ordinary threads it is problematic to do this, they do not slip and are inferior in strength.

When all the pearls are strung, it remains to put on the second limit switch. To do this, pass the needle through back side device and tie a double knot.

To attach the carabiner, you will need round-nose pliers.

Beaded beads

Necessary materials:

  • several types of beads;
  • beads different sizes;
  • spool of fishing line;
  • crochet hook;
  • 40 sewing pins;
  • 2 spiral limit switches;
  • lock for jewelry;
  • sheet of cardboard.

The more types of beads and beads of different sizes you can pick up, the more interesting the beads will look.

Collect the beads on the fishing line as you like. Do not cut the line from the reel. You need to fill in about 5 meters of fishing line.

When the fishing line is full, step back 15 centimeters from its beginning, take a crochet hook and knit a chain with air loops, while making sure that 1 bead fits into each loop, as shown in the photo.

Behind the last knitted loop, you need to tie a knot, after it, step back 15 centimeters and cut the fishing line.

At the next stage, the formation of a multi-level decoration begins. Pin 2 pins to a sheet of cardboard. The distance between the pins will be equal to the desired length of the beads. Stick the remaining pins in pairs under the first ones, all the time, slightly increasing the distance between them, as shown in the photo.

You will get about 16-20 rows in the shape of a trapezoid. Distribute them evenly. Where the air loops are in contact with the pins, you need to put them on, not the pins. It is not necessary to pull the fishing line, a smooth sagging should remain.

The air loops on the right should be collected from the pins on the hook. Through these loops it is necessary to stretch one of the "tails" left on the edge of the fishing line. Put a trailer and the corresponding part of the lock on it, tie a knot and melt it with a lighter.

Do the same with the air loops on the left.

Amber beads

  • 3 types satin ribbons 5, 2.5 and 1.5 centimeters wide;
  • amber beads;
  • 2 decorative rings;
  • 6 clamps;
  • cabochon;
  • jewelry cable;
  • needle and thread;
  • lighter;
  • scissors;
  • pliers.

Using the latch, fix the decorative ring on a piece of jewelry cable.

String beads of the desired length on the cable and fix the free edge of the cable on the second ring with another clamp. Run the second and third row of beads in the same way, but slightly shortening each subsequent row so that the tiers lie beautifully.

From a tape of greater and medium width, 7 and 6 strips are cut, respectively. The length of the segments is determined taking into account the splendor of the future flower: the longer the pieces, the more magnificent the decorative element will turn out.

With a needle and thread matching the ribbons, alternately string the pieces of ribbons folded in half. Start with the big ones, end with the smaller ones.

Tighten the thread so that the "petals" are tightly pressed against each other, and roll the blank into a flower shape.

Secure the flower with a couple of stitches, and decorate its middle with a cabochon.

Sew a flower to one of the decorative rings. From a thin ribbon, measure 2 strips of the same length, they will become strings for beads. Pass them through the rings, fold in half and tie at the back of the neck.

Beads from threads and beads

Required materials and tools:

  • a set of identical beads;
  • chain with large links;
  • ribbon;
  • yarn or floss threads;
  • scissors, needle.

Wrap yarn around the back of a chair.

Having formed the winding of the required thickness, cut it from one end, while holding it behind the other so as not to crumble.

Having determined the middle, fix this place with a thread of the same color as the resulting “tail”. Divide it into 3 equal parts and weave into a tight braid.

Having obtained the desired length, shape the edges of the braid: make a dressing of the same thickness, and cut off the excess, ensuring that the free ends are the same in size.

With a needle and thread to match the braid, sew the weave with a chain.

By leading edge braids through equal segments sew beads.

Instead of a lock, attach to the chain on its extreme links blind seam half a ribbon.

Chanel style beads

Required materials and tools:

  • beads with a diameter of 14 millimeters - any quantity;
  • pins 3 centimeters long by the number of beads;
  • chain with large links;
  • carabiner clasp;
  • a pair of connecting rings;
  • transparent beads;
  • pliers, side cutters and round nose pliers.

String beads on each pin (stud), then a bead.

Having determined the desired length of the jewelry, cut off the chain. Pass the leg of the pin with the bead into the link of the chain and bend it with round-nose pliers in the form of a loop.

Attach several beads to each link of the chain (the number depends on the size of the link and the beads themselves). Having achieved the desired splendor of the decor, put on the details of the carabiner on the edges of the chain, using the rings as connecting elements.

Textile beads in African style

Required materials and tools:

  • satin cords;
  • waxed cords;
  • a dozen separating beads;
  • carbine;
  • a pair of connecting rings;
  • a pair of limit switches;
  • scissors;
  • glue.

From the cords (waxed, satin, soutache are suitable), prepare the base by folding the segments one to one. The thickness of the blank is determined taking into account the diameter of the separating beads.

With thinner cords of a contrasting color, wrap tightly at equal intervals basic foundation, carefully closing the tips under the winding layer. The beginning and end of the "insert" should be decorated by gluing separating beads.

Decorate the edges of the necklace with caps. Then attach parts of a miniature carabiner on the rings.

Necklace made of yarn and chains

Required materials and tools:

  • chain;
  • yarn 3 colors;
  • scissors;
  • side cutter

Take 2 unequal parts of a metal chain. You can connect them into one whole by fixing the ends of the shorter part to the edges of the longer one. Fixing with a thread or previously removed links.

From each skein of yarn, cut 3 threads 2 meters long. Knot the threads of the same colors from one end. Fasten the edges of the threads in the area where the chain segments are connected.

Weave a pigtail out of the threads, thread the extreme threads into the links of the chain so that both the metal and the soft component of the decoration form a beautiful braided crescent.

Having finished with the design of the chains, the remaining ponytails are woven into a pigtail of the desired length. The same pigtail is made from the other edge of the decoration.

Beads "Rainbow"

Required materials and tools:

  • 2 clamps;
  • toggle lock;
  • colored beads 8 millimeters;
  • yellow beads 10 millimeters;
  • jewelry cable - 4 meters;
  • side cutters;
  • flat cutters.

Weaving pattern:

Fold a two-meter piece of cable in half, thread it through the ring from the toggle lock and fix it with a clip. Weave beads from colored beads, as shown in the diagram, it is important to observe the color sequence of the elements.

Having achieved desired length, fasten the cable according to the following algorithm: put on the latch, insert the edges of the cable into the ring of the second part of the lock, insert the tails into the latch. Clamp with pliers, and hide the edges of the cable inside the beads, cut off the rest.

To increase the beads by a couple of rows, you will need orange and yellow beads and the remaining length of the cable (2 meters). Having folded the cable in half, place an orange bead in its middle. Insert one end of the cable into the green bead on the decoration, and on the second end, first put on the yellow and then the orange beads. Insert the 2 ends of the cable inside the orange one and pull it up. The algorithm is repeated until the end of the necklace.

Fix the ends of the wire double knot, after holding them under a row of beads in a necklace and trim.

Beads "Blackberry"

Required materials and tools:

  • beads 4 mm - 134 pieces;
  • chain;
  • pins with eyelets - 2 pieces;
  • carbine;
  • connecting ring;
  • thin wire or fishing line;
  • pliers, side cutters, round nose pliers.

First you need to make blanks from beads. Having fixed 12 beads on a wire according to the scheme, a berry blank is obtained. It is important to remember that the first bead in the workpiece is also the final one. Such blanks will need 11 pieces.

From a pin and a bead, a blank is made with 2 loops around the edges. You need 2 such parts. The chain is divided into 3 parts.

From one end of the chain you need to attach a bead with eyelets, and on the free edge - string all the "blackberry". After, if necessary, cut off the excess length of the chain and connect its edge with the loop of the second bead with a pin. The outer beads became fixators for the immobility of the central pattern.

Attach chains to free loops with the corresponding carabiner elements at the end.

Beads "Turquoise bouquet"

Required materials and tools:

  • turquoise beads;
  • black beads with a diameter of 6 millimeters;
  • metal beads with a diameter of 3 mm;
  • clamps;
  • carbine;
  • wire;
  • connecting rings;
  • round-nose pliers, side cutters, pliers.

Bend a meter piece of wire in half, fix it with a retainer on the connecting ring, decorate with a metal bead.

Put 3 turquoise beads on the ends of the wire, then cross the ends through the black bead. Repeat the algorithm, only at the next crossover of the wire, put on a metal bead instead of a black one. Next, put on 1 metal bead on each edge of the wire and connect the ends with the same bead. A pattern appeared. Repeating similar steps, weave the decoration of the desired length.

At the edge of the product, make a loop, as at the beginning of weaving. To the loops with the help of connecting rings, fasten the elements of the carabiner.

This is almost a magical hobby, and enthusiastic people can no longer refuse it - it attracts and gives positive emotions. For those who want to get into lampworking, there are two ways: make a workshop at home or go to a studio where you can rent a place.

For a home workshop you will need equipment:

  • annealing furnace

  • propane tank

  • oxygen concentrator or oxygen tank (preferably a concentrator)

  • oxy-propane burner

  • range hood (kitchen hood not suitable)

Tools:

  • scapula

  • scalpel

  • tweezers

  • goggles for protection against bright yellow radiation

Materials:

  • mandrels of different diameters (metal rods)

  • separator for mandrel coating

  • glass (usually sold in sticks - these are called "rods" or "darts")

In any case, it's best to get a master from the pros to learn all the details and avoid lampworkers' mistakes. And yet it doesn’t matter where all this is done - at home or in the workshop, the result can be this:

These beads are handmade using the "galaxy" technique - they really look like some kind of space formations. One such galaxy is enough to dress it in silver fittings and get an exclusive pendant, which no one will ever have, because it is almost impossible to repeat the pattern. You can make beads in exactly the same shades, but they will still be slightly different.

Although this is not so important, because quite original bracelets and other handicrafts can be made from different beads:

Or this bracelet

How beads are made

In order for them to turn out beautiful and different, you need glass sticks - it is from them that different beads and figures are made. The sticks look like this:

The master turns on the stove to heat it up, then turns on the burner - and the magic begins. The stick is placed in the flame, the glass becomes fluid, and it is wound around the mandrel. When one revolution is completed, a small bead is obtained. If you wind another layer and another - you get a huge ball.

And in this photo - an almost finished bead in the flame of a burner. I must say that the first time it turns out not very smoothly, but the second or third it will turn out exactly. In addition, the master prompts and helps, if necessary. At home, of course, you will have to do everything by trial and error, but over time it will work out too. It takes about 10 minutes to make one bead.

After the liquid glass has turned into a product, it is placed in an oven for several hours. And here are the finished beads on the mandrel, already taken out of the oven. They must be removed and cleaned from the separator that covers the mandrel

And you can make such monsters or something else - here there is a place for fantasy to roam.

The most unusual item for a beginner in the workshop is a burner. Fire bursts out of it with a powerful jet, which strives to burn. Therefore, first, a safety briefing is mandatory and special glasses are issued through which you can calmly look at the fire and how your bead begins to take the form that you ask it. While the bead is hot, it can be touched up various tools- spatulas, etc. Tweezers are used to make figurines - to pull glass.

And here it is - your first the creation, melted in fire and tempered in a furnace, comes into being. And you, that became a real lampworker.

Now this hobby is gaining more and more popularity all over the world, and in this area there are recognized masters who have reached great heights. They make products that are amazing in their beauty and grace. Looking at them, it is impossible to imagine that it was made by a person. Moreover, each master admits that he still has room to grow - there is no limit to perfection.

How to make beads from beads with your own hands?

Before you start work, you need to decide on the choice of beads and the scheme for embroidery. The smaller the beads, the more delicate the necklace will turn out. In jewelry with large beads you can weave massive elements in the form of stones, such a necklace more suitable for evening events and dresses with an open neckline.

In this article, we will show you various options weaving beads from beads, both for beginners and for "advanced" needlewomen.

Simple patterns of beads from beads

Photo: beautybiser.ru

1. The easiest option is to string beads on a thread with the addition of large stones. Collect beads, periodically adding pebbles in a chaotic manner. The beads must contain several steps. Each new row should be longer than the previous one. After finishing one thread with beads, fasten it to the clasp. You can choose the number of rows yourself. You can not use a lock, securing each row with a knot with the first bead. But in this version, you need to correctly measure the length of the beads so that they can be worn over the head.

2. Pattern weaving. You will need:

    small beads of two colors;

    large beads resembling pearls;

    silk threads - they are more durable and stronger;

Following the diagram below, start weaving a necklace. First, measure the circumference of the neck to calculate the length of the thread.

3. Beads with the addition of glass beads. Weaving is simple, just follow the diagram below.

Beaded beads: a master class on weaving an air necklace

It is named so for a reason. The necklace is light and voluminous.

For weaving you will need:

    Beads different shades that match with each other. Preferably different sizes.

    Beads, stones.

    Fishing line (not the thinnest, otherwise it will not keep its shape, about 0.22 mm).

    Headset (lock, cap, carnations).

    Hook 1.5 mm.

  • Scissors, round nose pliers, pliers.

    Bead container.

1. Determine the length of the product. The air necklace involves 30-40 rows of 50 cm each. At your discretion, you can reduce or increase the number of rows, as well as their length. When you start to crochet a necklace, calculate the amount of material using the following formula: 1 m of strung beads \u003d 2.1-2.2 m. air thread. So for a necklace of 40 rows, you need 20 m of fishing line with strung beads.

2. Mix the beads in a special container. Start picking up on the line, do not cut the line. In order for large beads or pebbles to be distributed at the same distance, pick up small elements for the length of the needle, after them one large one. Do everything by eye, you don’t need to count specially.

3. Start knitting an air thread. Step back from the edge of the fishing line 10-15 cm. Make a loop (0.5 - 1 cm) with your fingers or a hook, thread the hook through it and pull out the fishing line. This is the first loop. Make a few more empty eyelets, so it will be easier to adjust the tension of the fishing line.

4. Start weaving beads. Grab 1 bead or pebble in each loop, you can alternate with 1 empty loop. So you need to tie the entire thread with beads. To prevent the necklace from blooming, you need to pull out the fishing line completely from the last loop, leaving 10-15 cm.

5. Let's start assembling the decoration. Take thick cardboard, into which stick the pins to distribute the air thread. Using a centimeter, measure the distance from the first pin to the second at 45 cm, you can choose a different distance, depending on your wishes (make a necklace under the neck or lower it a little). You can make multiple rows different lengths from each other, increasing the distance. Attach the entire air thread to the pins. Be sure to pull the tail of the line through the last loop, otherwise the thread will begin to unravel.

6. Take a fishing line 15-20 cm long, thread it through the needle and start collecting each row of air thread. Tie a few knots.

Lesson, master class on making simple beads from the remains polymer clay(plastics). I propose the option of using the leftovers after creating other decorations with your own hands. Walkthrough.

Every craftswoman sooner or later, working with plastic, is faced with the need to dispose of various small pieces, leftovers and scraps - the so-called "waste".

Many use waste (garbage) plastic for stuffing beads.

I want to offer you, as an option, to make such beads from the remnants of plastic

This method is not new, it is often used, and similar lessons can be found on the net, but still I think that each person brings something of his own, some little things, details to what he does. Therefore, I hope that the lesson I made will seem interesting and useful to you.

So, we collect plastic scraps that match in color. You don’t need to mix them together, you need to carefully, folding them all together, roll them between your palms, stretching them into a “sausage”.

Then we continue to gently and slowly roll the sausage in our palms, firstly, so that the individual pieces of plastic are aligned, become one whole, and secondly, in this way we warm the plastic with the heat of our hands, making it softer and more plastic.

The photo shows that the color irregularities have smoothed out, “banding” has become noticeable

We fold our sausage in half or three times, as you prefer, and continue to roll between the palms.

We fold again, and roll again - until we achieve the desired thickness of the stripes on the surface of the sausage. The less we roll out the sausage, the larger the strips will be, and accordingly, the longer we roll, the smaller the stripes will be.

After that, we level our sausage on a hard surface.

This is how my sausages turned out

Cut the sausages into pieces. The size of the pieces depends on what size beads you want to get at the output. Here you will have to experiment a little yourself.

To get beads that are approximately the same in size, cut off one piece of sausage, apply it as a sample to the main sausage, and cut off the remaining pieces according to the size of the first one.

The resulting pieces have a very unsympathetic pattern on the end sections.

Therefore, they must be removed. To do this, we pinch the edges of the piece, like a dumpling.

The resulting “comb” is gently pressed down, crushed, but not smoothed, otherwise the stripes in the figure may be smeared

We do the same with the second cut. Then we flatten the resulting piece a little at both ends, giving it a shape close to the ball.

What happened, we roll between the palms, giving the final shape to the bead. Don't forget to ride different sides, that is, we roll 4-5 times clockwise, 4-5 times counterclockwise. This is also necessary in order not to be smeared, not to twist in one direction the drawing.

It turned out a bead

We make a hole. I deliberately made the bead flattened at the top and bottom, that is, I ended up with a bead in the shape of a flattened ball

To do this, put a bead on hard surface, mark the center of the bead, and slowly pierce the bead with a toothpick, while rotating the bead itself on the surface. In this case, the bottom of the bead is crumpled.

We turn the bead over, and insert the toothpick into the emerging hole from the back side.

And again, slowly pierce the bead, while rotating it on a solid surface.

That's how it happened.

We stick a toothpick with a bead into the foam sponge, and send it to bake.

These are the beads I baked.
