DIY box drawings. Round cardboard cake box. DIY diagram of a box with a lid, master class

Actually, to be honest, the idea of creating today's educational material came to me at the moment when I realized that beautiful volumetric ones - those created using the scrapbooking technique - are simply not suitable for giving as gifts to someone who lives very far from you. It is very inconvenient to transport them to another city. And I’m generally silent about sending by mail.

Therefore, when I was faced with the question of how best and safest to deliver my postcard to the owner, I also grabbed my head and began to think about how to pack it. And almost immediately I thought about a box that would be quite dense, could be easily closed and opened, and at the same time it would take me very little time to make it. This is how the idea of creating a master class on how to make a box with a lid in 30 minutes was born.

After reading this article to the end, you will learn how to make a box according to custom sizes, suitable for your specific card, how to make a cover using a minimum of materials and how to beautifully decorate the received gift wrapping.

How to make a box with a lid - master class

In order to make such a box with a lid, we don’t need very much. Namely:

  • cardboard
  • scissors
  • watercolor paper
  • something for decoration

You don't have to use expensive designer cardboard. And although this is what I used, you can easily use regular colored cardboard purchased at an office supply store. The main thing is that it is dense enough. The optimal density for it will be 250 g/m². Standard sheet size designer cardboard is approximately 30x30 cm. We only need one sheet.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to prepare scissors, in addition to regular ones, with curly ones. But this is not important. Otherwise, everything is as usual - glue for paper, as decoration - anything, from pieces of fabric, felt, beads and lace to all kinds of purchased cuttings or, which, by the way, can also be made independently. We already have a master class on this topic.

Building a circuit

We will begin our work by constructing a diagram. Let me make a reservation right away that all the calculations below were made for a 13x18 postcard. If your postcard is the same size or slightly smaller, then you can use my calculations without any problems. If the difference is large enough, then I recommend that you still calculate the dimensions of the box specifically for your postcard, so that the finished “clothes,” so to speak, are just right for your postcard.

So let's get started. And the first thing you need to do is prepare a draft version of the diagram. Then, after refinement and verification, we transfer it to cardboard. This way we will protect ourselves from mistakes and will be able to use the material more economically.

Let me remind you that our postcard has dimensions of 13x18 cm. But the box should be a little larger so that the postcard fits freely in it. Moreover, the reserves should be both in the length/width of the box and in its height relative to the postcard. After all, scrap cards usually have very voluminous decorative elements.

0.5 cm on each side, I think, will be enough. So, we draw a rectangle with sides 14x19cm.

Next we draw the sides. The height of the sides in my case will be 2 centimeters. But consider the height of your card. Some may need higher sides. After clarifying and thinking through all the values, we will get the box diagram we need, suitable specifically for our postcard.

We will make the lid for our box one-piece. Well, or almost one-piece. A little later I will tell you in more detail why I say “almost”. The dimensions of the lid will exactly match the size of the box. And to give it (the box) greater rigidity, we will make double walls on both sides and do not forget about the allowances with which the sides will be attached to each other.

Cutting, assembling, decorating

The draft diagram (pattern) is ready and all we have to do is put it on a sheet of cardboard and trace it along the contour. I advise you not to circle with a simple pencil and certainly not with a pen. Even if you intended to do it on the back of the sheet. Better take advantage thin knitting needle and a toothpick. Well, at worst, you can't take it writing pen and translate the contours using it.

If your cardboard sheet dimensions are the same as mine (30.5 x 30.5 cm), then you will find that the pattern does not fit completely on it. But I promised you that we will do everything so as to save money and not have to start cutting another sheet. So read on.

For practical reasons, we will make the lid one-piece, as I already said, but it will consist of two parts. And we will do it beautifully and gracefully, so that no one will think that we were greedy and saved on the gift.

And in the future, you can easily use this method when making other boxes and even album covers and notebooks. And not necessarily for reasons of economy, but simply because, first of all, it is very beautiful and unusual.

After we have drawn the contours of the box onto a sheet of cardboard with a toothpick or knitting needle, we need to cut it out. Therefore, we take scissors in our hands and cut it out. We crease all the lines of future folds under the ruler.

It is worth noting here that scoring must be done very carefully. Cardboard is different from cardboard and you may well damage its top layer if you press too hard on the tool.

Don't forget about the missing part of the lid of our box. It fits perfectly on scraps of cardboard.

The template is ready. All that remains is to assemble and decorate it. We begin assembling the boxes by carefully working out the fold lines. And in order to avoid incorrect creases, we will use a ruler. By pressing it to the bend and at the same time bending the parts of the allowances and sides, we gradually assemble our beauty.

Don't forget that the side walls should be double. Therefore, we turn it inside the box top part allowances and glue everything together using PVA or any other paper glue.

Now for the piece of the lid. Cut it along the very edge (inner) curly scissors. Remember when I told you that it wouldn’t be bad to have them in your arsenal today? So this is exactly for this purpose.

We do the same with the edge of the “under-lid” of the box. We cut it and now we have what looks like two parts of the lid with curly edges. All we have to do now is connect them together. In order to do this, take a sheet of watercolor paper or any other paper of similar density. And using the same curly scissors, we will cut out a strip 20 cm long and about 2 cm wide.

And from the remaining scraps of cardboard we will additionally cut out another strip - 20x0.7 cm - also with curly scissors. Now everything is ready. Assembling the cover.

In total we have three parts for the lid. The cardboard piece we originally cut out, a wide piece of white watercolor paper, and a narrow strip of cardboard in the same color as the box.

To the wide white strip, on top of it, we glue a narrow gray strip. Closer to the edge. And then we glue the part with the missing part of the lid to it. And we get this unusual ornament.

All that remains is to put it all together. Carefully ensuring that all cuts, joints and edges fit tightly to each other, we glue the resulting part to the lid of the box. Using scissors, we cut off the excess length of the decorative edge, if any. And that’s basically it – the box is ready!

But it would be nice to decorate it nicely somehow. I didn't put any felt or lace on top. I decided that since it will be inside paper card, then the decor should be paper. Therefore, I found such a simple butterfly in my supplies and realized that it would look very good here.

Uncomplicated, but at the same time quite fresh and elegant. I also didn’t want to overload the box with decor. After all, there will be such a beautiful postcard inside!

Using a stamp and embossing powder, I completed congratulatory inscription. Then I thought that it would be nice to also slip a piece of the veil under the bow tie, but it didn’t work out. There was no veil at home, and I didn’t want to run to the store and buy unnecessary 1.5x0.2 m instead of the required 10x10 cm of material.

But I think that it seems very beautiful anyway. Sometimes you just need to force yourself to stop so you don't get overwhelmed with work. Let this be the case, I thought and calmed down.

By the way, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that inside The lid of the box is also decorated with decorative patterns. Still, it’s a great idea! All that remains is to put the card inside and solemnly present it to a dear person.

Like this. I think it's very beautiful. A neat, elegant, not pretentious box and such a wealth of decor and colors inside! Stunning contrast!

What do you think? Liked? Today we learned how to make a box with a lid with our own hands for our beautiful voluminous postcards, learned to save material for the benefit of beauty and at the same time not regret about their miserliness of frugality. We also learned to save our time, because creating such a box took us not only quite a bit of cardboard, but also time.

The decor that we learned to make today will also be quite useful when making completely different boxes made using a different technique. And also in the production of postcards, notepads and albums. I really hope that some of you really liked the idea of creating it and that you, too, will make a similar or not quite similar cardboard gift box in the near future.

Hiding a surprise or a long-awaited gift from view. Finally, the ribbons are untied and crumpled - here he is! And it’s even a little pity, because the print on the paper was beautiful, and the bow was so unusual... All this beauty also cost a lot. To festive mood preserved longer, you need to carefully think through not only the surprise, but also the packaging box for the gift.

There is no less intrigue in the temptingly rattling box than in the rustling paper parcels. And after the holiday, it will remain a pleasant reminder and perhaps serve to store the gift itself or other things. Carefully crafted packaging will show the love and attention just as much as the gift itself. Besides, various ideas original figured boxes can turn into an exciting quest.

How to make a gift box?

They say that good packing- half of the gift. As for the ready-made boxes that decorate the windows, this is the sad truth. The issue of price is especially acute before the New Year, March 8 and other national holidays. I want to please all my friends and family at once and, of course, I also want to pack them beautifully so that the souvenir does not look ordinary.

In such a situation they will help skillful hands and fantasy. You can decorate the finished box suitable size. There is one like this in every home, even if it’s not the most beautiful. In order to carefully paste it over, you will need a very thin, strong paper and precise cutting. After all, the box will not close if the edge is untidy and folded.

How to make a gift box with your own hands? The cardboard frame can be made to your own size using minimal drawing skills. And, of course, decorate as you please.

We offer a basic layout of a rectangular and square box. You can print them to the desired scale and transfer the pattern to dense base. The workpiece is folded according to dotted lines. The connections on the vertical and horizontal ribs are glued.

How can you make a gift box more original? Here you don’t have to limit yourself to a rectangular template. Traditional stern geometric shapes, packaging comes in the form of a chest, book, house, heart, Christmas tree, candy, car, various animals and so on. For small souvenirs or edible gifts you can roll up boxes from thick decorative paper, armed with origami techniques.

Here are a few interesting ideas, with which you can easily make a real masterpiece.

Bonbonniere

This is perhaps the most common type gift boxes. Translated from French, its name means candy bowl. In tall, voluminous ones they give loose sweets, like glazed nuts. The flat ones contain fragile candies with filling.

Traditionally, such bonbonnieres are given to guests at a wedding. Although, as a sign of gratitude, this gift is always appropriate. You can put anything in such a cute box. a pleasant surprise. The following diagram will show you how to make a gift box in the form of a bonbonniere.

If you bend the workpiece along the fold lines and insert the rounded parts of the heart with the slits into each other, you will not need glue. To make the ribbon look neater, it is glued not along its entire length, but in two or three places.

Another themed bonbonniere, decorated with a snowflake, consists of two parts - the bottom and the main part.

Parts of the snowflake can be immediately painted with silver paint on both sides. The workpiece is rolled along vertical ribs. One side is glued. For such a small area, it is better to use a glue stick rather than a liquid one. The hexagon bottom is glued on all sides. The top gathers into an openwork snowflake.

Origami technique

Gift boxes, folded from paper, will require accuracy and even skill. But you don’t need to bother with glue and the decor you will need is very simple. The main thing is to choose the right paper. The box will turn into a bundle if you choose too thin a material. However, the paper should bend easily, without creases. Therefore, very thick cardboard will also create difficulties in work.

This is a traditional box from the famous master Fumiaki Shingu. To work you need an even square sheet. It bends and unbends as indicated by the arrows in the figure.

To wrap a gift in it, you need to make 2 of them: a larger one for the lid, a smaller one for the base.

And for the origami box from paper strips You will need ten curly parts. Alternation of colors is at the discretion of the author. The first two are connected at both ends without glue. The rest are added one by one. During the assembly process it hides inside small souvenir or candy. An open package will crumble into a handful of colorful ribbons.

For winter holidays

Boxes for New Year's gifts usually needed in large quantities- I want to please everyone with at least a small trifle. Small souvenirs or sweets in original packaging will do festive atmosphere warmer and brighter.

A wonderful Christmas tree, for example, can be cut out using a template from several sheets of paper at once. It is important that they do not move during operation. You should not cut more than three or four at once. Each workpiece is bent in four places. Glue is applied to the figured needles.

Packaging for children's gifts

The easiest way is to surprise and delight children with beautiful boxes. Whatever the gift, the very process of taking it out of the box is a real event. Let the box be colorful and unusual, tied with ribbons that the baby will so impatiently fiddle with, and inside he will be greeted by several layers of rustling paper hiding a surprise.

Semicircular folds are drawn from the inside with the sharp end of scissors. The cardboard is slightly cut and the fold will be neat. In accordance with the idea, eyes, ears, tails and paws are glued on.

For loved ones

Gift boxes for Valentine's Day and just for special dates are usually made in the shape of a heart or decorated with a variety of decorative hearts. The color is traditionally pink or red.

Surprise for the birthday boy

A birthday gift box should be special. If you need to congratulate loved one, it’s worth spending the time and effort to create a memorable decor. This is the case when exclusive handmade work is especially valued. It is better to choose a durable box and turn it into a box or treasure chest. Decoupage and scrapbooking techniques will come in handy.

If the birthday person is a work colleague and just needs a small sign of attention, the packaging should be stylish, discreet, but with a twist. For small gift A box with a holiday theme will do.

L 1 and L 2 are the lengths of the sides, d of the cover and d of the bottom are the diameters round parts.

Box with a surprise

Little trinkets packed in beautiful boxes, made and decorated with your own hands, are sometimes valued much higher than standard bouquets and sweets. To show attention and respect, it is better to spend more time than money.

This is one of the most wonderful ideas to make a gift. The box opens on its own, you just have to lift the lid. There is some small surprise attached to the bottom: a cake, a folded banknote, decoration or decorative composition.

Several parts for the box are cut out (the internal ones are slightly smaller). The ribs are not connected by anything, only the lid is glued. Since the product will be quite fragile, the lid should be easy to remove. You should take this into account when decorating the box.

A bow or picture is glued to the top. Three-dimensional decorative elements, photographs, and cards with wishes can be attached to multi-layer walls. Even tea bags will come in handy if there is a sweet present inside. In the center you can place small decorations on springs or strips of hard plastic. Flowers, butterflies or confetti will fly up and out when the lid is lifted.

This box is called a magic box, it is a bright representative of products using the scrapbooking technique. The magic box can be themed for any holiday. The main thing in this work is attention to detail and maintaining the overall style. And, of course, a sense of proportion.

Where to hide a huge secret

A very large gift box can be a problem. If the gift is given in factory packaging, it is easier to cover it wrapping paper and pin a bow of paper ribbons. But if you want to use your imagination, you can, for example, paint such a box with spray paints and attach a plush toy to the top.

The gift can be large and heavy. If it is installed in advance in a room for a party, you can make a box without a bottom. At the moment of presenting the gift, the box solemnly rises and... there!

Oddly enough, large boxes are also made for small gifts. This is for lovers of intrigue. One box opens, and then another, and another, and another... Or maybe they fly out from under the lid colorful balls filled with helium? Or live tropical butterflies? No limit modern capabilities.

How to decorate a gift box?

For example, a finished shoebox will have to be covered inside and out to give the work a finished look. For the reverse side, you can use not only paper, but also thin fabric - silk or nylon.

How to decorate a gift box with ribbon? The decorative cord or ribbon for the bow will need approximately three to four times the perimeter of the box. Its splendor depends on the length of the free end, so it is better not to skimp on the length.

The gift does not have to be bandaged. Decorative elements can simply be glued to the sides and lid. All kinds of sparkles, stickers, lace flowers and butterflies, beautiful stamps, appliques - all this will significantly speed up the work on packaging.

A durable box can be decorated using decoupage or scrapbooking techniques to make it look like a box. There is a chance that it will serve in this capacity for a long time and will bring no less joy than the gift itself. Of course, this labor-intensive work is only for special occasions.

Packaging made of thin cardboard or paper should not be overloaded decorative elements. Sometimes two or three rhinestones or a painted shiny border are enough.

Boxes can be decorated from the inside. To do this, they are not only pasted over with colored paper or upholstered with fabric. The packaging is filled with raffia or sisal fiber. They will be replaced by thin rustling paper, laid in sheets or cut into strips. There are special fillers - long stripes made of cellulose, dyed different colors. Using such materials you can create decorative composition, placing a gift in the center. For example, green fibers and several artificial flowers will make a mini-clearing in a box. You can place a congratulatory inscription on the inside of the lid.

Materials for stylish packaging

In craft stores you can buy accessories for decoration - beads, sequins, rhinestones, fancy stickers, appliqués, braid, ribbons, flowers - everything to realize the most complex ideas.

They sell in specialized departments

  • decorative tape, eyelets, brads, all kinds of figures, chipboards, rubbing, pendants;
  • paper and drawings for decoupage;
  • pictures, figures and tags for cutting;
  • cardstock - thin and durable cardboard for gift boxes of all colors and with any print;
  • sets of backgrounds for scrapbooking.

In addition to pencils and scissors, you may need shaped staplers, stamps with colored ink, a hot-melt gun with glue, double-sided tape and plain tape.

Sometimes expensive materials can be successfully replaced with the remnants of beautiful wallpaper, labor-intensive decoupage can be hand-painted acrylic paints etc. It all depends on the desires and capabilities of the donor. The main thing is, when you get carried away with creating artistic packaging, don’t forget to put a gift inside.

Agree, the anticipation of a gift is no less pleasure than the gift itself! Ah, these sweet moments when you are trying to guess what is hidden inside an elegant box, you are impatient to untie it satin ribbons, tear off the crispy paper covers!

But gifts are pleasant not only to unwrap, but also to pack. Buy in advance pleasant little things colleagues, choose gifts for those closest to you and while away the winter evenings by decorating them and signing cards - the right way to wake Christmas mood, if it is still sleeping!

Masu box

For warm-up, we chose masu bo x - an origami box. You can even roll this up in a taxi on the way to visit: you don’t need any scissors or glue, just a couple of sheets of paper. Moreover, even those whose highest achievement in origami are paper airplanes will master the simple principle of their creation.

Notes and tips:

1. For this box, we chose thick double-sided scrapbooking paper at Leonardo (40 rubles per sheet), but this was a mistake. Firstly, reverse side The paper would still end up hidden. Secondly, the paper turned out to be too thick and therefore unsuitable for origami: it did not bend well and cracked at the folds. As a result, we had to roll it from colored paper with a density of 120 g/m2 (10 rubles per A4 sheet), although a thinner one would have worked perfectly.

2. Remember that the base must be smaller than the lid! We decided that if we cut the sheet by three or four millimeters, that would be enough, but in the end, the parts of the box still turned out to be almost the same.

3. You can decorate the box (and at the same time hide extra folds on the lid) using ribbons (a set of five satin ribbons with New Year's prints cost us about 150 rubles). Tip for perfectionists: to hide the edges, thread them through the slots in the lid (you can easily figure out where to make them) and secure from the inside with a glue stick. Be sure to loosen the tension on the bands a little so that the lid can be bent.

4. For this little experiment, I didn’t want to buy a package of filler for the boxes, so we simply cut the thin craft paper in which the bouquet was once packaged into thin strips. It turned out beautiful and environmentally friendly!

Having warmed up with origami, we decided to make a “pillow box” in which it is very convenient to put candies.

Notes and tips:

1. Before folding the box, crease along the fold lines - push them with a non-writing pen or other thin, but not sharp, object. Without this, it will be almost impossible to bend a sheet of paper along a curve. (In general, we advise you to press through all the places where future folds are made.) And another piece of advice - it’s easier not to print it out, but to draw a diagram of the box yourself. Yes, to draw a line of valves, you will have to use a handy round object, but then it can be used instead of a ruler when creasing, because this cannot be done accurately by hand.

2. The valves on one side can be pierced with a hole punch to insert the ribbon. But we don’t recommend trying to glue them together: it’s almost impossible to press the valves together for the glue to set, and besides, they already stay closed very reliably.

3. For this box we took pastel paper (16 rubles per sheet). The density of 160 g/m2 was perfect for a small box, and the velvety surface recalled the starry sky and inspired decor.

4. To decorate the box the way we did, choose the constellation you like and paint it white gel pen(it’s better to do this on a box that has not yet been rolled). To glue the stars (again favorite “Leonardo”, RUR 72), dip a cone of toothpicks into the glue, make a dot on the paper and attach the star. We used PVA glue, but keep in mind that synthetic materials He doesn't hold it very tightly. Secondary stars can be made from simple small sparkles (they will cost about half as much as curly ones) - also apply glue to the paper and sprinkle some fairy dust on this place.

Envelope

Envelope with four petals - beautiful simple packaging, which doesn’t even require glue from you. It rolls up easily and is suitable for gift certificates, CDs, pendants and other small things.

Notes and tips:

1. For this packaging we took paper with a density of about 140 g/m2, but we could have chosen thicker paper.

2. Petals can be decorated with sparkles - just drag along the cut cotton swab, soaked in glue, and dip the paper in them.

3. If your gift is not completely flat, then you can make “walls” a few millimeters high on the box (as in the photo above).

Paper pyramids

And finally, our favorite – paper pyramids! They look great and, despite their apparent fragility, are quite strong. The pattern for creating them is perhaps the most complex, but nothing needs to be glued or intricately bent. Fits perfectly in this box chocolate candy self made, flash drive, jewelry, Christmas tree toy... Anything!

Notes and tips:

1. For the boxes - yay! – the double-sided paper that was purchased for origami was ideal. Pastel also behaved wonderfully.

2. We cut out a snowflake on the red box with a model knife, and so that it would not be visible through it what was hidden inside, we used tracing paper - we cut out a four-pointed star from it according to the size of the box and secured it with a glue stick.

We all love gifts. Sometimes you want to give gifts made with your own hands. Or we need to make packaging for a purchased gift, and such packaging that it reflects our feelings. Most often, the gift is packaged in a box. So let's look at what boxes you can make. Consider rectangular and square boxes.

The simplest box

This box is without any special tricks. Without cover. Here is her diagram:

I must say that using the same pattern you can make boxes of different sizes. Therefore, the diagram indicated in centimeters can be enlarged. If there is a diagram, you can use it to make both small and big box. Depending on what size box you need. Looking at the diagram, we see that we must first draw a scaled view of the box to the required size.

If you need a dense box, then it’s better to make it made of cardboard. It will be stronger. You can even choose cardboard with colors. You can take white cardboard. The diagram shows the creation of a square box. Instead of a square one, you can make a rectangular one. To do this, you need to make changes to the proportions of length and width, to the proportions of the sides.

After careful drawing, outside We carefully cut out the drawing along the contour. Then we bend along the folds. We glue the edges for gluing. Consistently. Please note that the top of the box has folds on all sides. This is to ensure that the top is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. We bend these bends. We glue it. All. The box is ready.

Boxes with finished lid

Here's the most simple circuit box like this:

If you need a small box, then it is better to make it from paper with a density of 80 or 120. If you need a larger container for the gift, then you need to choose a denser material. When drawing, pay attention to the proportions. If you need a square at the bottom and top, and a rectangle on the sides of the box, make the proportions as in this diagram. Drew it. Cut it out. Bent. Glued together.

If you need a box with a ready-made lid in the form of a cube, then this diagram will do:

A minimum of material is needed here. Everything is simple and functional. Drew it. Cut it out. Bent. Glued together. You can paste additional pictures on the box for design.

There is a sketch of a rectangular box, already with tricks.

Here the edges for gluing are beautifully beveled, and the outer sides and top with lid have eyes for fastening. Such containers for gifts can also be modified at your discretion. The same circuit can have many variations within its implementation.

Another diagram of a rectangular gift box:

Creating such a craft is a little more complicated than the previous ones. There are additional side slots. This increases the strength of the container. The lid has additional wings - sides, which are inserted inside the box. The wings are made with roundness, aesthetically pleasing. Naturally, the proportions of the box in width, height, and length can be changed. Do what you need to do.

Boxes with top and inserts

If we want to make a rectangular box with a top and inserts, then this one is best suited:

This box is good because, thanks to the additional wings on the sides (put inside during assembly), it becomes stronger when gluing. And the lid with side wings and a front lock with a side overlap enhances the effect of the strength of the box (in the diagram, the lid with the front lock is drawn on the right side).

There is also a box with a top and inserts along the bottom of the box. Everyone has seen these boxes. Here's the diagram:

Let us immediately indicate that everything that is at the bottom of the diagram relates to the assembly of the bottom of the box. All the curly lines along which the cut must be made were made for a reason. The four halves of the four sides of the bottom, connecting in the desired configuration, form a tight adhesion of the bottom without any glue. The glue is applied to the box in only one place.

This place is indicated on the very left edge of the diagram - a side strip for gluing. More glue Not needed for this box. The upper side wings are needed to provide rigidity to the lid that is lowered from above. And the lid itself has an additional valve that fits inside the box.

Boxes with separate lid

The easiest way to create such a box is shown in this diagram:

The sides that are wider are slightly larger. So that they can be folded at the top and glued inside too, for rigidity and aesthetics. The lid for such a box is easy to make. Take the main size 3 millimeters larger. The rest: the width of the sidewalls is at your discretion. Glue the inserts on the sides. Dry the finished products.

Another way to make a box with a separate lid. More aesthetic. Moreover, the box is not only beautiful. It also gains strength. Here is her drawing:

It’s convenient to make such a box because it’s easy to maintain the proportions, no matter what size you stick to. It is easy to draw using a square as a basis. The side wings are also easy to make at any scale, making the cut angle to the middle of the side of the virtual outer square. By folding such already cut material, you will get a product where the wings for gluing converge at the top on both sides. This gives the product not only aesthetics, but also strength. The sketch shows how to create a product both cubic and rectangular.

The diagram does not show how to create a lid for such a box. Yes, you don’t need to draw it. And so it is clear. To create the lid you need to apply the same scheme. True, draw a square 2 - 3 mm larger.

Since the sidewalls of the lid will be significantly smaller than the base, the wings for gluing need to be simply beveled at a certain angle in order to connect the sidewalls. When creating a lid, it is not necessary to make the wings for gluing all the way to the middle, towards each other. It is enough to make the wings for gluing simply at an angle.

Also, for those who want to learn how to make boxes, I have two links to videos where you can see how it’s done:

In almost every home there are a thousand little things for which you need to find a place to store them so that such a container logically fits into the interior of the room. The easiest option is to make decorative boxes with your own hands from scrap materials, they can be decorated in suitable color or use fabric with a pattern.

Decorating the finished box (MK)

Using a ready-made packaging box (usually a shoe box) will ideal option for storing necessary little things. You can also use cardboard paper boxes, household appliances, dishes or other suitable size.

Materials suitable for decorating such a box: colored paper(plain or for decoupage), colored cardboard, ribbons, sparkles and beads, seashells, coins, etc. In such a situation, it is best to use any imagination, but with the condition that the box fits harmoniously into the interior of the room. Most often, the box is sheathed or covered with fabric; you can use a piece of foam rubber for softness.

If the box is intended for small items, then inside you can use sheets of cardboard to divide the space into several compartments of different sizes.

When choosing a box, you need to consider its purpose:

  • determine the desired desired size;
  • the box can be taken from under paper, a teapot or an iron;
  • buy a piece of fabric of a suitable size and color, glue and sewing supplies.

Any cardboard box will do

The fabric is most often glued or sewn on both the outside and inside of the box for softness. Here step-by-step instruction how to do it:

1. You need to take measurements of the box from all sides and cut the fabric according to these dimensions.

2. Sew the prepared pieces of fabric. The material can be taken in one color or for different sides- contrasting tones (choice of your choice).

3. All sides of the box are coated with glue, and the fabric is glued to the box.

4. After drying, the internal and external seams are sewn manually with a needle.

5. If necessary, you can make handles for the box from colored braid.

6. Decorating the box is a flight of fancy.

To make boxes for books, linen, shoes or various small things needed in every home, you can use various materials. This may not necessarily be cardboard; other products that are suitable in hardness, density and texture are quite suitable.

From cardboard

Hand-made decorative boxes made of cardboard or thick paper can be of any shape - from a classic parallelepiped, cube to original form(heart, star, oval, etc.). The principle of manufacturing the product is very simple. First you need to draw the details of the future box, taking into account the allowances for gluing. Then cut and connect with glue. Such a box can be closed using a magnet, Velcro, or a regular removable lid of the same shape. The decor of such a box depends entirely on the taste of the owner.

Made of wood or birch bark

Do-it-yourself boxes made from birch bark are very popular now. They are woven from birch bark strips or woven into a box shape. The parts in such birch bark baskets can be fastened with fishing line. To make wooden boxes, you will most likely need man's hands, which will help you cut sheets from plywood or a small board. It is also better to involve a man to fasten and cut out patterns on the lid.

From newspapers

Another interesting option(but labor-intensive) - weaving baskets from newspaper tubes. The manufacturing technology is as follows:

1. The tubes are prepared separately in large quantities. They are wound on an iron knitting needle, the tip is secured with glue.

3. The strongest tubes are glued to the base (box), retreating a few cm between adjacent ones.

4. Then the actual process of braiding the base begins (based on the principle of wicker weaving).

5. After finishing, the edges of the tubes are either secured inward with tweezers or cut off. The resulting wicker box is painted and decorated with pieces of fabric, ribbons, shells, etc.

From plastic bottles

Bottle boxes are made using the middle part, which is cut out and made into rectangular parts:

  • In total, you need to prepare 6 parts for the box.
  • Using a hole punch, holes are cut around the entire perimeter in each such workpiece.
  • Then the parts are crocheted and connected with threads.
  • Small sides are also made for the lid so that it tightly closes the box.
  • Further decoration of the box-box is a flight of imagination of the hostess.

Boxes for linen (MK)

Such decorative boxes for storing books, shoes, linen and various small items can be made in large quantities; there are many various options. One of practical options for the dressing room - a whole set of boxes with inscriptions or photos of shoes, so as not to search for the right pair every time. Here we use standard packaging boxes for shoes, preferably the same size.

Very necessary thing V women's wardrobe- a laundry organizer box with different compartments for each item of clothing. Such an organizer can again be made from cardboard:

1. It is necessary to measure exactly all the dimensions inside the box: the frame of the box with the cells must exactly match the dimensions so as not to move in the future.

2. Strips of cardboard are cut out, covered with paper or fabric on both sides, the frame must be carefully fastened, pasting all the corners inside and out.

3. Strips for partitions are cut for the cells; the easiest way is to make cells of the same size.

4. Similarly, we glue the strips of cells on both sides, leaving 1 cm on each edge (ear) for later gluing to the frame.

5. To fasten them together, slots are made in the strips at the required distance: in longitudinal parts from below, and in transverse parts from above; the strips are inserted into each other through the slots - a lattice is obtained.

6. The grille is inserted inside the frame and secured with “ears” into the frame (glued or stapled).

Making a laundry storage box

Boxes with cells made in this way can be decorated by covering them with colored paper and any decorative details (lace, ribbons, etc.).

Using the same principle, a container for sewing supplies is made using a ready-made shoe box. It’s better to make cells only different sizes(for scissors, pin cushions, spools). It is better to make the lid of such a box hinged and fasten it with a button.

The easiest way is to buy a ready-made box in a store. But the thing made with my own hands, always unique and inimitable. Therefore, any housewife would prefer, using her labor and imagination, to create the necessary boxes for storing all sorts of small things in her household yourself, saving money.
