Racial theory in Nazi Germany included the cult of biologically healthy female body, the cult of childbearing and the multiplication of the nation. Thus, the very meaning of communication between a man and a woman was deprived of any romance, giving way to physiological expediency. There is an opinion that the "Aryan" standard of beauty is boring, monotonous and joyless - a muscular blond with a fixed lower jaw and a "snow queen" devoid of any piquancy.

National Socialist propaganda used interest in the chaste-naked human body to demonstrate the Aryan ideal of beauty, to educate a physically developed person. By itself, marriage was not considered an end in itself, it served the highest task - the multiplication and preservation of the German nation. The personal life of two people had to be consciously placed at the service of the state.

As a standard of beauty, antique was chosen, with its ideal perfection of forms. The sculptors of the Third Reich - Josef Torach and Arno Breker carefully embodied the image of the superman in their monuments. Supermen were simply obliged to resemble ancient gods and goddesses.

In a perfect body, the visual arts of National Socialism embodied the idea of "blood" (nation). "Blood" in the ideology of National Socialism was directly connected with the "soil" (earth). IN this case it was about the symbiosis of the people and the land, as well as their material and mystical connection. In general, the idea of "blood and soil" was turned to pagan symbols of fertility, strength and harmony, expressing nature itself in human beauty.

National Socialist art paid great attention to the theme of the family, women and motherhood. In the Third Reich, this value triad merged into a single whole, where a woman was exclusively the continuer of the family, the bearer of family virtues and the keeper of the hearth.

As Hitler stated: “German women want to be wives and mothers, they don’t want to be comrades, as the Reds call for. Women have no desire to work in factories, in bureaus, in parliament. Good house, beloved husband and happy children are closer to her heart."

The National Socialist fine arts formed the image of a German woman exclusively as a mother and guardian of the family hearth, depicting her with children, in the circle of a family engaged in housework.

The National Socialists did not recognize any equality of women in public life - they were assigned only the traditional roles of mother and girlfriend. "Their place is in the kitchen and in the bedroom." After coming to power, the Nazis began to view the desire of women for professional, political or academic careers as unnatural. Already in the spring of 1933, the systematic liberation of the state apparatus from the women employed in it began. They fired not only employees of institutions, but also married women doctors, because the Nazis declared the care of the health of the nation such a responsible task that it could not be entrusted to a woman. In 1936, married women who worked as judges or lawyers were relieved of their posts, since their husband could support them. The number of female teachers was sharply reduced, and in women's schools, home economics and needlework became the main subjects. Already in 1934, only 1,500 female students remained in German universities.

A more differentiated policy was pursued by the regime in relation to women employed in production and in the service sector. The Nazis did not touch either those 4 million women who worked as "home assistants" or the numerous detachment of saleswomen whose working day was not fully paid. On the contrary, these activities were declared "typically female". The work of girls was encouraged in every possible way. From January 1939, labor service became compulsory for all unmarried women under 25 years of age. Mostly they were sent to the village or as servants to mothers of many children.

Gender relations in the Hitlerite state were influenced by numerous public organizations. Some of them included women together with men, others were created specifically for women, girls and girls.

The most massive and influential among them were the Union of German Girls (BDM), the Imperial Labor Service of Women's Youth (Women's RAD) and the National Socialist Women's Organization (NSF). They covered a large part female population Germany: more than 3 million girls and girls were in the PM at the same time, 1 million young German women went through labor camps, the NSF had 6 million participants.

In accordance with the National Socialist ideology, the Union of German Girls set as its task the education of strong and courageous women who would become comrades to the political soldiers of the Reich (educated in the Hitler Youth) and, becoming wives and mothers, organizing their family life in accordance with the National Socialist worldview, would raise a proud and hardened generation. The exemplary German woman complements the German man. Their unity means the racial rebirth of the people. The Union of German Girls instilled racial consciousness: a real German girl should be the guardian of the purity of blood and people and raise his sons as heroes. Since 1936, all girls of the German Reich were required to be in the ranks of the Union of German Girls. The only exceptions were girls of Jewish origin and other "non-Aryans".

The standard uniform of the Union of German Girls is a dark blue skirt, a white blouse and a black tie with a leather clip. Girls were not allowed to wear high heels and silk stockings. Of the jewelry, rings and wristwatches were allowed.

The worldview, norms of behavior and lifestyle acquired in Nazi organizations influenced the way of thinking and actions of many representatives of the older generation of modern Germany for a long time to come.

When the girls were 17 years old, they could also be accepted into the organization "Faith and Beauty" ("Glaube und Schöncheit"), where they were at the age of 21. Here the girls were taught to lead household prepared for motherhood, childcare. But the most memorable event with the participation of "Glaube und Schöncheit" was sports and round dances - girls in identical white short dresses went barefoot into the stadium and performed simple but well-coordinated dance movements. The women of the Reich were charged with being not only strong, but also feminine.

The Nazis propagated the image of a "real German woman" and a "real German girl" who doesn't smoke, wears no makeup, wears white blouses and long skirts, and wears her hair in braids or in a modest bun.

Also, the authorities, in accordance with the "Blood and Soil" installation, tried to introduce as festive clothes"tracht" - that is, dress a national style based on the Bavarian dress.

W. Wilrich. Daughter of a Bavarian peasant. 1938

So stylized" national clothes"worn by participants in the grandiose theatrical celebrations that the Nazis liked to arrange in stadiums.

A special place was occupied by sports and group games. If the boys emphasized strength and endurance, then gymnastic exercises for girls were designed to form their grace, harmony and sense of body. Sports exercises were selected taking into account female anatomy and the future role of women.

The Union of German Girls organized hiking trips, in which the girls went with full backpacks. Campfires were lit, food was cooked and songs were sung. The nighttime observations were successful. full moon overnight in a haystack.

The image of the Hollywood "vamp woman", which was popular in Weimar Germany, was especially attacked by Nazi propaganda: " war paint more befits primitive Negro tribes, but in no case a German woman or a German girl. "In exchange, the image of a" natural German female beauty True, it should be noted that these requirements did not apply to German actresses and movie stars.

Portrait of a woman from Tyrol

They perceived the image of the emancipated Berlin woman of the 1920s as a threat to public morality, to the dominance of men in society, and even to the future of the Aryan race.

In many in public places even before the war there were posters "German woman does not smoke", it was forbidden to smoke in all party premises, in bomb shelters, and Hitler planned to ban smoking altogether after the victory. At the beginning of 1941, the Imperial Association of Hairdressing Establishments adopted a directive that limited the length of women's hairstyles to 10 cm. long hair, unless they were put in a modest bun or braided.

The German press emphasized in every possible way that the outstanding successes of the magnificent actress and director Leni Riefenstahl or the famous sports pilot Hanna Reitsch were directly related to their deep faith in the ideals of National Socialism. The former actress Emma Goering and the mother of six children Magda Goebbels were also declared role models, whose elegant toilets clearly showed German women that there was no need for a true National Socialist to dress in a modest uniform of the Union of German Girls.

German women, on the whole, calmly perceived the policy pursued towards them. The improvement in the well-being of the population also contributed to the loyal attitude of German women to the new regime. This was also facilitated by the favorable demographic policy of the ruling party in support of the family. The Nazi regime was very interested in increasing the population. If a working woman married and voluntarily left her job, she was given an interest-free loan of 600 marks. Since 1934, active encouragement of the birth rate began: child and family benefits, medical care were introduced large families provided at discounted rates. Were open special schools where pregnant women were prepared for future motherhood.

In any case, Germany became the only major European country in which the birth rate has steadily increased. If in 1934 a little more than 1 million babies were born, then in 1939 - already about 1.5 million children.

In 1938, the order was established - "Mother's Cross" - in bronze, silver and gold. The inscription on reverse side The cross read "The child ennobles the mother." As conceived by the Ministry of Propaganda, women were to take the same place of honor among the people as front-line soldiers. Three degrees of an honorary title were established - the 3rd degree for 4 children, the 2nd for children (silver), the first for 8 children (gold).

Paradoxically, this anti-feminist regime contributed a lot to improving the real situation of women. Therefore, it is not surprising that the vast majority of German women adored their Fuhrer. They were largely impressed by the statement of A. Rosenberg that "the duty of a woman to support the lyrical aspect of life."

Today the topic is rather delicate and slippery. Why? Any emigrant from Eastern Europe considers it his due to express everything he thinks about German women. "We are accustomed to something else! Our women are feminine, beautiful, warm, selfless, emotional.. Here women have too many purely masculine qualities."

Yes, they are different and they went to this for a long time. Something worth learning from them, but something causes condemnation and misunderstanding. Everyone decides for himself what it is.

Let's just look at the portrait average German. Without stereotypes, without taking into account the exceptions that are also found in Germany.

About German women

1) I'll start with the fact that the Germans - independents. This is instilled in them from childhood by their parents and passes through their whole life. They realistically evaluate their life and their opportunities, set goals for themselves and achieve them themselves, developing professionally.
It does not matter who the young lady is studying for and how rich her parents are. Sitting on their neck until the end of their studies or until marriage is really bad form. Girls earn extra money, make their way on their own, live separately in rooms or dormitories, and after graduation, they independently go to another level.

Germans do not wait for a meeting with a handsome prince who will ensure their lives, put their houses on a pedestal and decide everything everyday problems. Even relationships where a partner earns much more are considered equivalent in Germany - after all, for a German woman there is nothing worse than dependence on a man. A partner in a relationship in this country is not a lifesaver for all troubles and problems, but a person with whom it is really good.
Standing firmly on their own feet, German women boldly go through life, knowing that with the appearance or departure of a man, there will be no major shocks in their lives.

2) German women - free. Why did I choose this adjective?

They are free from unnecessary troubles. They do not spend hours choosing what to wear and how to put on make-up, they do not put on uncomfortable, but beautiful shoes on a date and don't feign for the sake of a man that they like football if (which is now unlikely, of course) they don't. They are not 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in "combat readiness" to meet their destiny.

A tiny percentage of German women suffer from shopaholics, dietomania, and very few people are puzzled by the desire for perfect figure and toned ass. Yes, they try to eat right, go in for sports more often than men, drink liters of water and reduce portions, but they do it for themselves.

German women are free from complexes about their appearance. They are not subject to thoughts like "ahh ahhh, I'm 28, I'm almost an old purse, and I'm not married yet, what a nightmare, it's time for me to have children."

German women do not see the only meaning of their life in marriage and motherhood, they dress what they like, do not try their best to emphasize their waist or chest and put on their coats themselves.

Once I attended a meeting of my husband's colleagues before their important meeting with clients. After the meeting, I asked my husband in surprise if he was okay with the fact that his subordinate female colleagues wear pajama pants or blouses and blazers of nuclear-atomic incompatible colors. He replied that although they did not have a dress code in the company, it would, of course, be nice if they dressed in soothing colors and business style, but just try to tell them - this will be regarded as an infringement of their rights and freedoms. Let them wear what they want, my husband said :)

3) German women cannot imagine their life without work.

Yes, they choose both the university and the subsequent place of work solely with their desires and plans in order to enjoy it all their lives.

Work is not only a way to make money, but also the place of a German woman in society, her meaning of life, self-development and realization. Sitting at home and cooking borscht for a German woman for her husband is worse than any nightmare. After the birth of a child, she will look for an opportunity to go to work as soon as possible so as not to degrade and turn into service personnel. Often, who will sit with the child is decided not only by gender.

At work, women demand equality with men, do not tolerate discrimination, shake hands when meeting, and strive to build an enviable resume.

Surprisingly, it is in Germany that women for a long time were hostages of three "K": "Kinder, Küche, Kirche" (children, kitchen, church). The role of a housewife, who could not study, work, participate in elections and even drive a car, which was once so hopeless for German women, launched a process of pronounced emancipation. Now a woman is a full-fledged, equal to a man member of society with similar rights.

But not everything is so rosy - it is still difficult for women in Germany to combine work and children. At least because state kindergartens they only work until 4:00 pm at the most, and if mom doesn't want to give up a full-time job, the family will have to pay a lot of money for a private kindergarten or Tagesmutter ("day mom").

4) German women are pragmatic and rational

I heard from someone that a Slav woman smells of warmth, and a German woman smells like a calculator. Well, what can we expect, such is life here, often emotions and impulses remain outside the limits of calculations and tax papers.

Yes, that is why so many German men who meet girls from Eastern Europe on the way, from whom warmth, care and femininity emanates, dream about them. Not all Germans like cold and prudent German women by nature. Indeed, in the first place for a German woman is always her "I", then "WE", and then "HE". For a Slav, everything is exactly the opposite, and this is such a rarity in modern Germany!

However, I will not be one-sided - there are, of course, in Germany men who are tired of emancipation, mainly those in whose families there was no trace of it. Such seek to find a feminine and caring wife. But among the traditional, native Germans, who have a traditionally German social circle, there are very few men who are ready to accept other rules of the game. And what - we know - to help a foreigner to integrate, which is often similar to raising a child, to help her learn the language, to live for a long time on one salary, to bear responsibility for everything and complicate life for yourself, your loved one.

Therefore, if you, my dears, have german husband or a groom who loves you and has gone through it or plans to go through it - know that this is love and he needs you.
And maybe I take a lot on myself, but I’ll give you advice - stay women, be the way our environment brought us up, don’t look at German women, don’t try to be like them in behavior. Yes, it will be necessary to get used to something, to learn something from them, but our Russian female nature goes through all the difficulties with us, be proud of it. And German women, German women also have something to respect and love for. You just need to take a look.

5) German women value themselves and always make their own choice in life.

They know their rights, know how to behave in this once men's world and, although their nature often whispers to them about their natural weakness, they do not make concessions, push through with their elbows, achieve heights themselves and demandequality and justice, ranging from the size of salaries and ending with the amount of the insurance premium.

Discussion of men is far from the most frequent topic of girl gatherings. After all, they have their own problems and needs. And they are by no means less important than men's.

Most German women associate an expensive gift from a man with the superiority of a man and an attempt to impose obligations on her.

If a girl earns more than her boyfriend or on par, she will more than half the time try to pay for herself, or even for him in a restaurant, explaining this solely by the difference in their salaries or their equality.

Yes .. German women ... They save themselves for expensive bags, jewelry and clothes and are not at all shy about it. They take cars on credit, cancel a date because of a workout, dress randomly at a young age, and stylishly and tastefully at a mature age. Germans - the same phenomenon of independence, acquiring its features over the years.

6) Children

There are German women who give birth to children in young age and housewives who chose the profession for themselves.

Most women in Germany combine everything - work, pregnancy, hobbies, children, travel ... and do it amazingly naturally and without unnecessary nerves. Maybe because she doesn't have to drag the children only on her own hump? Husbands in Germany take a very active part in the upbringing of children.

But some German women who have achieved a lot in life, consciously abandoning children in family. Why is this happening, you ask? Let's try to figure it out

- German women generally rarely think about children before they are firmly on their feet. If she has a good career, and maternal instinct is in force various reasons never appeared ... this is the outcome

- Previously, children provided support to their parents in old age. Now this support comes from the state, and children in Germany do not help their parents financially (there are rare exceptions). After school, the offspring scatter somewhere to universities and other universities and colleges, the very minimum remains at the place of birth. Further, their place of residence depends on work.
It turns out that after the children come of age, the family breaks up. The chicks flew out of the nest and occasionally visit again. And only at Christmas and Easter do they all get together. There's no feeling here big family. where everyone lives next to each other and always helps each other. Grandmothers rarely sit with their grandchildren, and children offer help to their parents. After all, they receive a pension, and their children themselves earn money for kindergarten and nannies for granddaughters.

For some women, this is not enough to sacrifice their well-being and career.

In such a situation, you can either sympathize with them wholeheartedly, or envy their freedom of choice. You decide.

7) Clothes

In fact, the picture differs from city to city. I live in a fairly large city in the south of the country, there are many wealthy people and good salaries. What catches your eye when you see how German women dress?

- Everything, of course, depends on age and wealth.

Because female students here often do not sit on the neck of their parents, then they dress quite untidy, the same and gray. The same young girls who live with their parents or pull money from them, dream of luxury things, live in fashion and cosmetics, post their bows on Instagram and actively adopt trends from each other.

The ladies who work are also divided into two types - there are those who are nice to look at - beautiful, tasteful and very neat girls. But more than half of them also dress randomly, facelessly and, most importantly, comfortably.

Older ladies here often amaze with their expensive outfits and accessories. After all, wealth and a sense of beauty grows in Germany with age.

In general, the female mass in Germany looks rather faded, so well-dressed, slender and well-groomed girls are very conspicuous and turn the heads of men.

However, if the Germans go to an evening event, to the theater or to a concert, then they will take the time to put themselves in order. Only then can German women be seen in all their splendor.

- Bags.

For many German women who already earn money and look after their appearance, what hangs on their shoulders is very important.

Honestly, quite recently I experienced a real shock when I was waiting for my husband near the metro in the city center - I have never seen so many luxury bags! And it was not some prestigious area or an alley of boutiques, but every second or third - Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton or, at worst, Michael Kors or Hess. From teenagers to older ladies! And moreover, these bags do not look tasteless or stupid on them, to think that they are fakes! Now I notice them even more often. Like this pure german fetish.

- For those who care about their own appearance are generally very important accessories- chains, pendants, bracelets. Not parrot, but modest, rather emphasizing individuality.

- The general trend in Germany - buy less things but expensive and high quality. The average German woman would rather buy herself good bag and high-quality shoes every six months than every month to run around the shops and buy junk of dubious quality.

8) Makeup

More than half of German women do not make up almost at all, or so that it looks as natural as possible, and when choosing cosmetics, they are guided by price, naturalness, minimal impact on environment and lack of animal testing.

Half an hour- this is the maximum that German women spend on fees and putting themselves in order in the morning.

However, among young ladies with their own earnings or teenagers with good parenting, beauty blogs and Instagram are becoming very popular, where fashion trends develop, trend cosmetic products who buys one after another. These German girls are actively testing everything in the world, posting everything online and improving their makeup skills.

It seems to me that the main cosmetic fetish of German "advanced" girls today is eyeshadow palettes.

9) Sports

You will see all sorts of German women in Germany, but almost all of them are actively involved in sports. There are a huge number here fit women ! Yes, they may be unkemptly dressed or not made up, or just not very pretty, but they are athletic. Someone spends evenings in a fitness club, someone runs, someone rides a bike to work, someone does Pilates ... In any case, the result is obvious.

In addition, I note that among German women (especially from the north of Germany) there are fewer large women with wide hips, larger bust and a more feminine distribution of adipose tissue than in Eastern European and southern countries.

Naturally, they want to match!

Do you want to know what training program I follow and how I came to the conclusion that the German nutrition system ""Schlank im Schlaf"" is perfect for me?

10) Attitude towards money

Is it related to high taxes and social payments, other priorities, good quality inexpensive products or frugality .. but what is normal for a St. Petersburg or Moscow girl average price, is perceived differently. Very often you can hear - 40 euros for procedures with a beautician? Yes, it's a robbery! Mascara for 10-12 euros is considered an average price segment here and is considered "expensive" and "decent!", everything from 17 euros is "luxury". Shampoo more expensive than 5 euros is also a luxury.

The Germans never fill the refrigerator with food from top to bottom. As with clothes, they prefer to buy little, but definitely the right and high quality.

Absolutely every German woman plans a budget. You can ask her - how much did you spend this month on food or on clothes? Most likely, she will be able to give you the exact amount without hesitation or look at the appropriate notebook or phone before that.

In a family, a woman in Germany never plays a passive monetary role, almost all couples in Germany have a joint budget, where it is distributed in advance who pays for what. Women here earn money not only "for themselves", but also for the family.

11) Emotionality

Compared to German women, Russian women are "loud", I have heard this more than once. After all, both men and women in Germany are almost never seen in emotional quarrels with screaming, waving their hands, tears and, even less often, assault.

The conversations of girlfriends among themselves are also more often more restrained, without loud laughter and wide-amplitude gestures. Of course, if the Italians do not interfere in the conversation))

It is very rare to see a German mother yell at a child or emotionally and loudly scold him. Usually a sharp answer in the style of "No!" or a calm and brief mature explanation of the situation is enough, and the rest of the action does not provoke any reaction in the mother.

12) Hairstyle

German women may not wear makeup or choose clothes by color, but hair is sacred. In Germany, there are a huge number of hairdressing salons and visiting a hairdresser once every 2 months is a common thing here. This is one of the most important components of self-care for a German woman.

13) Self care

Manicure and pedicure almost all German women do it themselves, extensions and gel nails here are more common among immigrants. Many German women do not do manicures at all, and this, believe me, is a terrifying sight.

Cosmetologist visited by women only with their own decent earnings and mature skin, from about 35 years old.

solariumin Germany, fortunately, it is becoming less and less, almost everyone knows about their dangers. Self-tanners have long defeated artificial UV radiation in Germany.

Waxing- is also very popular among women in Germany and refers to hygiene rather than aesthetic procedures. All waxing parlors must be booked in advance, except for some of them, where a "live queue" is practiced.

cosmetics German women choose for reasons of low price and naturalness. Before choosing cosmetics, they prefer to study reviews on the Internet, the composition of the product, compare prices in online stores, pharmacies and drugstores. Those who can afford it are willing to switch to "luxury".

14) Health and sleep

The attitude towards health among women in Germany is very sensitive and clear. As that - at once write down to the doctor.

Most mature people eat right, know what is good and what is bad, and can even scientifically substantiate it.

And what is very important for everyone without exception in Germany is sleep. Without compromise, German women sleep at least 7 hours a day no matter what. Between makeup in the morning, washed hair, manicure, heavy breakfast and good sleep, the latter is always chosen. For which they can only be praised.

15) I can't bear to get married

This is not about the Germans. Yes, we all dream in our hearts to receive a beautiful marriage proposal.

But in practice, women in Germany look at it also very pragmatically. She must be ready for marriage, stand on her feet, be happy and live in harmony with herself before she decides to share her blessings with another person. It is a very common occurrence when the thought of marriage comes to a woman's head first and she proposes to a man herself. Yes, yes, this is true, although it sounds like a different reality.

Finally, I want to say that despite all the cultural, material, spiritual and physical differences between us, Germans and Russians, we are very similar.

Yes, maybe, and it is unlikely that a typical German woman and a typical Russian will become best friends, but with the advent of the first immigrants in this country, the image of a German woman began to change dramatically.
It is already difficult to write about Germans now - after all, we are considering those who grew up in a German environment and were not subject to the influence of other cultures. And there are fewer and fewer of them in Germany.

Therefore, study the country and people, look at the world from a different perspective, find new interesting people, destroy stereotypes and be surprised!

Honestly, this topic was given to me quite hard. Half of what I wrote had to be erased and rewritten. Anyway, it seems to me that I will edit this post in the future - the topic is extensive and I still have something to say :)
Come again - you are always welcome here
