We are used to giving cards for every memorable occasion, be it an official (Easter, Christmas, New Year) or unofficial (Wedding Day, birth of a child, anniversary) celebration. People are pleased to receive such nice signs of attention, because they speak of respect and sincere feelings donor.

But, as you know, the things that bring the most joy are those made with one’s own hands. It is not at all necessary to have special skills to make DIY New Year's card. The main thing is to show persistence and a little imagination.

We invite you to give your loved ones a piece of warmth during the New Year holidays. Pay attention to the selection of interesting and original ideas, and perhaps you will take note of some of them.

Postcards with Christmas trees

The main attribute of the New Year, as you know, is the Christmas tree. It can be a lush, graceful forest beauty or a small tree decorated bright toys. It doesn’t matter at all what kind of tree you choose for the holiday - the main thing is that it is there.

It just so happens, but Christmas trees on postcards are especially popular. Let's figure out how to make such beauty with your own hands.

Christmas tree made of corrugated paper

This card will be voluminous, so if you want to write a message inside to a loved one, we advise you to do this in advance.

To make this card you will need:

  • Thick A4 paper or colored cardboard, preferably red or orange;
  • A few centimeters of corrugated green paper;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue or double-sided tape;
  • Decorations (sequins, rhinestones, beads);
  • Pencil.

Step 1. First of all, you need to make a rough sketch of our Christmas tree. To start, take some cardboard and fold it in half. This standard size postcards, which allows you to make them almost the same as in the store. On one of the halves you should draw the silhouette of a Christmas tree with thin, barely noticeable lines.

Step 2. Take corrugated paper and cut it into strips one and a half centimeters high. The length of the stripes depends on how much volume you want to give New Year's tree. Don't forget that they should all be of different lengths to follow the outline of the tree, so try to do them near the stripes different lengths: from longest to shortest.

Step 3. After that, start gluing the strips into place. It is best to start from the bottom, gradually securing each layer. You should be guided by the markings made in pencil and glue the strips, gathering them a little, as shown in the photo. If you do everything correctly, the Christmas tree will look very realistic in appearance.

Step 4. Having finished the main work, decorate your beauty. Any decorations you find can be used. It’s great if you have a small star in stock - you can attach it to the top. Small beads can be used to make a garland, and rhinestones can be used to make sparkling lights. Think ahead good words wishes addressed to the recipient, and then the craft will bring even more joy.

Christmas tree in scrapbooking style

This option also involves writing or printing your wishes in advance. Think about the words that you would like to say to a loved one, design them in an original way and paste them into the middle of the card.

To make a postcard in scrapbooking style you will need:

  • Thick colored cardboard (you can take it with an ornament);
  • Stationery scissors;
  • Double-sided tape or PVA glue;
  • Various items for decoration;
  • Scrap paper;
  • Objects that would look like a pencil or a small diameter tube.

Step 1. The scrapbooking technique is actually quite easy and even a child can do it. First, you must decide on the size of the future tree. Most a good option there will be a tree located across the entire size of our postcard. Once you decide on the size, take your scrapbooking paper and cut it into small rectangles of varying widths.

Step 2. Now you should roll the paper into a cylinder. To make it without dents, use a straw or a pencil. Roll the paper in the width direction, periodically coating the inside with glue to prevent the cylinders from unfolding. Having screwed up a sufficient amount paper straws, glue them to each other, assembling the structure of a Christmas tree or triangle.

Step 3. While our craft is drying, we should work on the base. Fold the cardboard in half, glue the wishes inside, and sign below. After the Christmas tree made from tubes has dried, it needs to be glued to outside cardboard Carefully coat the surface with glue and attach the craft. Let dry.

Step 4. The next step is decoration. Any interesting thing can turn out to be: bright buttons, ribbons, rivets, rhinestones, beads, etc. It is advisable to glue each decorative element with a glue gun - this will allow them to last longer.

Postcards with Santa Claus

The theme of Christmas cards doesn't stop at Christmas trees. You can create anything, the main thing is that your crafts have something to do with the New Year. A great addition to a gift would be a postcard with a picture of Father Frost or Santa Claus.

Postcard “Santa Claus”

To make a postcard “Santa Claus” You will need:

  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Colour pencils;
  • Colored cardboard and paper;
  • Elements for decor.

Step 1. For this craft, you need to find the good-natured face of Santa Claus, print and cut it out. People who know how to draw beautifully will create the face of Santa Claus themselves. Paint some parts of the face (cheeks, eyes, hat).

Step 2. Fold the cardboard in half and glue Grandpa's face to the outside of one half. The edges of the card can be decorated with all sorts of decorative details (circles of paper, small snowflakes, sparkles). Be sure to leave your wishes inside to surprise and touch the recipient.

“Jolly Santa”

This one looks just like Santa Claus, so it's sure to make the recipient smile. In such a card you can put not only wishes, but also small present, because it will be made in the form of a pocket. Stock up on everything necessary materials, and feel free to get to work.

To make a “Jolly Santa” postcard You will need:

  • Scissors;
  • A sheet of thick paper in several colors (black, red, white);
  • Glue;
  • Shiny self-adhesive paper.

Step 1. Take thick red paper and fold its edges to form a pocket on one side. How to do this can be seen in the photo.

Step 2. Glue the edges of the pocket with glue.

Step 3. Attach a black strip along it, as shown in the picture, and use self-adhesive to make a silver square. All that remains is to attach the white curly stripes and the card is ready.

Inside this craft you can put a small souvenir or an envelope with money. It turns out to be a cute and practical card.

And finally, I would like to show how you can make an interesting and unusual New Year’s card in just a few minutes.

To make an unusual postcardYou will need:

  • Cardboard;
  • Colored paper;
  • Thin felt (blue and white);
  • Beads for decoration;
  • Bright ribbon;
  • Scissors;
  • PVA glue and glue gun.

Step 1. Fold a piece of cardboard in half however you like. Glue blue felt to the front side, then make a circle of small diameter in the right corner. Can be glued inside colorful paper to make the card look more festive.

Step 2. Along the edges of the round hole, “plant” beads using a glue gun (seen in the photo), and then from white felt cut out a small Christmas tree, which will also need to be glued to the card with beads.

Step 3. Now make a strip of fabric from the remaining white felt - write or embroider the inscription “Happy New Year” on it. And glue it to the front side. Decorate with beads.

Step 4. The final touch is a ribbon with a small bow. Attach it from the “ball” up so that it looks like New Year's toy. The postcard is ready!

Have you prepared everything? Do you want to try making cards for your loved ones with your own hands? Then for you - next master class for making a beautiful New Year's card!

The next instruction was prepared for us by Svetlana Gordienko, a handmade designer. Of all kinds of handmade hobbies, she gives preference to scrapbooking (i.e. creating photo albums and memorable notebooks) and cardmaking (creating postcards). Svetlana will tell us how to make such a New Year's card with your own hands.

For the postcard we need:

  • cardboard (I usually use paper for watercolors or pastels);
  • scrap paper (or, if the farm does not have one, colored paper or packaging for gifts, any with suitable patterns). I've been waiting for my time for a long time funny paper in Christmas trees;
  • green ornamental felt;
  • lace;
  • halves of beads (you can use beads, buttons);
  • a piece of beautiful thread;
  • cutting mat;
  • ruler;
  • scissors;
  • breadboard knife;
  • glue stick;
  • PVA glue;
  • needle.

First, let's prepare a form for the base of the postcard. My card will be 10*15 cm, so I cut out the base from cardboard measuring 20x15 cm.

On the form we mark the middle - for the bend and with the blunt end of the scissors we draw a line, not forgetting about the ruler. This is how we do creasing at home (applying fold lines) and fold the base of the card in half.

The result is an even and neat fold.

We outline the silhouette of the Christmas tree on felt (you can use a template, or you can draw it by hand - whatever you like). Carefully cut out the Christmas tree.

The edges of the felt do not fray, so no further retouching is required. Instead of felt, you can use any paper (plain or with effects, for example, velvet) or fleece, which also hardly crumbles.

We will return to further decoration of the Christmas tree a little later.

We cut out a similar Christmas tree from cardboard, but cut off 1-2 mm along the edge. Glue it with reverse side felt Christmas tree so that this cardboard is not visible from the front. This will make the Christmas tree denser and more voluminous (if you took thick felt, then you don’t have to do this manipulation; the Christmas tree will turn out voluminous anyway)

We take a small piece of white paper (I again use watercolor with a “linen” effect) and apply, for example, “Happy New Year.” I did this using a stamp, but in general the inscription can be printed on a printer, written by hand, or cut out from somewhere. I stamp it on paper and tint the edges with the same ink.

We measure the lace according to the width of the background.

We sew a line around the perimeter of the background paper, bring the threads to the wrong side, tie a knot, and trim off the excess ends.

Machine stitching, firstly, performs a decorative function, and secondly, it secures the lace at the edges.

We carefully glue the prepared Christmas tree onto the background using double-sided tape (double-sided tape is glued instantly, so there is no chance of moving the tree a little straighter or more good place we won't have it).

We also glue the inscription onto the bulk tape.

Next, we glue the prepared background with a Christmas tree and an inscription onto the base of the postcard. You can glue it with double-sided tape, with universal glue, even with Moment Crystal. I usually glue the card I made onto the base before gluing the small embellishments onto it. Therefore, when you press the glued paper, there is no fear that you will move or peel off small beads, flowers, etc.

All that remains is to decorate the Christmas tree. Pour a small amount of PVA glue onto a convenient surface.

Using the sharp end of a manicure stick, apply a small drop of glue to the Christmas tree where we will glue the bead. If the Christmas tree were made of paper, then the drop would be very small, but felt, like any other textile, absorbs liquids very well, so here the drop will be large.

Glue the halves of the beads onto this drop. In general, instead of halves, you can use beads, buttons or brads (decorated clips).

Small (1 mm) excess glue may form around the glued beads; later they will be absorbed, dry and will not be noticeable. But larger excesses need to be removed (with the same manicure stick).

The Christmas tree is ready!

Just like our postcard!”

New Year's card "Christmas tree"

It's time to prepare for the New Year, come up with gifts and prepare cards for family and friends. Today's card with a Christmas tree is incredibly cute, warm, bright, handmade - who will get it?

Making such a New Year's card will take up to 30 minutes.

To make a postcard, we will need:

  • double-sided bright cardboard of “New Year’s” color;
  • white cardboard;
  • bright ribbon, rope or raffia (natural floral material);
  • beads;
  • awl or needle;
  • scissors;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • hole punch with the shape of a snowflake or star.

Step 1

We fold the rectangular cardboard in half, it will be the base of the postcard. Inside the postcard we glue a white rectangle 1 cm smaller than the postcard itself using double-sided tape. You can cut out snowflakes or stars in a rectangle using a hole punch - they will look very interesting and fun.

Step 2

On the outside of the postcard we outline with a pencil the contours of the future Christmas tree and the proposed holes for the ribbon. IN in this case the distance between the “floors” of the Christmas tree is 1.5 cm.

We thread the ribbon through the top holes. A little hint - at this stage you can string the beads onto the ribbon so that you don’t have to glue them to the card later.

Step 3

We continue to thread the tape through the holes, going lower. On the outer side the tape will lie horizontally, on the inner side - diagonally. Carefully glue the ends of the tape onto double-sided tape inside the card.

For this we need:

  • Colored cardboard different color(the thinnest one, it will be more convenient to bend and glue, and the ends of the folds will not be whitish)
  • Thick thick colored cardboard for the cover.
  • White paper(album sheet).
  • Sequins, sparkles and other “tinsel” for decoration.
  • Scissors, glue

We try to involve children, even small ones, to the maximum. Of course, at the age of three, a child will most likely not be able to fold a beautiful “accordion” or cut out a Christmas tree, but it’s easy to stick it on, sprinkle it on, and decorate it.

So, bend a sheet of thick cardboard in half of blue color, glue, if desired, on front side applique. We also decorate the inside with snowflakes (you can use your finger to apply white paint or toothpaste to a snowball, sky, snowdrifts, etc.). Pre-cut to width to the depth of the postcard, we fold a white A4 sheet along the long side into an accordion (ideally, it’s better to take an even longer sheet, then the postcard will open wider, or make the folds very shallow, which is also not good - the effect of “snowdrifts” is lost). We coat the ends of the accordion with PVA and glue it to the base of the card. We close our card and squeeze its sides for a few seconds. All. All that remains is to glue pre-cut Christmas trees, houses, bunnies, etc. onto the “drifts”.

This photo shows how best to hold the accordion before gluing it on. After each accordion, close the card and squeeze it for a few seconds. Please note that thin uncoated cardboard is grabbed by PVA almost instantly, and when you try to remake or move the accordion, some of its ends may “remain” on the substrate.

You can make such a lush beauty from thin green cardboard.

The principle is the same - we make several accordions out of thin green cardboard,” but there is a nuance: we cut an A4 sheet along the length into strips of different widths and the width (depth) of the fold for each strip is also different: in the diagram I tried to show how approximately The part of the sheet I have drawn looks like.

As a result, we begin to bend the widest strip, making it the deepest folds - this will be the base of the tree. If you take a closer look at our Christmas tree, you will notice that the tiers of the tree are most advanced at the bottom, while the accordion at the bottom is folded with a large “step”. Further, moving towards the top of the tree, the depth of the tier and the depth of the bend decreases. We decorate the top of the tree with a star, gluing it tightly to the backing. The Christmas tree can be “dressed up” with sparkles and sequins

Cute three-dimensional New Year cards

In order to make such a postcard, you need to make triangular blanks from colored or decorative paper, and then glue the edges together sequentially. Decorate the card with a bow and write congratulations!

Volumetric Christmas tree

In order to make such a card, you will need to print two layouts on thick paper and arm yourself with scissors. Layout one, two (files in Word). It is better if your sheets are of different colors. Next we follow the photo instructions:

We decorate the resulting Christmas tree with sparkles, painted or glued toys, you can draw them nearby snow drifts and a snowman, or gifts, and we get, for example, this cute creation:

Origami Christmas tree

With mom’s help he can make such a postcard Small child. It's better to take paper from beautiful background(for example, for scrapbooking). If the child wants to do it himself, take more thin paper thinner, since it will be difficult for him to bend a thick sheet efficiently.

We decorate with ribbons, buttons and in the end we get these cute cards:

There is another way to make absolutely stunning cards, the manufacturing technology of which can be used only for New Year's holidays, but also for any others: March 8, February 23, birthdays.

These cards will occupy the recipient's attention for a long time and will cause a lot of delight. What do you need:

  • Transparent plastic lid (from food packaging), you can use lids from sour cream or yogurt.
  • Cardboard or thick paper for the base of the card
  • Filling material: beads, seed beads, pictures, buttons, etc.

We fold the base of the card into a booklet; it should be at least 3 centimeters wider than our lid. We cut off the side of the lid with scissors, which is used for closing, leaving only the area for gluing (see photo).

In the front part of the card we cut out a round window with a diameter 2 mm larger than the diameter of the lid window. This can be done perfectly smoothly using a compass knife or just nail scissors.

We are planning thin pencil a place on the back half that will be visible through the window. Glue the lid to the hole in the front of the card.

On the second side we make our picture, and then glue both halves. Can be decorated with braid and sparkles.

And here Santa Claus and the Snowman are hurrying through the snowy snowdrifts))). The snowdrifts and cloud are cut out of felt, the characters are made from buttons and felt, the tree is a real twig, which is slightly pasted over with pieces of padding polyester, snowflakes are drawn with a helium pen. Something like this picture can be “hidden” inside a plastic lid.

We hope that we have inspired you a little to be creative and charged you with New Year's enthusiasm :) And you can learn more from our blog!

In contact with

Hello everyone, hello! Do you remember that I recently promised you that I would make a detailed article on the topic of creating New Year’s cards with your own hands?! I keep my promise and share my work.

So today I will show you how to make original postcards for the New Year 2019, which you can make together with your children. These will be both voluminous congratulations and simple applique, also origami and drawing.

Remember that such homemade ones will be a pleasure not only to give, but also to receive. And joint creativity will bring a lot of pleasure to both children and their parents.

The main elements on holiday souvenirs Snowmen, Santa Claus and little animals will perform. All winter landscapes and all subjects associated with this magical event will also be appropriate. Whatever your imagination is enough for, then depict it!

And if you're ready, then let me begin.

The most unpretentious and affordable material for making this kind of crafts is colored paper and cardboard. You can build anything you want with these tools! And most importantly, the products are made quickly and simply.

Here, for example, is an applique in the form of a Snowman. Look how bright this congratulation looks. I suggest you definitely make such a card with the kids.

"Snowman with snowflakes"

You will need:

  • thin colored cardboard (2 sheets: white and blue);
  • colored paper;
  • stamp ink: blue or gray;
  • scissors (curly and regular);
  • glue;
  • pencil, markers, ruler;
  • figured hole punch with snowflakes;
  • compass.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take white cardboard and draw on it using a compass or objects round shape 3 circles of different diameters. These are the parts for the Snowman. Cut them out.

2. Now using stamp ink draw circles to outline the outline a little.

4. Take the largest cardboard circle and coat it with glue in the center. Glue to the blue base. And glue a circle of smaller diameter on top.

5. Cut two strips from construction paper of any color and glue them on top of the second circle. This is a scarf. Glue the smallest white circle on top.

6. Use a black marker or felt-tip pen to draw eyes and hands. Cut out a carrot nose from orange paper and glue it on.

6. Take white cardboard and cut out snowflakes from it using a shaped hole punch.

7. Glue them anywhere and in any order near the Snowman. Turn the base over and write or glue a greeting. That's all!

"Christmas tree with gifts"

You will need:

  • blue, yellow, purple, gold, red and white cardboard;
  • blue and green paper;
  • multi-colored braid;
  • snowflakes;
  • toothpaste and brush;
  • comb with teeth;
  • PVA glue;
  • transparent glue;
  • regular and curly scissors.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take a piece of blue cardstock and cut it in half. Or you can fold the cardboard in half if you want to create an opening option. Using curly scissors, cut out a rectangle 110 by 150 mm from white cardboard. Glue it to the blue cardboard using PVA glue. Next, cut out a 120 by 20 mm rectangle from blue paper with curly scissors. Make an inscription on it: “Happy New Year!” and glue the rectangle to the white cardboard.

Now cut out a square with sides of 25 mm from purple cardboard, 30 mm from yellow cardboard, 40 mm from gold cardboard, and a 20 by 50 mm rectangle from red cardboard. Tie these parts with braid and glue the ends with reverse side transparent glue.

2. From green double-sided paper, cut out 3 squares with sides of 70 mm, 100 mm, 130 mm. Fold the squares like this: diagonally in half, unfold along the other diagonal as well. By unfolding the square, you will get lines along the diagonals. Fold the blanks as shown in the photo to form a triangle. Fold the top edges inward.

3. When you have folded all three squares, start gluing them with the smallest amount of PVA glue to the base. The next square needs to be glued inside the top one, and the third one - inside the second one.

4. Cut out snowflakes or make them using figured hole punch. Glue it onto the workpiece. Next apply toothpaste on the brush and using the “spray” method, running the brush over the comb, apply toothpaste to the Christmas tree and the entire product as shown in the picture. Additionally, the Christmas tree can be covered clear varnish for nails with glitter. Your craft is ready.

Now try to make a product not only from paper and cardboard, but also from beads.

"Christmas tree made of beads"

You will need:

  • Scrapbooking paper;
  • Beads of different sizes, but the same color;
  • Glue gun;
  • Cardboard;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue gun;
  • Satin or organza ribbon;
  • Pencil.

Manufacturing process:

Take cardboard and cut a rectangle out of it the right size- this is the basis of the product. Then cut out a rectangle of scrap paper slightly smaller than the cardboard base. Glue this rectangle to the base using double-sided tape. Cut out several different sized squares and rectangles from colored paper. Glue them on top of the workpiece. Now, on the base, mark with a pencil a schematic image of the Christmas tree. And cover the picture with beads, ranging from large to small in size. Next, decorate the craft with a ribbon or organza bow.

By the way, in addition to beads, you can also use buttons. Here, for example, is the “Wreath” applique. This work is great for children 2-3 years old.

And here’s what kind of volumetric beauty you can create.

Or try making a hugging Snowman with your child. Here's an idea and a template for implementation.

Also use a regular hole punch to create small colorful circles. You can then easily and simply make an applique out of them. For example, depict Christmas balls.

Or the easiest and fastest option for kids.

Don't forget about 3D postcards.

"Volume Christmas trees"

You will need:

  • colored cardboard;
  • scissors, simple and curly;
  • pencil and ruler;
  • decorations.

Manufacturing process:

1. You need to cut triangles out of white cardboard different sizes for Christmas trees. Trim the edges of the triangles with curly scissors.

2. Take cardboard blue color and fold it in half. You need to make two such blanks.

3. Make markings in one of the blanks and cut out the steps on which the Christmas trees will stand.

4. Glue the cut piece inside the whole piece. No need to glue the steps! Then glue the Christmas trees onto the steps and decorate them to your liking.

Take a look at the next option. It turns out to be real magic. There are no difficulties at all. But how the kids will love to perform such a trick.

Or here’s another idea with a voluminous congratulation. The technology of bending with an accordion is familiar to everyone, and with this approach a real masterpiece is obtained.

"Star with Balls"

You will need: cardboard, scissors, pencil, ruler, self-adhesive tape, colored paper, glue, gift paper, ribbon.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take cardboard and fold it in half.

2. Draw half a star and cut it out along the outline.

3. Then mark 7.5cm from the left edge of the base using a ruler and pencil. Do the same by turning the product over. Bend the cardboard along these marks, as shown in the photo below.

4. Now take the braid and use it to decorate the star. Cut out balls from colored paper and glue them.

5. Take another A4 sheet of cardboard of the same color and fold it in half.

6. Glue it to the inside square piece gift paper with a New Year theme.

7. Glue two parts of cardboard blanks together as follows.

8. Close the product and decorate the front part with squares. Tie a ribbon.

New Year card using scrapbooking technique. Step-by-step instructions:

Next, I prepared a product for you using the scrapbooking technique. Moreover, I chose the simplest option so that the kids could easily create their plans. Of course, if you have big kids, then choose more complex options.

  • thick colored paper or colored cardboard;
  • scrap paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • pen, felt-tip pen (or other similar item);
  • decorations.

A beautiful Christmas tree will be made from origami parts.

To make such a Christmas tree we will need three squares, measuring 5*5, 4*4, 3*3 centimeters.

Take 1 sheet of paper and fold it diagonally.

We get a triangle by folding the square twice diagonally.

Both upper edges fold the triangle inward.

We make a trunk out of brown paper, and glue a bow or star to the top; you can also use a button.

Or glue sequins in the shape of a New Year's wreath.

You can simply connect the points at the level of the branches with colored threads.

Just select a contrasting background in advance and use a needle to make holes where the threads will go.

Feel free to use wood chips, clothespins, newspapers and fabric.

Button decor is popular now.

Or, for example, try to apply an ornament in the form of a deer or a Christmas tree on the front side and carefully cut it out.

Glue a colored backing on the reverse side to create contrast.

Simple lines, several backgrounds and paper textures and unusual creative congratulations ready.

Now let's get creative and create an unusual postcard.

Be sure to glue a backing onto the base, because the design is heavy and the card may bend.

First we need 12 segments different paper or wallpaper.

We need to cut them 1 centimeter wider than the previous strip.

Before rolling into a tube, fold all the pieces in descending order to avoid confusion.

You can sign the width value on the reverse side of each workpiece.

  • White paper

We decorate with decor and a congratulatory inscription.

It is better to prepare the background paper in advance, let it be holiday flowers: red, green, blue, golden.

Even just applying three stripes of festive colors already sets the overall mood!

Handicraft stores sell velvet and embossed cardboard, which diversify the textured combination of design elements.

You can make a background by simply printing traces of a Christmas tree or pine cone on plain paper.

Simply dip the Christmas tree needles in white gouache and transfer the print to the base.

Think about napkins with monograms and ornaments.

If you are against working with glue, then purchase self-adhesive paper. It is easy to stick on and remove from the surface. Is it good for a child to exercise? fine motor skills(it will tear off the protective layer).
