What shoes to choose for a child for the winter. What shoes are best for children: dutiks, snow boots, membrane shoes or felt boots? Distinctive features every type of shoe.

It is quite difficult to choose shoes for your child for the winter. This is due to the huge choice that the market offers us. Materials and price range very wide. You can choose shoes cheaper, you can choose more expensive, you can buy boots well-known company without knowing about the main features of this shoe. Therefore, it is important to know exactly what you are going to buy.

Basic rules when choosing a nursery winter shoes:

  • shoes must be made from natural materials;
  • be stable and light soft surface and bending, not sliding sole;
  • waterproof and preferably water-repellent;
  • well fixed on the baby's leg;
  • 1.5 cm more (along the insole) of the child's legs;
  • without distortions, folds, rough internal seams;
  • with pull-out insole;
  • high quality and brand new!

How to choose the right size winter shoes for a child

The most important thing is to choose not only high-quality and warm shoes, but also the right size. Each manufacturer has its own size charts, but in fact, finished shoes often have dimensional errors (0.5 cm).

When choosing winter shoes, the margin for the insole should be at least 1-1.5 cm (this is the size from the tips of the fingers to the nose of the boot). If you plan to wear very thick socks, add a few mm accordingly.

Most the best option measure shoes before buying, even if you plan to buy on the Internet, do not be too lazy to stop by the store.
While trying on, push the child's foot to the toe of the shoe and insert your finger between the child's back and heel. If your toe goes in, the shoe size is correct.

The space is needed not to leave a margin as you grow, but to create a warming effect, plus while walking, the leg slips forward a little. Places should not be too much and not too little, otherwise there will be the opposite effect.
Shoes should be well fixed on the child's foot, not hang out, as shoes that are too loose lead to a feeling of tiredness and fatigue of the child due to the fact that he is trying to keep the shoes on his feet.

Leather boots with natural fur

Known to all mothers, I will briefly describe the main advantages and disadvantages:
  • warm,
  • comfortable to walk on, great fit baby feet,
  • they are not suitable for severe frosts, get wet quickly,
  • they are hot in the room.
Leatherette shoes are more resistant to moisture, but the air is also weakly passed through. The legs in them often sweat and are supercooled.

Dutik and Alaska

When mom hears the name “dutiki”, boots from the 80s immediately come to mind. It was at that time that they gained their popularity. And before the color scheme was limited silver color. There are different opinions about the quality of dutikov. Many people think that this is a great option for shoes that can be worn for active game in the snow or for skiing. In principle, these shoes should be warm.

But many believe that they are ideal only for the European winter, where slush prevails, and the air temperature does not drop below 8-10 degrees.

If we talk about domestic footwear, then it is made without intricate technologies. In appearance, they are similar to membrane shoes and snow boots. What are dutik made of:

  1. The top is made of textile.
  2. The outsole is polyurethane.
  3. Faux fur lining.

Dutik boots properties:

  • belong to the class of waterproof;
  • withstand temperature regime up to -10 degrees;
  • they are light in weight.

Before you buy these shoes, you need to familiarize yourself with all the qualities of dutiks. Indeed, in the cold there is a chance to freeze, as some reviews of mothers say. The price of dutikov starts from 300 rubles. There are options with faux fur and sheep's wool. Be careful when buying dutiks for children at 1 year old, many at this age have chubby legs and a high rise, and most dutiks do not have a lock, only Velcro.

In our country, you can buy dutiks of the company "TomAndMiki", "Kapika","Antelope", "Taltex", "Smeshariki". For Russia, they are ideal in the slush in the offseason.

snowboots

Many mothers do not know what snowboots are. They are rubber boots that are insulated in several layers. What materials are snow boots made of?

  1. Polypropylene is chosen as the top layer. This material is breathable.
  2. The reflective foil acts as the middle layer. It is she who is able to reflect heat inward.
  3. Bottom part or the sole is made of heat-resistant rubber that does not get wet.
  4. The inner lining is wool felt with a small amount of synthetics added.

It is very convenient to dry snow boots, since it is the inner part that can be pulled out. For many mothers, this is very important, because then the baby's leg will definitely not get wet. Regarding the temperature regime, it is worth saying that it has a wide range from +5 to -25 degrees. Snowboot properties:

  • rubber does not harden in the cold, so it will be warm in boots;
  • for those children who are just starting to walk, there are special versions of snow boots with a "tightening";
  • lacing allows the boots to be pulled up.

This type of footwear has one drawback - it is their weight, which reaches 800 grams. Of course, this weight is not a panacea; you can choose lighter models. Many mothers choose given type shoes, as they find it very warm and comfortable. The baby's foot will feel comfortable. If the baby sits in a stroller a lot, then it is better not to find these shoes.

Demar- the most popular company from Poland. Inside the boots are insulated with sheepskin, you can also adjust the snow boots well on the child's leg.

For the second winter, when Maksyukha was 2.5 years old, I ordered Demar snow boots classic model(widest). They carried it all winter without problems, they are very WARM and light enough, they are tightened with laces and fit any size. The legs were always warm and dry, a thin woolen sock was put on on the coldest days.

Video review of Demar winter shoes

domestic firm "Zebra" also offers snowboots. But, according to moms, these shoes start to get wet after a while.

Other popular manufacturers: Reima, Sorel, Viking,Kotofey.

Membrane shoes

The membrane acts as a heater in many types of shoes. Why is this material so good? This material is a fluoroplastic film, which is able to pass moisture only to the outside. There are a huge number of tiny holes per unit area. Only steam can pass through these holes, but drops cannot. Exist different kinds membranes, but the principle of operation of each of them will be the same. Reach better work membranes are possible if you put on tights with the addition of synthetics on your feet, you can also buy thermal socks. The membrane DOES NOT HEAT!!! It does not accumulate heat, such as down, wool or thinsulate and the like.

Properties of membrane shoes:

  • Ordinary membrane shoes are designed for temperatures up to -10 degrees.
  • If you add sheep wool to the membrane, then you can wear such shoes up to -30 degrees.

It is worth considering the rules for caring for membrane shoes: drying on a battery is prohibited, as the membrane is destroyed. Usually the top of membrane shoes is made of textiles, so they need to be treated with water-repellent agents. Many mothers note the excellent quality of shoes, but the price can be quite high.

Popular Shoes: Viking- shoes from Vietnam, "Zebra"- domestic manufacturer. "Kapika" sewn at factories in Italy, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, as well as at the largest factories in China. More manufacturers: Bagira Kids, Dei-tex, Ecco, Kuoma, Reima, Skandia, Superfit,Kotofey.

After an unsuccessful purchase of dutiks through joint purchases (it turned out we had a high rise), we bought membrane boots Kapika.

I've read reviews that some of them work, others don't. They wrote that it is impossible to change the temperature regime in them, that is, from cold to warm, the membrane begins to release moisture inside and the legs get wet. I did not notice this, maybe it was shoes with a marriage. We periodically go to the store during walks and after that at home the legs are dry. We wear on a thin sock or tights. Once were a little damp on the sides when it rained heavily in autumn.

Otherwise, I highly recommend them for late autumn, early spring And warm winter with slush. In severe frosts, the legs freeze if you do not actively move!
Membrane shoes are quite tough compared to felt boots and dutiks, you need to get used to it.

boots-boots

Modern felt boots are made on the basis of natural sheep wool. It is she who is able to retain heat, as well as evaporate moisture. What are good boots-boots?

  1. The correct form, unlike ordinary boots.
  2. Orthopedic insole.
  3. The child's leg will not freeze even in the coldest down to -30 degrees.

Felt boots are best cleaned with a brush, you can also use a damp cloth. You can dry felt boots near the battery.

Popular manufacturer from Russia "Kotofey", these felt boots are heavy. It is popular with mothers. Another well-known manufacturer comes from Finland Kuoma. Boots of this manufacturer are different high quality, durability. Best of all, they are machine washable.

Personally, I really like felt boots of the company "Kapika". The brand is young, but the shoes are of very high quality and already have many of their fans. Felt boots of this company are light and comfortable, but very small. On the leg of 12.3 cm, size 25 came up to us.

Insulated rubber boots for autumn

Decided to add a little more to the review this year. rubber boots, I didn’t buy until 3 years old, I managed with boots and sneakers, but this time I decided to buy for the period of cold autumn rains. Chose between Demar And Lemigo. In terms of shape, I initially liked Lemigo, after the video I realized that it’s better to take Demar for our climb.

  • up to a year and very young children who do not walk yet, it is better to wear warm socks with booties from overalls. Their legs are still very plump, it is rather problematic to put them in boots, legs will freeze in too loose boots.
  • for the first steps it is better to take leather boots with fur or snow boots with laces or Velcro. Definitely do not take dutik!!! The leg in them is very poorly fixed, the children begin to clubfoot and put the leg incorrectly!
  • in 1 year - 1.5 years when the children are already actively walking and exploring the world, I advise you to have felt boots or snow boots for the winter, and membrane shoes or dutiks for the off-season and slush. Choose shoes that are not only suitable in size and materials, but also on how the shoes sit on the foot, whether it is comfortable for the child. At this age, the leg must be fixed and not dangle in the boot, otherwise it will be very difficult for the child to walk.
  • at 2-3 years old take shoes based on the characteristics of your child, some children are calm, others are very mobile. For the mobile, membrane shoes are best, for the calm ones - boots with fur and snow boots, although in some reviews I read that children are freezing in them too. The warmest shoes are still felt boots, but now they are also comfortable, light and beautiful! During the off-season, at a reasonable price, you can buy dutiks.
I'll tell you a little more about the sore. Maxim's foot is growing rapidly, clubfoot in boots, legs on the street become like "jelly", and at home he runs great. Most likely, the muscles on the legs have not yet grown strong enough (since childhood, a moderately mobile sloth), everything is in order with the joints. Based on this, it is quite difficult for us to choose shoes.

I would like to add to this review.

Superfit (Austria) Patented, specially shaped soft padding that strengthens children's feet, absorbing the stress of walking. Precisely placed pads create the effect of walking barefoot, which promotes natural and proportionate development of the child's feet. When creating shoes, a high-tech Gortex membrane is used. Well suited for slush and frost down to -5-10 degrees, with more low temperatures the child must be very active in them.

Viking (Norway) The soles are durable and elastic, equipped with an arch support, they have good shock-absorbing power and resist slipping. Shoes have a good level of thermoregulation. In severe frosts are not suitable for everyone.

Scandia (Italy) High-quality, light and comfortable.Scandia shoes have certain orthopedic properties, which contribute to proper development children's feet, and also prevents the occurrence of flat feet and clubfoot. Skandia shoes are very practical. More for mud, for late autumn and wet winter

Moon Boot (Italy). Moon rovers have several features: they are not divided into right and left, the boots are absolutely identical, they do not have the usual sizes - they cover several sizes at once and adapt to a specific foot. Each boot consists of two parts - outer and inner, which are made of unique materials. The outer layer is highly resistant to cold, moisture, mechanical damage, and the inner one can adapt to the size and shape of the foot. It is impossible to slip on them on ice or wet snow, which additionally protects children from injury. Very warm and light, but not the fact that they will be comfortable for a very small child.

The article describes the main criteria for choosing the first shoes for a child, explains how to correctly measure a child's foot and choose shoes by size.

How to choose the first shoes for a child? Toddler shoe size chart

Parents treat each new achievement of their baby with awe and a sense of pride. As soon as the child leaves the exclusively horizontal plane and begins to strive upward, balancing on his weak legs, the amount of trouble for caring parents increases by at least one: to pick up the first shoes.

To much that concerns a child for the first time, I want to approach it as responsibly as possible. The choice of the first slippers undoubtedly belongs to this number.

IMPORTANT: The first pair of shoes should be seriously considered when the baby begins to balance on his feet without support. On average, a baby pleases with such successes between the ninth month and one year of age.

How to choose orthopedic children's shoes for babies up to a year?

  • The term " orthopedic shoes» is now quite common among not only young mothers, but also everywhere, where we are talking about shoes. On the subconscious, people prefer models labeled "orthopedic"
  • It is not surprising that when choosing the first sandals for your child, the thought immediately comes to mind: they must be orthopedic, as the best, high-quality, and most importantly, with which the baby is not threatened with flat feet.
  • Orthopedic in the original sense of the word means shoes made specifically for specific child on plaster casts. Such shoes are made in cases of appointment by an orthopedist in order to treat disorders in the child's musculoskeletal system
  • A wide range of shoes presented in stores, pharmacies, specialized salons shoes, as well as positioning themselves as a line of orthopedic shoes famous brands, in fact, simply cannot be
  • Most likely, we are talking about the compliance of such shoes with the requirements for the prevention of flat feet and a higher quality. It follows that when choosing the first shoes, one should pay attention not to the presence of the “orthopedic” marking, but to the following criteria:

This applies to the sole, as well as to the sidewalls and top of the shoes. Shoes should not restrict movement. In hard shoes, the load is not properly distributed, in fact, such shoes interfere with the natural work of the necessary muscles of the arch of the foot, and they weaken.

IMPORTANT: When the child steps, flexion marks at the base of the toes should be visible.

heel

A low heel (about 3 to 8 mm) promotes active work and the development of foot muscles. The raised heel prevents the crumbs from falling onto the back.

Solid back

Necessary for proper heel fixation. An insufficiently rigid heel counter may begin to fly off the leg after the time has elapsed. It is good if there is a small soft roller inside on the back to prevent the occurrence of corns.

IMPORTANT: To test the heel counter for stiffness, squeeze it with two fingers (thumb and forefinger). It shouldn't be too soft.

Non-slip sole

The kid is only learning to control the movements of his legs, which is often accompanied by falls. Don't provoke them with slippery soles shoes.

natural materials

Shoes should let air through, the leg should not “sweat”. For this, it is better to prefer products from genuine leather, thick canvas, avoid "non-breathable" synthetics. The sole, depending on the type of footwear, can be leather, rubber or other flexible material.

Soft footbed

The insole should support the arch of the foot and protect it from falling inwards.

How to determine the size of a child's shoes?

Properly sized shoes double your chances of a successful purchase. It is best to try on shoes on their future owner directly in the store. If this is not possible, you should carefully measure the leg of the crumbs at home, observing the following rules:

  1. The child should stand, not sit. In a standing position, due to the load of the entire body weight on the legs, the length of the foot will be greater
  2. Measurements are best taken in the evening. During active day baby feet naturally flow and get bigger
  3. It is better to wear socks for the baby. In order for the shoes not to be small after the child puts on socks under them, it is wiser to immediately take measurements with them
  4. Both legs must be measured. One foot may be longer than the other. In this case, the size of the shoe is determined by the leg, the length of the foot is greater than

IMPORTANT: The parameters of the foot in a stationary state and when walking are not the same. Inner dimensions shoes should be slightly larger than the size of the child's foot you received.

To determine the size of shoes:

  1. Place the baby with both feet on thick cardboard. It is desirable that the load between the legs is distributed evenly. If you can’t keep the baby in this position, take measurements of the legs one by one
  2. Carefully circle both feet with a pencil, trying to hold the pencil vertically and press it firmly against the foot
  3. Then cut out the resulting cardboard insoles. With such a blank, it is easy to choose the necessary shoes in the store by putting paper insoles inside the model you like.
    OR
  4. Measure the distance between the most long finger and heel with a ruler

5. Add 0.5-1 cm to the result for a margin. Determine your child's shoe size using the chart below.

Toddler shoe size chart

For example, the length of the foot is 9.8 cm plus a margin of 0.5 cm, so you need to choose size 17.

Toddler shoe size by age

The given values of shoe sizes, depending on age, are rather arbitrary and calculated on the basis of average data. Every child is different and the values for him may vary.

IMPORTANT: A child under the age of two grows out of shoes on average every three months.

Therefore, you should periodically check whether the shoes are tight for the child. Signs that it's time to change your shoes:

  • the appearance of blisters, scuffs or dents on the feet
  • heel shift when walking
  • lack of a distance of 1-1.5 cm between the most thumb and the toe of a shoe

How to choose the first warm winter shoes for a child?

In addition to the general requirements for winter shoes, special condition: the leg should not freeze in it. Great for boots fit skin, felt, cloth and nubuck. Special attention should pay attention to the insulation of winter boots:

  • sheepskin fur
  • membrane
  • thinsulate

The warmest option would be natural fur. The membrane is perfect for a wet winter without severe frosts, as it does not let moisture through. Thinsulate is a modern synthetic insulation that is of high quality, waterproof and can compete with fur in retaining heat during severe frosts.

IMPORTANT: Unlike summer shoes, for which a margin of 0.5 cm is usually provided, when choosing winter shoes, it is allowed to increase the margin to 1.5 cm for a warm sock.

If your baby is only 6-8 months old in winter, there is no point in buying winter boots. Postpone the purchase of shoes for the spring, when the baby begins to take the first steps. In order for the legs not to freeze in winter, it is better to purchase leather slippers with fur or knitted booties if the child wears a one-piece warm overalls.

How to choose soft knitted shoes for a baby?

In order for the child to gradually get used to the sensations of shoes on legs, there is a so-called transitional option - soft booties.
Knitted booties are worn even by newborns to warm the legs. But when the child begins to sit and crawl, especially in the cold season, get booties, if you have not already done so, it's definitely time. When choosing knitted booties, consider the following:

  1. Slippers should be knitted from natural hypoallergenic threads. Yarn should not irritate delicate skin baby. In stores you can find special threads for knitting children's things.
  2. Booties should not contain small parts(beads, fasteners, buttons, etc.), or they must be securely sewn on. Otherwise, the child can easily tear them off and swallow them.
  3. Knitted shoes should not be easily removed. Small child very mobile and will lose booties if they are poorly fixed on the leg

DIY shoes for kids

If you have basic knitting or cutting and sewing skills, give your baby the first pair of soft shoes made by yourself. This will bring pleasure to both you and your baby, as the shoes will be made individually for the size of the legs, with unique design, and most importantly with love for the baby.
Depending on your desire and abilities, you can sew leather slippers, felt shoes or choose a simple pattern for knitting booties.

Pattern of shoes (booties) for a baby with sizes

In order to get a pattern of the size you need, circle the baby's foot, cut out the paper insole and attach it to the “sole” part on the pattern, zoom in on the pattern until the insole matches the pattern. Print the pattern, cut out the details. Cut out the piece of felt, sew the pieces together and decorate the resulting booties with all your imagination.

So that the first shoes not only bring tenderness to their appearance, but were comfortable and did not interfere proper formation children's feet, you should heed the following tips:

  1. Give preference well-known manufacturers quality children's shoes
  2. Do not buy narrow, tight or oversized shoes for your child. Shoes must fit exactly.
  3. Buy shoes in stores that sell children's shoes
  4. Shoes should be flexible, with a stable heel and a wide toe
  5. Quality shoes can't be too cheap
  6. In the wardrobe of a child, it is desirable to have two pairs of shoes for the season.

Following these requirements, you can easily choose the right shoes for your child and be sure that his first steps will be taken without harm to health.

Video: How to choose the first shoes for a child. Komarovsky

An urgent need for shoes for a baby arises when he is about to take his first steps. Until this time, small legs can be dressed up in all kinds of slippers, booties and socks. This is needed not so much for the baby as for the mother. I am guided by the desire from the first days of life to instill in the crumbs good taste or simply to arouse admiration in others, modern moms dress up your kids fashionably and stylishly. But as soon as the baby grows up, the choice of shoes must be approached, observing certain rules.

When to buy your first shoes

A signal that it's time to hide the cute knitted booties in the closet and go for the first real shoes for a child, his attempts to stand up on his own will serve. This usually happens between 9 and 12 months. Sandals, boots, shoes or boots - the model depends on the time of year and the weather outside. For walking down the street, one pair of shoes is enough. But it is worth taking care of what the baby will move around the apartment in. Socks and booties can be worn by a child who is just about to stand on his feet. But for independent kids, for the first time, it is better to choose ordinary street shoes as home shoes. They will protect still fragile legs from damage.

How to choose the right shoes for your child

Visually, children's shoes should please the mother no less than her own shoes. Nevertheless, external attractiveness is far from the most important thing to pay attention to when buying the first shoes for your child. There are a number of basic parameters on which the health and safety of the child depends. Namely:

  • The sole should be thin and flexible.
  • Shoes should have a small heel (5-10 mm). It will help prevent falling backwards, which can cause serious head injuries.
  • For a good fixation of the heel, you need a hard heel counter that will save the small leg from dislocation.
  • The insole must be removable so that, if necessary, it can be replaced with an insole with arch support.
  • In no case should the toes of the shoes be narrowed. The leg must develop correctly.
  • There should be no rough seams inside the shoes, which indicate poor quality and can rub the foot.
  • You can buy shoes “for growth”, but you shouldn’t wear them ahead of time, the leg should not ride inside.

Do babies need orthopedic shoes to prevent flat feet?

The concept of "orthopedic shoes" should not be applied to healthy children at all. Such shoes are sewn to order as prescribed by a doctor and in no case for the prevention of flat feet. All babies are born with flat feet that take 12 years to develop. Very often, orthopedic shoes are called the most ordinary shoes with an arch support insole that meets all the requirements.

Mothers, as a rule, face the problem of choosing shoes for a baby after the first 6 months of his life. At first, shoes for a baby perform a rather decorative function. Therefore, children's shoes can be divided into two main types: for children who do not walk yet, and for those who have already taken their first steps. Naturally, shoes for each of the periods are somewhat different. But there are also some general requirements. The sole of the shoe must be both durable, non-smooth and elastic. A little trick: if the sole is too smooth, sliding, you can provide additional friction with the surface when walking by sticking a plaster on the surface of the sole or by inflicting a series of shallow notches on the sole with a knife or awl. Try to choose for the child, especially in the first years of his life, shoes with Velcro or without any fastening devices. As a rule, shoes equipped with a fastener buckles, lacing, buttons and even buttons are not comfortable for the baby. Velcro shoes have an undeniable advantage, so it will be easier for the baby to learn how to put on and take off shoes on their own. Pay attention to the heel of the shoe. It should be tight enough. It is better if it has additional stitching and is somewhat thicker than the rest of the shoe. This will provide enhanced leg protection and good support. The material from which the shoes are made is important. Give preference to natural materials.

Shoe characteristics

For babies 912 months

Shoes for those who are not yet walking these are shoes for children up to 912 months, whose feet are not yet “ready” for walking. Shoes for such a baby should be made of light, "breathable" material natural leather or fabric, but not synthetics or plastic. The soles must be soft and flexible, allowing you to easily feel the toes on the feet. Loose soft shoes are quite suitable for small children. General rule for shoes for children of this age the lighter and more inconspicuous the shoes, the better for the child.

High boots or boots that fix the lower leg are completely unsuitable for children who have not yet stood on their feet, as they interfere with the acquisition of independent walking skills.

from year

When choosing indoor and outdoor shoes for children taking their first steps, it is necessary, first of all, to determine right size. It should not be tight or, conversely, dangle on the leg. For walks fit shoes made of soft thick leather. In the warm and dry season, sandals are indispensable. However, light sneakers or half-sneakers will also come in handy. It is also very useful to have waterproof rubber boots in your wardrobe. You should also take care of home slippers, which should be fixed on the leg.

Fitting

Proper selection of shoes is a panacea for a number of diseases, so you should be very careful when trying on shoes.

Child's foot size is the maximum foot length in centimeters. Every time you buy new shoes, measure your baby's foot. It is best, of course, to try on shoes always in a standing position, making sure that the foot does not slip out and the material does not squeeze the foot. Ideally, the baby should walk in a new thing (if he has already learned to walk).

When trying on, pay attention to the fact that the free space between the tips of the toes and the toe of the shoes (vertically) should not be less than 0.5 cm and more than 1.5 cm! In practice, it is easiest to focus on the transverse size of the thumb of the female hand.

If your child seems to be unsteady on his feet, this is a sign that he has "outgrown" his shoes.

In any case, try to get the opinion of the baby. After all, in the end, he will have to wear a new thing.

castoffs

Good shoes in expensive children's stores may not be affordable, and therefore mothers are willing to accept used shoes from a friend with an older child, or from a nephew. The situation is not rare, but frankly harmful. Doctors strongly advise not to use used shoes. I'll explain why.

In most cases, children's shoes are designed in such a way that they take the shape of the baby's foot from the inside. If your baby wears used shoes (even if they are completely presentable appearance), then, most likely, they store the structural features of the foot of the predecessor. This will affect the baby's leg. That's why new shoes always better than the old one.

Even if you plan to give birth again soon, when buying shoes for a child, do not worry about "wear". It is better that the shoes are not inherited. And the child will wear the purchased shoes for no more than one season (maximum two), because the size of the baby's foot increases very quickly, in proportion to growth. Therefore, the "monumentality" of shoes is appropriate only when it comes to a new thing for a student.

Boots with socks

Shoes are worn not on bare feet, but on socks. Their size and quality are extremely important to ensure the comfort of the baby. It is better when the socks are made of "breathable materials" cotton or a mixture of cotton and synthetics.

Socks that are large for a child can rub, cause calluses, diaper rash, and abrasions on the skin of the feet. If they are too small size, then, just like tight shoes, may interfere normal development feet. The appearance of characteristic marks of impressions on the soft tissues of the leg is a sign that the socks are small for the child. If the shoes are worn over thick (woolen or synthetic) socks, their size should be 0.51 size larger.

Quality shoes

1. Must fit the child in size.

2. It should be easy to clean and wash, because, once on the street, little travelers inevitably head towards puddles, ditches and garbage heaps.

3. Must be put on and taken off without difficulty (fastening system on the leg Velcro). It should also be noted that the fixation mechanism should tightly fix the shoes on the foot, without squeezing soft tissues feet (some types of shoes do not have fasteners and are fixed on the foot with tight socks, which is very convenient).

4. Should please the child.

5. The heel height of children's shoes should in no case exceed 4 cm. In practice, it is best to be content with a 1.52 cm heel.

6. The sole should be light and flexible, but strong enough and dense.

7. The surface of the sole must not slip.

8. The seams of shoes should be located in such a way that they do not cause friction and do not injure the skin of the child.

9. The toes of shoes should be sufficiently loose and should not press on the toenails, as this may contribute to the formation of an "ingrown" nail.

When choosing shoes, be careful. The best thing to do would be to take your baby to the store to try on. The issue of convenience can be decisive, the agility in the game above the ground does not depend on the fashionable design.

Comfortable shoes

Choosing a comfortable and practical shoes, you need to remember that:

  • feet breathe only in shoes made of well-ventilated material leather or fabric. And in plastic they literally suffocate;
  • soles should be soft and flexible ( hard soles interfere with the natural movement of the foot).
  • soles made of rubber or composite material, especially those with grooves, are more reliable than leather ones;
  • high, tight-fitting shoes for the child's foot interfere with ankle movements and normal blood circulation;
  • the backs of the boots should be hard, rounded at the top or trimmed with a soft strip (to avoid chafing, on back seam there should be no irregularities);
  • only shoes with a wide round toe allow the toes to move freely;
  • in sneakers with rubber inserts, the feet sweat a lot;
  • the upper part of the shoes should not be completely open, and the heel should not slip when walking, otherwise the baby may slip out of them;
  • to check the width, pinch the boot at its widest point. If you managed to squeeze a small fragment between your fingers, the width is suitable. If you have pinched most of the the boot is too wide, if, on the contrary, you have not been able to pinch at all it is too narrow;
  • to check the length, the toe of the boot is compressed between the end of the sole and the thumb your thumb.

    Attention!

    If in a standing position the thumb touches the toe of the boot, then this means that your child's foot has grown and it's time to go to the shoe store again.
