Sew a hot water bottle on a teapot in patchwork style. Warmer for a teapot - a simple fabric pattern

Applied creativity It is now very popular among both housewives and busy business women. An item that you can’t buy anywhere, especially if you made it yourself, will bring comfort and warmth to your home. It won't take much time, but it will bring tremendous pleasure.

It’s getting colder outside and you’re increasingly drawn to drinking tea and bagels? Wonderful. Let's go to the kitchen and begin the process. Oh, what a shame, you have to heat the kettle again, which means you have to wait.

Why waste time. I suggest we get down to business. We are opening a master class. So, let’s sew a teapot warmer with our own hands. You can, of course, get by with a bath cap or an old ski shoe. But I suggest you use your imagination and depict, for example, a rooster, or maybe a chicken. And if he carries it, then the Russian woman will be in national costume or an important merchant's wife. I assure you, it will not be much more difficult, but much more interesting.

First master class

Hotty cock

For the base you will need:

  • textile ;
  • padding polyester;
  • buttons - 2 pcs.

This is all. Even a sewing machine is not necessary if you want and skillful hands. And I’m sure you will always find scissors and thread with a needle in your home.

1. Let's start making simple paper. For this you need measure the circumference of the teapot, including the spout and handle, as well as its height. We take these dimensions as a basis.

Take it first the simplest option drawing. I found it on the Internet.

2. Selecting fabrics. The pattern can be absolutely anything, from colorful to monochromatic. If you find extra waffles or terry towels, the cockerel will be irresistible.

If you don’t have padding polyester, this will do batting or any other insulation.

For the wrong side you need a thinner one, but again, cotton material, cambric or chintz. For the manufacture of small parts, such as a comb, beak and beard, try to find a dense one, preferably red, textile. But this is also not a prerequisite. Convenient to use, fleece, drape or any dense material that does not require additional processing.

3. Transfer the design from the paper base to the fabric, not forgetting to add 1.5 cm to the seams. Small parts(comb, beak and beard) are cut separately. And cut it out. All parts need to be cut out in two pieces.

4. Add three layers of our future heating pad in sequence: top, synthetic padding and lining. We pin it with pins. The result was two identical blanks. So that the blanks do not fall apart and have a finished look, we stitch or embroider on each of them by hand decorative seams. This will emphasize the volume. It’s also best to sew an eye button to each separate half right now.

5. We fasten the resulting two blanks together with pins or basting, seam inside, not forgetting to first put the pre-sewn small elements in place: comb, beak and beard.

6. Before stitching completely, turn the sample inside out and try it on., placing it on the kettle. At this stage, we need to make sure that the heating pad will fit just right. Sew the two side elements of the heating pad together using a final seam. And don't forget to finish this inner seam by hand or with an overlocker.

7. If the height of the product allows, fold the bottom edge inward and simply stitch. If not, then use braid, piping or fabric scraps to form a decorative edge of the product.

The heating pad in the shape of a rooster is ready. Now you can put it on the kettle and not worry about it cooling down quickly.

By the same principle you can sew a chicken, excluding one element. Yes, it's a beard. Therefore, we will not repeat ourselves, although chicken will also come in handy, since you also have teapot. And this is already a whole family. Also consider a mitten and potholders in the same color. No doubt, your household will love it.

If you master the simple task of making such an improvised rooster warmer or chicken warmer, then believe me, you will be unstoppable. For this reason, I suggest next master class depict something more delightful.

Second master class

I hope you have heard about the woman on the samovar? Here. Let's make a hot water bottle doll. Believe me, this is also not difficult, since we will use only affordable materials available in every home, which means we won’t have to buy anything special. You are already quite experienced master.

Baba on a samovar or hot water bottle doll

So. Are we sewing a peasant young lady, a merchant's wife or a society lady? The less we guess, the more interesting the result. In addition to the materials that were used for the base of the previous craft, we are looking in the house for everything that could be useful for an exclusive and truly magnificent work.

We will need:

  • ruffles;
  • lace;
  • ribbons;
  • beads

It's simple.

1. Sew according to pre-measured base sizes. You already understand how this is done. But I propose to simplify the task even further and, as a pattern, draw a regular rectangle, the length of which is equal to the diameter of the teapot, including the spout and handle. The height is also known. Don't forget to add 2cm for seams. This will be the basis, it’s petticoat.

2. You need to stitch together the folded parts bases with just one seam.

3. Carefully hem the bottom of the skirt, and assemble the top into a gather, not forgetting to leave a hole for sewing in the body.

Now the underskirt is ready. You can leave everything in this form, additionally placing it on top finished doll a nice apron that can always be removed and washed if necessary. Which, of course, is very convenient.

But, if all this seems not enough for you and your imagination continues to run wild, do not deny yourself the pleasure of amusing your imagination and start sewing a chic overskirt.

4. Overskirt.

If you decide that your product is not a simple woman on a samovar, but an exclusive work of art, then do not limit your possibilities. Use beautiful bright fabrics, lace, ruffles, flounces, artificial flowers and all sorts of fashionable accessories. Anything is good. Sew the finished top skirt along the side seams. Fold the bottom. Once again, evaluate whether all the details are applied and fasten with a cotton base.

That's not all. A little patience.

5. To complete a masterpiece you have to find or make very important details . For them you can use elements of old rubber doll. Of particular value is the head, where everything is already there: eyes with eyelashes, lips, rosy cheeks and even hair. If there is no extra doll in the house, then you will have to work a little more and sew the head, torso and arms separately. Or you can link it. Experiment. Old knitwear, socks or tights can also help out here.

6. Sew up the sewn or knitted head, turn it inside out and stuff it with filler. The pattern for the head is simple and depends on the size of the doll. I suggest using the following.

7. For creating hair and styling hairstyles use any yarn, including bright and colored ones. Can be embroidered on a soft base smooth hairstyle parted in the middle and then braided voluminous braids or tie funny ponytails with bows. Or you can immediately create a full head of hair by first loosening an old scarf, which will give volume and a curl effect. If you decide to dress the young lady in knitted hat, a turban or a spectacular deep hat. In this case, you won’t have to bother with making hair.

8. Cut and cut out the arms and torso according to a simple pattern that does not require exact dimensions. One condition is that all parts of the body must correspond to each other. Each part requires two pieces. Sew them together with neat seams, turn them inside out and stuff them with filling. Convenient to use knitted materials.

The patterns are so simple that you don’t have to look for them on the Internet. You can easily draw them yourself:

9. Arms, torso and ready-made head need to be connected to each other to form a whole workpiece.

10. Finishing touches. Embroider funny ones eyes, nose and smile. Dress the doll in smart blouse. All you have to do is carefully fasten the workpiece to the base (bottom and overskirt). All.

Just great. The result was not a woman at all, but a charming girl. But as soon as you put a crown on her head, she will already be a princess. And with a rose in your black hair you can end up with a beautiful gypsy.

Experiment. Believe me, there will be no limit to the delight of family and friends. Now you know how to sew a heating pad for a teapot with your own hands. Have no doubt, the ability to make such souvenirs will definitely come in handy. You can now give a master class to anyone. Moreover, the issue with gifts has now been resolved once and for all. Especially similar ones textile products is now in fashion. This is also a functional gift. After all, it not only decorates the kitchen, but also allows you to retain heat inside the kettle for a long time. That's what we wanted. Enjoy your tea.

Coming soon new year and This year will be the year of the fiery Rooster, so I propose to sew such a funny rooster for a teapot for yourself or as a gift to your loved ones. This work is simple and practically both a teenager and an adult can sew it.

For work we will need the main fabric, I have in this case flannel. Lining fabric chintz, lace, red fabric for the comb and beard, a piece of yellow fabric 8*8 cm for the beak, a pair of eyes, threads to match the fabric and padding polyester. The padding polyester should be thick, if you have it thin, then you need to take it in two layers. You can use batting.

The pattern is given without allowances. The seam allowance on the sides of the Cockerel and the neck should be 1 cm, and at the bottom 4 cm. When you cut the lining, 2 parts need to be cut with an allowance of 4 cm, and two without an allowance, just make allowances for the sides and along the neck.

The whole work consists of three parts. The first is the cut of all the details. The second is sewing the carcass of the Cockerel insulation. The third is sewing the top and assembling our product. And so let's start cutting. We cut out 2 parts of the body of the Cockerel from flannel, make allowances. We outline the pattern with a piece of dry soap. Don't trace with a ballpoint pen!

In the pattern of the upper part, I cut out the wing so that it would be convenient to mark the place for sewing on the lace imitating wings. We apply markings along the face of the fabric of the already cut piece with soap.

We cut the Cockerel's tail, as well as his comb and beard.

Fold the padding polyester in half, apply the pattern and cut it out without allowances.

We put padding polyester on the inside of the lining with a bottom allowance and cover it with a lining piece, which we made without an allowance. We combine the edges, fold the seam allowance to the top and pin it together, as in the next photo.

Now we manually sweep both parts from all sides. We do this so that when we quilt our part, the padding polyester does not move inside.

Now we start stitching from bottom to top, then turn, stitch 3 cm and go down, etc. So, without stopping, we quilt the entire part. This is what it will look like.

Next we take the quilted 2 parts and match the edges. The hem of the fabric should be at the top and sew along the side, then we go along the neck and again along the side. You get this design. We do not process the edges, as they will be inside the product.

Let's proceed to the second stage. Sew the lace to the wing marked on the pattern.

I have narrow nylon lace. I layered them and sewed them like this.

Now we baste and sew on the comb, making small folds. We do this on both parts.

Fold the yellow fabric for the beak in half, then again and diagonally so that you get a triangle. This is a beak. We pin it or sew it so that it looks into the inside of the product, as in the photo. We turn away the comb. I forgot to take a picture of this moment, so I took a picture when I was sewing the second cockerel. When you have inserted the beak, put on the second piece and pin or stitch along the side, then go along the scallop, then again along the side.

This is what it should look like when you have chipped both parts. When you have stitched it, turn our Petya out. There is no need to process the edges.

Now you have turned the Cockerel inside out, straighten the seams with your hands and stuff the comb, but not very tightly, with padding polyester. Now put the insulation piece we just sewed on the top of the carcass like a sock on your foot. Correct all the edges, wrap the bottom flannel allowance inside the Rooster, pin it with pins and hem it by hand.

This is how you will get it inside, everything is very neat.

We sew the tail. We put lace on the face of one part, put the second part on top and sew it, turn it inside out, put in padding polyester and sew the bottom. The tail is ready!

Preparation for the master class To sew a heating pad for a teapot in the shape of a dog, you will need materials and tools: plain thick cotton fabric for the front part, 50x50 cm; multi-colored cotton fabric for the ear 15x15 cm; dense material (any) for the backing 30x60 cm; padding polyester material with stitching for internal insert 30x60cm; thin padding polyester fabric 30x50cm; decorative elements(eye, nose, sequins, beads, buttons, chain, etc.); braid or strap 15 cm; threads to match the fabric; scissors; sewing machine Pattern and technique for sewing a dog You can use the presented pattern of a dog by printing the drawing on a printer, without borders, the width of the product is 25 cm, the height is 17 cm. However, everyone’s teapots are different, so it’s better to make an individual pattern for the heating pad, having previously measured the height and width of the teapot. On a piece of paper, draw the outlines of the future dog. Put the resulting numbers on paper and draw a rounded rectangle top edges. Based on the size of the main part, draw all the other elements (head, ear and tail) in proportion. Cut out all the necessary parts, taking into account allowances of 1-1.5 cm: The base of the teapot warmer is rectangles with rounded upper edges. You should end up with 7 parts (two front parts, two backing parts, two made of padding polyester fabric with stitching, and one made of padding polyester fabric). Dog's head - 2 symmetrical blanks from the main material. Tail – 2 identical parts made of the main material. Ear – 2 symmetrical ears of one or two colors. Sew the two ears of the dog, leaving room for turning the product inside out. Turn it inside out and iron it well. Sew the tail details. Turn it inside out and iron it. Fill the ponytail with padding polyester. Connect both parts of the head by placing the ear piece between them. Sew, remembering to leave a gap for turning. Make sure that your ear does not get under the stitching where it is not needed. Turn the dog's head inside out and fill it with padding polyester. Use hot glue to attach the dog's eye and nose. You can use ordinary buttons as decorative elements of a dog warmer for a teapot. Using a needle and thread, secure the sequins to the muzzle by passing the thread through the beads. The dog's face is ready. Sew the main and lining fabric pieces along the bottom edge. On the front side, draw a pattern simulating paws with chalk or soap. Make a delay along the drawn lines. Fill the paws with padding polyester. Use the braid to create a loop through which you can remove the teapot warmer and hang it on a hook. Apply the previously prepared decorative elements of the heating pad and secure them with a stitch. Decorate the junction of the neck with braid. Between the front and lining fabric of the back, insert a sheet of padding polyester. Connect the main parts using safety pins or basting. Sew, leaving the bottom edge free. Turn the product inside out and secure the dog’s head for the heating pad with a couple of stitches so that it does not fall. Connect the two parts intended for insertion and secure with a stitch, without touching the bottom. Place the insert into the dog warmer front side outward, so that all open cuts remain inside the product. Fold the bottom inward and secure with safety pins. To make it easier to process the bottom edge, it is better to baste it. Finish the bottom edge with bias tape or a strip of fabric, similar to the bias tape principle. Sew the binding along the wrong side. Unfold the binding and stitch across the face. It remains to add a few bright touches. Sew a chain with a pom-pom onto the dog's collar, and a small bow onto the tail. The adorable dog is ready, now you will always have delicious hot tea on your table. This homemade teapot warmer is ideal for a birthday gift. New Year(especially in the year of the Dog), March 8, Teacher's Day. Don't be too lazy to do it a pleasant surprise for a grandmother or mother, because the value of a thing increases tenfold if it is made with love.

Our detailed master class. For modern housewives kitchen is one of the most important places in the house. Where, if not in the kitchen, does the housewife spend most of her time? This is actually ours workplace. And our mood depends on how comfortable it is in our kitchen. And in order to make it cozy, you can decorate the kitchen with crafts self made. This does not require large financial expenditures. And it doesn't matter if not sewing machine. All crafts can be sewn by hand. All you need is time and patience. We will have a hot water bottle for the kettle light colors.

Pink kitty

To work you will need:

  1. A piece of basic light fabric.
  2. A piece of fabric for lining.
  3. A piece of thin foam rubber or thick fabric (thick napkins for cleaning are sold in hardware stores - these are also suitable).
  4. Pieces of felt for the muzzle and nose.
  5. Ball or bead.
  6. Ribbon for decoration.
  7. A piece of tartan fabric for edging and loops.
  8. Needle.
  9. Scissors.

Drawing details by hand required sizes. The size of the heating pad depends on the size of the kettle. Cut out the drawn details from paper.

We fold the main fabric, lining and insulation in half. Place the pattern on the fabric, trace it, cut it out with a seam allowance. We should get:

  1. The main part of the heating pad is 2 pcs.
  2. Lining - 2 pcs.
  3. Insulation - 2 pcs.
  4. Tail - 2 pcs.
  5. Muzzle made of main fabric - 2 pcs.
  6. Paws - 4 pcs.
  7. Heart, nose, cheeks - 1 pc.

Sew a felt heart to the main part. We take the threads in the colors of the main fabric. We cover the bottom of the heating pad with a checkered fabric for edging.

Sew on the edging. We make a loop from plaid fabric.

Sew together the two parts of the tail on your hands. Smooth it with an iron.

Turn it inside out front side and stuff it with padding polyester.

Sew a loop and a tail on the cat.

We sew together all the parts of the heating pad. We should have lining fabric on top.

We sew felt cheeks to the muzzle.

We make a red nose: we sew red thread in a circle, then we will tighten the thread.

We tighten the red thread and stuff the nose with padding polyester.

Sew on the nose and make pink specks of the mustache.

We embroider black closed cat eyes.

From the wrong side we sew the cat's face. We leave space at the bottom of the muzzle for stuffing with padding polyester.

We stuff it with padding polyester and sew up the bottom of the muzzle until the end.

Sew the two legs together, leaving room for stuffing.

We stuff the paws with padding polyester, sew them up and sew the muzzle and paws to the heating pad.

We decorate the Cat with a bow and a ball, and sew it on.

This is what should happen with reverse side. Front view:

This is such a beautiful heating pad.

Tabby cat

For work we will need:

  1. Main fabric (color as desired).
  2. White lining fabric.
  3. Scissors, thread.
  4. Paper for the diagram.
  5. Pencil.
  6. Cardboard.

Now let's get to work and start with the fact that we need to measure the teapot. We measure at its widest part and add a few more centimeters to the figure so that the heating pad can be put on freely. Then we divide this figure in half, based on the resulting figure we need to cut out two parts for the body of the heating pad. We will cut them out from the main fabric, making seams for allowances. Now we cut out the overlay for the muzzle and ears (2 parts).

Take the white lining fabric and cut out the lining for the ears, and long strip will become a tail. For lining the ears, we cut out two parts, and we will not leave allowances, since we will not need them. If you choose a warm fabric, then sewing will be much easier. If you still sew from light fabric, then we need to insulate the cat with a thin layer of padding polyester, and then sew the lining. You will end up with a neat interior made of light fabric and a synthetic padding on the outside.

Now we sew the ears, you need to make small folds on the inside of the ears, and turn them inside out. Let's proceed to the upper part of the heating pad, it needs to be sewn on both sides, insert the ready-made ears and continue sewing along the seam line. We need to insert a loop in the same way. We make the loop from the main fabric to match the color of the cat. We turn the finished body inside out and put the lining on it.

Now you need to carefully sew the lining to the top seal bag, while matching all the side seams. We make a tail, cut it out of the main fabric, then sew up one of the short sections, this is the tip of the tail, and turn it inside out. After this, we stuff the tail with padding polyester; this should be done in small pieces, pushing one after another.

We make an overlay for the cat's face. Its inner insert will be a cardboard oval. It should be slightly smaller than a fabric oval. In order to make the muzzle more prominent, we lay it between the oval of cardboard and fabric. thin layer padding polyester. We sew an “over the edge” seam around the edge of the fabric, then insert a cardboard oval and tighten the thread. This is how we got the overlay. We sew it to the body. In this case, the seam should not run along the edge, but in the fold between the body and the lining. Now you can sew on the tail and decorate the face, and the warmer for the cat teapot is ready.

A teapot warmer is a functional item and a stylish element of kitchen decor that will highlight your taste.

First you need to decide how you will make it: knit or sew. Then we select appearance. You can look at a photo of a heating pad for a teapot on the Internet, or come up with a unique design.

IN Lately Warmers in the form of a doll or animal (usually an owl, chicken, cat, etc.), or in the form of a fruit or vegetable, are becoming increasingly popular. Next, you need to decide for yourself: will it completely cover the teapot or will the spout and handle remain open. Not only the form, but also the stages of work will depend on this.

Here we will provide a master class on making three heating pads: sewn, crocheted and knitting needles.

To make a heating pad for a teapot with your own hands, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • needle;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine (if possible);
  • compass (can be replaced with any container of a suitable size);
  • tailor's chalk (or a piece of dried soap);
  • threads;
  • fabric for the top of the product (can be absolutely any texture);
  • interlining;
  • padding polyester;
  • ruler or measuring tape;
  • paper or newspaper (for making a pattern).

If you know how to knit, the set will be smaller:

  • hook or knitting needles;
  • reinforced threads, acrylic or wool;
  • sewing needle, a needle with a large eye for threading thick threads;
  • lining fabric (preferably cotton).

Step-by-step description of actions

First, I’ll tell you how to crochet a heating pad for a teapot. It will be in the form of a chicken.

Crochet heating pad

After choosing a design and type, we get to work. Let's consider the option of making a closed heating pad, since it is easier to make. It is better to start knitting from the bottom. We cast on the first row of loops, equal to the width of the teapot, 2 centimeters. Then we knit in the circle up to 1/3 of the height. After this, we decrease the loops on both sides (from the side of the spout and the handle), 1st in each row, and so on until the end of the height of the teapot plus 1 cm.

At the end of the work, close the part, fold it in half to form an even trapezoid and connect both edges with the last column. Bottom edge can be made from contrasting threads.

Then we knit a circle for the head (from two halves), onto which we attach button eyes on both sides (you can glue ready-made ones). We make the beak in the form of a triangle. Having collected all the parts, we sew the workpiece and stuff it (with cotton wool, scraps, etc.).

We attach the finished head to one of the ends. We make wings and sew them on the sides of the trapezoid. Upon completion of the work, we cut out the inner cotton part. This will prevent any yarn lint from getting into the kettle. It should be 0.3 cm smaller side seam, and 1 cm longer in length than the top one.

We sew the lining. If the material is fraying, we process the edges with overlock, zigzag or finishing braid. Now let's connect the parts. Knitted cover turn the seams inside out, the lining with the seams out and insert it into the first one. We fasten the parts. We bend the bottom of the lining and attach it to the outer part.

Knitting heating pad

The second option is for working with knitting needles. The knitting pattern is simple: we cast on an edge row equal to the volume of the teapot + 1 cm and knit the fabric in garter stitch at two heights + 2 cm. Fold it in half and sew the sides together. We knit the ears tightly so that they stand up.

There are two ways - either cast on the loops from the top row or separately. The number of loops affects the length and durability of the ears. It's better to limit yourself to 10-15. When working, at the beginning of each row we knit the first two loops together. We knit this way until the end until two or one loop remains.

We sew on ears, eyes and a nose from buttons (or glue store-bought ones) and embroider mustaches. Top part already ready. Further everything is the same as described above.

Sewn heating pad

The third type is for those who love to sew. Draw a semicircle with a diameter 1-2 cm larger than the teapot. We cut the blank from fabric, non-woven fabric and padding polyester. We fold the fabric with the front side inward, apply padding polyester to the back and connect it along the perimeter, leaving the bottom open.

We sew the interlining along the perimeter (except for the bottom), leaving 10 cm on one side. Then we put the lining with the right side inward and sew it along the bottom, turn it inside out through the hole, which we then hem hidden seam manually or by machine. All is ready! Enjoy your tea!
