How to make a full face look thinner with makeup: tips from makeup artists. Makeup for a full face: rules of application and advice from makeup artists

I don’t know, have you noticed that makeup looks best on young, well-proportioned faces with a clearly defined and visible bone structure? As if - it was good, and it became good. You can draw anything on such faces and it will make sense (and if it doesn’t, it’s easy to invent it). These people sell us makeup products from advertising pictures. For everyone else, only one rule absolutely applies to makeup. Less is more, less means more. This is for plus size faces too.

Of course, here we immediately need to make about a hundred reservations - which depends on the specific character, on the situation, on the task... And in general - who will forbid us. Full faces, indeed, can be completely different, just like any other. There are full faces with a well-defined bone structure, with cheekbones and a clear oval, there are round and soft ones like buns, there are blurry ones, there are like tight fists, there are with plump lips, eat with your fingers pressed. There are young and mature, after all. No matter how lucky someone is or how life turns out, you want to look good in any case.

Therefore, now we will not even talk about beauty, but about how to competently manage the existing texture. And for this there are general recommendations and of a practical nature, observing which you can look adequate in any situation.

So - my 10 makeup rules for full face:

  1. It's good to highlight the eyes
  2. Shades instead of lines
  3. Complex color transitions
  4. Colored mascara
  5. Clear eyebrow lines
  6. Powder instead of tone
  7. Don't outline
  8. Lipstick, but not nude
  9. Emphasize what is beautiful

I use a photo from my LJ project “before and after” for illustration. I asked the models to come in their normal makeup to final photos it was clear exactly how proper makeup works.

On the left is the model's usual makeup, on the right is my version of makeup. I changed the line of the eyebrows, used multi-layered colored shadows and colored mascara for the eyes, delicately worked on the cheeks, and applied tint to the lips, softening the contour.

It's good to highlight the eyes

The eyes are the most important thing on the face and they need to be highlighted in any case; any makeup story is built around the eyes. But the larger the total area of the face, the more dramatic this rule is.

There are two ways to bring the eyes to the fore. First, deal directly with the eyes. Use eye shadow, pencils, and definitely mascara.

Secondly, we can remove light accents from minor elements in our picture. The forehead, cheeks, and brow area take up a lot of space and therefore absorb a lot of light, and what is well lit is clearly visible. And what is clearly visible comes to the fore, which we don’t want at all with the cheeks. Therefore, you can, as it were, take these parts of the face into shadow with the help of matte textures and neutral beige shades.

Shades instead of lines

I believe that winged eyeliner and clear eyeliner do not work on full faces. Clearly outlined eyes look like raisins pressed into a bun, it's not sexy. The arrows, as I mean, are a very theatrical element, so pompous. On an impressive texture, their effect doubles; the picture looks deliberate. If you are not an opera singer or an old-school production director, don't use the arrow.

It is better to do smooth shading - wide, smooth transitions work to visually enlarge the eyes and give the appearance softness. In addition, it is a hundred times faster than drawing arrows (in general, in my opinion, they are now seriously drawn only on Instagram and in makeup courses, it’s so not about life). Shading is very easy to do if you have .

Complex color transitions

Sounds complicated, but it's simple to do. Just use two colors instead of one each time. Several colors mixed together look more natural than the same colors alone. Whether it’s shades of the already natural beige or shades of bright purple, or purple and turquoise, it doesn’t matter.

A complex picture is always perceived more natural than monochrome. Because everything in life is complex; we seem to subconsciously expect this complexity and accept it easily.

For a full face, it is very important to balance within the framework of naturalness, because any excess on large forms turns beautiful ideas into grotesque. A different colors It’s really cool to use, it just allows you to convincingly “pull” your eyes to the fore.

Colored mascara

I am probably the biggest fan of colored mascara in the world :) Where there are a lot of restrictions, in all these stories about less is more, colored mascara appears. Like an elegant way to sail past all the underwater reefs.

Firstly, colored ink adds complexity to the picture, complexity is perceived naturally, and what is natural is good.

Secondly, colored mascara adds brightness, the bright rushes forward. Black mascara definitely works great too. But color is an ironic island of safety in the middle minefield no restrictions, this is a fan. Always doing something neutral is boring, like sitting on water and oatmeal forever. But life, after all, is a game!

Clear eyebrow lines

Eyebrows in this story with a full face play a secondary role, or even a fourth, but the character must be well written in the script, he is there for a reason. Eyebrows should bring our picture together into one whole.

It is better to balance rounded facial lines and soft shading with straight eyebrow lines. There is no need for a strong tilt towards the bridge of the nose; the lines should be clear but smooth.

But the main thing is that you don’t need to place all the emphasis on your eyebrows. It is better to highlight them with shadows or a pencil very lightly. Eyebrows that are too strong will stupidly turn you into an angry bird, such a red one...

Powder instead of tone

It's not really a dilemma, just advice. Almost always people with overweight prone to high humidity skin, i.e. when moisture can “sweat” the tone layer, so that a regular foundation may feel uncomfortable. If this is your case, you can use powder without tone. Powder, applied and blended, provides coverage that minimizes perspiration. But be sure to blend well to avoid the dreaded powdered face effect.

Matte textures and neutral shades

For a full face, textures are, of course, only matte. And not even out of fear that you will look like a shiny pancake. It’s just that all sorts of glosses and highlighters are visual redundancy, which, again, does not always work well on big faces V real life . It's safer to avoid shiny textures.

The blush shades are neutral. Blush here is needed not to refresh, but to remove light accents (see point one). There are, for example, normal matte blushes like MAC Baby Don’t Go or Tenderling, they can be used as base shadows too. But on a full face, you can even do without blush altogether, especially if you work well with your eyes.

Shadows can be shiny, provided that the base is still matte. If there is one color of shadows, then only matte ones. Okay, blush with a slight shine is also possible if you really want it, you are young and your cheekbones are well sculpted.

Don't outline

No matter how tempting the idea of drawing sunken cheeks may be, the contour must be abandoned. If you work with the foreground correctly, all these contouring manipulations sewn with white thread are not needed.

“Darkening” on the face, which was discussed in point one, can only be done with powder a couple of shades darker than the main one or with a maximum of beige blush. With very light movements, walk along the contour of the face, along the top of the forehead, you can lightly wave it along the tip of the nose, that’s all. Remember that all techniques for correcting the shape of the face, tied to shadows, work ideally only in ideally exposed light, which is not found anywhere in life.

In general, the most reasonable and life-compatible way is always not to draw on the face what is not there, but to redistribute the semantic load of those components that are. This is what we do all the time, in fact.

Lipstick, but not nude

I don’t recommend painting lips on a full face brightly; you can again get that “candied fruit effect”, as if a piece of papaya was pressed into a cupcake (all associations with something food, this is additionally suggestive :)). In addition, the large lady herself looks overwhelming, and with bright lips risks even becoming sinister. Especially fuchsia and cold pinks are dangerous.

For lips, it is better to choose rich, but not dense coatings, or translucent tints, or lipsticks marked sheer. In a hundred cases out of a hundred, mother-of-pearl will look cheap on a full face, and wet vinyl glitter will look carnivorous. It is better to soften the contour, i.e. a pencil is either not needed, or it needs to be shaded well after application; it is also better to immediately rub the lipstick along the contour lightly with a fingertip or a cotton swab.

A full face, as a rule, has two main features, which many are not averse to getting rid of: plump cheeks and a double chin. Both can be adjusted without resorting to help plastic surgeon. We tell and show how to do this.

How to sculpt a full face? Step-by-step photo instructions

Sculptor and blush - two the most important means, If we're talking about about full face correction. After all, it is the correct placement of light and shadow accents that ensures a spectacular result.

Dark Sculptor

During correction, special attention must be paid to the cheeks in order to properly darken them. This can be done according to one of two schemes: either apply sculptor or bronzer in the usual way, on top of foundation, or darken the desired areas on clean skin, and apply on top Foundation. In this case, the correction will not look so obvious. We remind you that a dark sculpting product should be one or two shades darker than your skin (and always with a matte finish!), and a light one, on the contrary, should be one or two shades lighter: in this case, a delicate glow is allowed.

The darkening zones in your case are the cheekbones: draw in your cheeks as much as possible and darken the area above the formed depression. Also darken the sides of the face, apply the sculptor along the edges of the forehead, along the hairline.

In addition, it is important to emphasize the jaw line: draw a stripe along it with a dark corrector and blend it downwards. This will also help remove a double chin and make your neck thinner.

By the way, correction of a double chin looks more natural if the corrector is grayish-greenish-brown, the color of the skin shadow. Then you can really create a believable effect of a slimmer chin and neck.

The shading under the chin should be as soft as possible, “fluffy”, without clear boundaries.

You can also further contour your nose by applying a dark concealer on both sides. A chiselled nose will make your face appear more sculpted and less rounded.

Another trick that will help hide the roundness of your face involves blush. Apply peach or soft pink blush (these shades suit everyone, but you shouldn’t use too bright ones on a full face) with a fluffy natural bristle brush along the cheekbone, slightly above the dark concealer. Blend thoroughly in a downward direction.

Don't wear blush in a circular motion: This action puts even more emphasis on the feature you want to hide. Also, don't apply blush too close to your nose to make your face look even rounder.

Highlighter

If you have a fuller face, try not to use too much highlighter. Apply a small amount to the bridge of the nose, "tick" above upper lip, sub-eyebrow space, in the inner corner of the eyes. Apply a very small amount of product to the top of your cheekbones (this action, by the way, is not at all necessary). The highlighter should have a very delicate glow, without glitter. Most often, these are produced in liquid or cream format.

Advice! All lines in makeup should be upward: when correcting cheekbones, shading shadows, blush. In this case, the face looks more toned and slender.

At the final stage, apply a light matte or satin bronzer over the entire oval of the face: the top and sides of the forehead, cheeks, and lower jaw line. This will give light effect tanning and will also help to visually make the face smaller and thinner.

To ensure that the results of your correction last until the end of the day, that an unpleasant oily sheen does not appear on your face and that the makeup does not “float,” be sure to powder your face. If you have very oily skin and powder is not enough, use a mattifying base for makeup.

What else can you do to prevent your face from looking full?

Focus on the eyes

The easiest way to distract attention from the oval of the face is to draw it to the eyes. Classic smokey eyes, bright arrows, lush eyelashes- all means are good! Especially suitable for you, which will help make your eyes brighter and more voluminous. By the way, if you use black eyeliner, try to draw not clear lines, but slightly blurred and shaded ones. This simple trick can make your eyes look even bigger. Well, don’t forget to hide dark circles under your eyes, if there are any, with a concealer.

Give the right shape to your eyebrows

Well-groomed eyebrows correct form will make your face slimmer. As a rule, a full face has round shape, and “angular” eyebrows with a high bend are ideal for this. Your option is the “golden mean”: eyebrows should not be too rounded or too sharp. The bend should be moderate. By the way, the further the highest point of the eyebrow is located from the nose, the wider the face will ultimately look. And one more tip: make sure that the “tips” of your eyebrows are long enough, as short ones will visually make your cheeks appear even larger. to help you!

Darken your eyebrows

The second tip regarding eyebrows is that they should be quite noticeable. You shouldn’t pluck your eyebrows too much: thin eyebrows don’t suit anyone, but in your case they will also aggravate the problem. Use an eyebrow pencil or shadow to make them a little brighter and more accentuated.

Don't forget about lip makeup

If you have thin lips, you need to visually make them plumper to make your face look thinner. Line only the lower lip with a pencil, slightly protruding beyond the natural contour, and then paint your lips with glossy nude lipstick. And don't forget to add a drop of glitter right in the center lower lip. Find other tips to help make your lips look voluminous.

Advice! If the corners of your lips look down, you can further stretch them with a light concealer. Using a brush, draw a line from the corner of your lips towards your cheekbone and blend.

Choose the right hairstyle

Girls with a full face should avoid voluminous hairstyles and curl your curls - they will make your face visually even wider and “bigger”. But if you straighten your hair with a special straightening iron, your face will look a little narrower and thinner.

How much have you seen thin women with perfectly preserved facial skin at 40-50 years old?

An absolute advantage overweight women over thin people can be called the fact that their skin ages more slowly.

This is true. It's very easy to look amazing every day, you just need to know characteristics that distinguish makeup for plus size women from any other.

Almost all overweight women have enlarged faces, so it is important to find harmony in makeup and emphasize only their advantages.

Beautiful colour Skin is the basis of any makeup, so take proper time to care for it. For full face make-up during the day suitable for women light cream base or combination nourishing cream And light powder textures.

For evening makeup You will need high-quality foundation and powder. It is recommended to use powder, since it easily removes excess greasy shine skin, while foundations with a thick and heavy texture for the skin provoke the appearance of beads of sweat on the face.

Eye makeup - smooth lines

First of all, overweight women need to avoid pronounced lines in eye makeup. It is worth giving up black arrows and bold eyeliner with a dark colored pencil. The look should be soft and expressive, for which you can use three-color shadows and black mascara with a curling effect. For daytime eye makeup for plump women, eyeshadows in light shades are suitable: beige, pearlescent, blue, green, light gray. For special occasions can be done smoky makeup eye: there are no clear lines, shadows of various colors are well retouched.

Not all overweight women can boast big eyes. Since the main goal of makeup is to bring facial features into harmony, it is worth enlarging them a little. This is easy to do: the outer edge of the eye from above and below can be outlined with a pencil or dark shadows on fat based, and then lightly shade. If you make a slight transition from light to dark shades of eyeshadow from the inner edge of the eye to the outer edge, this will also contribute to their visual increase. To complete the makeup for plump women, you can add subtle dots with a white pencil on the inner corner of the eyes.

Paying attention to eyebrows

Not suitable for women with a large figure thin eyebrows, which not only look unnatural, but can also nullify all your makeup efforts.

Since many overweight women have a round face shape, with plump cheeks, it is highly not recommended to make the shape of the eyebrows round, following the contour of the face. It is best to shape your eyebrows with a slight curve and make them of medium thickness. Be sure to take care of your eyebrows, pluck them extra hairs, keep them expressive and neat.

The color of the eyebrows is dictated by the color of the hair: they should be the same color or a little darker. It would be a mistake to highlight them brightly with a black pencil.

Blush for plus size women is a must!

There is an opinion that overweight women should not use blush, because... in any case, the image of a red-cheeked and vulgar lady will be created. This is a huge misconception! Proper makeup for obese women aims to correct facial features.

Almost everyone has large, plump cheeks that need to be enhanced with blush.

The main thing is to avoid pink blush and any other colors that have a reddish tint. IN currently Blush is available from light beige and soft pink to golden brown. Overweight women with large faces should pay attention to soft shades Brown.

It is best to apply blush to the face with a thick brush with natural bristles: the closer to the temples, the darker the color of the blush should be; the closer to the center of the face, the more transparent it should be.
Blush can and should be used to highlight the cheekbones of the face, and if they are practically no substitute, then carefully “touch up” them.

Lips are the dignity of plump women

Most plump women have beautifully shaped lips. In makeup, you definitely need to highlight them and make them more seductive. It is recommended to use light shades of lipstick, as well as colors of medium intensity: pink, coral, lilac, chestnut, etc. Plus-size women look incredibly flattered by pearlescent “shimmer” on their lips. It is undesirable to use an excessively greasy lip gloss; you should also forget about all dark and aggressive lipstick colors.

It is very easy to highlight the beauty of obese women with makeup; you just need to take care of the harmonious highlighting of each facial feature. Avoid dark color palette in makeup, pink shades blush, clear lines and excessive shine, keep the amount of cosmetics applied in moderation, and you will always be on top!

Makeup for obese women must follow several rules:

Creating competent makeup for a full face, emphasizing advantages and hiding flaws, is not so difficult if you follow simple rules. First you need to prepare your face for makeup: cleanse the skin and apply a light moisturizer. Then we proceed to corrective makeup.

It is necessary to outline the central part of the face. This can be done with a foundation that is slightly darker than your skin, apply it to the cheekbones and neck. Light tone Cover the face completely in one layer to hide skin defects. It may be worth using mattifying powder, since women with full faces Often there is excessive oily skin, which gives rise to an unpleasant oily sheen. A light corrector can be applied to the area under the eyes and nasolabial folds. reflective effect– it will hide slight skin imperfections and dark circles under the eyes, and the nose will look more elegant. In addition, your skin will glow and you will look younger.

For those with a full face, the main focus should be on eye makeup. In this case, you need to be careful when using too bright and saturated dark colors. It is worth giving up heavy eyeliner and arrows made with a black pencil. Makeup should be soft, shaded, with smooth transition several shades into each other. It looks natural to see a smooth transition from light shade inner corners eyes to the dark tone of the outer ones.

Eyebrows are of great importance in makeup for obese women.

The main thing is to take into account their natural shape, from which you should build on in the future. You can make your eyebrows slightly shortened, upward with a slight curve, and of medium thickness. The fixing gel will lift the hairs upward, which will make the face look younger. If you leave your eyebrows thick, but make them thinner at the edges, your cheeks will be visually smaller and your eyes will be more expressive.

Many women with full face have beautiful shape and drawing. In makeup, you should definitely emphasize this with rich colors. natural shades– pink, coral, chestnut. Shades with light pearlescent look good, but dark colors and it is better not to use greasy glitter. There is no need to try to increase volume; lips should look as natural as possible. The central part of the lips can be painted bright

Problem excess weight makes itself felt not only in the summer on the beach. Every day, looking in the mirror, you have to sadly observe double chin, shaved and blurred contours. Fortunately, all this can be disguised if you master makeup for a full face with all its nuances.

Peculiarities

For fat girls make-up artists offer make-up, the main task which is to lengthen the face, make it visually thinner. To solve this, techniques such as contouring (to make the outlines clearer) and vertical shading are used.

Tone and relief

  1. Without foundation, which models contours and visually stretches them, makeup is impossible.
  2. A light foundation (primer) highlights the oval, a darker one - everything else (don’t forget about the neck and décolleté).
  3. Concealers should be matte and dense in texture.
  4. It is very important to highlight the eyes, so be sure to mask dark circles underneath with concealer.
  5. The powder is compact and not shiny.
  6. Apply blush with a soft brush, moving from top to bottom. Ideal shades- beige, bronze.

Eyes and eyebrows

  1. Give preference to lengthening mascara.
  2. Limit pearlescent shadows.
  3. Carefully shade all shade transitions.
  4. The inner corners need to be lightened, the outer corners need to be darkened.
  5. All lines should be directed upwards.
  6. It is better to shade the ends.
  7. Eyebrows should not be too thin or too wide. The bend is moderate.

Lips

  1. There is no need to add extra volume to your lips.
  2. Lip contouring is also excluded.
  3. Young girls can use unobtrusive glitter.
  4. After 35 it is better to give preference matte lipstick- coral or pink.

If you have a full face, don't worry. Usually girls with such a defect have very beautiful eyes, smooth, clean skin and no wrinkles. Try to highlight your strengths and disguise your faded features as much as possible with skillful make-up.

  4. Choose the color of the eyeliner to match the shadows: it should be a little richer.
  5. Raise the arrows up so that horizontal lines do not make the face even fuller.
  6. For daytime make-up, use blue or green mascara. For festive, evening wear - black or brown.
  7. To make your lips more prominent, take lipstick or gloss with shimmer. The recommended shade is bright cherry or coral.

  2. For blue eyes you need to use the easiest techniques. Multilayering is excluded. So the shadows can be applied in 1-2 layers, but no more.
  3. It's the same with mascara. Don't overdo it: 1 application will be enough. Recommended colors - gray, brown (for daytime), black (for evening).
  4. Lipstick and lip gloss can be in a pink tone, but taking into account age. After 35 it is better to use cream or burgundy. The main thing is without moisture and volume.
  5. Makeup artists suggest using these same color solutions for gray-eyed girls.

For brown-eyed people

  1. Makeup for a full face with brown eyes begin with correct selection. Choose beige or apricot shades - they visually lengthen your features.
  2. To add definition to your cheekbones, apply a lilac-pink blush on them. Move the terracotta ones away - they will make them flat.
  3. The shadow palette should open your eyes. The colors in your palette are blue, purple, bronze, gold, chestnut, beige, honey, pink.
  4. The liner can be blue, golden, purple, chestnut, black - to match the color of the shadows. It is better to twist the arrows up.
  5. For eyelashes you will need lengthening mascara in black, blue, brown or purple.
  6. The eyebrow shape must be correct. Avoid straight horizontal lines and too pronounced flirty curves.
